I love this song and this is probably my favorite version of it, it's very simple and soft, plus having female vocals to it is a plus. Stabbing Westward also covered this song quite nicely.

And people cover classic songs all of the time and make them just as amazing as the original. Like Johnny Cash's covers on Hurt and Personal Jesus, or Marilyn Manson with Tainted Love and again, Personal Jesus. Orgy did a amazing cover of Blue Monday. =)

I also don't like the way it's sung in the original either. I'm glad they wrote it, but the version I like is this one: soft, sweet, lyric dissonance...

Also, I don't believe that they are certain classics that shouldn't be touch. Everything is open to reinterpretation and then we'll see if it's better or not, but there souldn't be a rule.

My other favorite songs by Frente are "Labour of Love" and "Ordinary Angels."

And can we retire the knee-jerk disdain for covers? Aretha's "Respect" is a cover, Jimi's "All Along the Watchtower" is a cover, Sinead's "Nothing Compares 2 U" is a cover, and they're all GREAT SONGS.
