he broke it because his body has more drag than the board so the water does not make it to the top thus causing the machine to run dry because of no water to the pumps that run it...very bad design but thats my opinion

this happens at kalahari sandusky all the time, the lifeguards tell me its called a ripcurl or a riptide or something, its when the wave loses too much water and it can't pump it back out because there isnt enough to do so lol. i think thats what happens, but anyway, looks like ur gettin the hang of it man, nice!

He didn't actually "break" the machine, he caused too much water to back flow which interrupted the water flow. they most likely just had to reset it to make it flow properly (which is faster than letting this occur naturally)
