The talent, originality, and variety of music we had then was off the charts. Real songs real lyrics. I would rather be 50 and have grown up in the seventies than be 20 now.
SOME DIE HARD ROCK FANS CALL ME CORNY BECAUSE I LIKE THIS SONG. I RECENTLY GOT INTO ROCK ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO...AND I DISCOVERED THAT IM MORE OR A "SOFT ROCK" FAN. THE SAY THIS SONG IS "CHEESY" BUT I LOVE IT...LOL
@FIRSTNAMEMARKO I love Hendrix and other hard rock, but I also love songs like this one, nothing wrong with that (even Hendrix did soft rock, like his song "Drifting").
Saw David Peck in Charleston tonight, he still is so unbelievably talented! Just got off a plane and came and played GREAT! Did a rendition of Pinball Wizard, which brought the house down!
Biggest Part of Me? More like.... Biggest Part of Music. Not literally, but honestly... I miss the creativity and feeling of these types of classics. Great stuff!
@jeffo2448 The question no one asks is what would Mozart think of these guys? I really would like to know; of course we can't. I do believe the classic composers would have loved the electrical driven instruments for their variety of sounds that can be produced. They were always looking. And as for making money they already had long hair & one jump from the stage; bring the coins on..
I can never understand what ever happened to Ambrosia !!!! How come they never had the album this song and many others are on into a CD ????? WHY WHY WHY ?????????
@mommajozy Ambrosia's Anthology CD was released May 20 1997 and the rest of the complete Ambrosia catalog was released at the beginning of 2000. Check Amazon.com.
@johnkeys51 Yup are so right. . .I grew up listening to soft rock and Ambrosia is one of the best. The singers voice comes out so strong and natural. But here is the cover that Fallon did, it's yacht week on fallon so soft rock galore. Search for MVI9349 . . .I cant add a link
Takes me back to 1980-freshman year, homecoming night, "making out" with my boyfriend on the sofa while this song plays in the background:):) happy memories
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels the same...Cripes, I was almost brought to tears this morning when I saw/heard a snippet of this song for a 'Easy Listening' compilation CD offer on TV, LOL...I even had the 45's of this groups classics as a child in '78 with 'How Much I Feel' & so on...LOVE IT TOO!!
@Lu70sChild80sFan - now I have a clue as to why people go through a mid life crisis, but I am resisting the urge to go through that!. Instead it's best just to celebrate the thrill of these fantastic songs. We're lucky, I don't know what the young kids today are going to LOVE from their songs of today. Keep up the trip back into time :)
@discgallerynow : Amen to that, they do not. I've always been mystified that Hall & Oates seemed to really explode at a greater level onto the music scene than Ambrosia---or at least that H & O seemed to be more heavily promoted. I was a fan of theirs back in the day, but I have never felt they ever came close to the amazing talent of David Pack and Ambrosia.
Oh I SO love this
