  • Sometimes I have a feeling Grover's doing it on purpose to get revenge on the time the blue guy demanded a big hamburger.

  • More likely, if anything, for the times he demanded the sandwich to look just like the one in the picture, every single letter in the alphabet soup, and the time he couldn't decide whether to eat the ham sandwich or the soup de'jour first.

  • lol listen to the piano in the background

    try not to laugh

    classic comedy, grover <3

  • lol. the good old days. i got annoyed watching this segment when i was a kid, now i think it's hilarious!

  • Round and tasty on a bun....LMAO!!!!!

  • I think these are WAY funnier watching them as an adult as opposed to watching it as a kid!

  • You are so right. I used to watch sesame street all the time and never thought it was funny as a kid. I'm watching these now and I'm just cracking up. The Big Blue skits are downright hilarious.

  • Not only do I love Grover's lines "Beady Eyes and Big Blue Head" and "Nothing to be ashamed" of - but also how oblivious his incompetence is effecting everyone else is pure hilarity. I also love Grover's line when interacting with Charlie - "You cook fast, you're a really good cook" and "It's Lunchtime Charlie - break out the good stuff". They must have had so much fun making this. Even after 20 years this show still brings me joy. God bless the people who contributed towards this legacy!

  • You don't know why you keep coming to this place?? Ummmm sir, do you actually like to have Grover aggravate you or are you hardheaded?

  • I expect you to clean that up Sir

  • Since its good friday I wount mind to have that or get sword fish, chees pizza, egg sandwich, insted.

  • they should bring back the old sesame street when it was good. now its all garbage with elmos world.

  • um what happened if I serve you a hamburger with a grape fruit instead of the paddy?

  • What does Grover say at 00:44?

  • A Trick Of the Trade

  • A trick of the tray I think is what Grover says.

  • "observe sir, a trick of the trade"---hope that helps!

  • He says "Observe Sir, a trick of the trade"

  • He says, "Observe, sir. A trick of the trade. I remember things with a little poem."

  • Observe sir, a trick of the trade, I remember things with a little.. and then I think he says hum. Not sure.

  • "round and tasty on a bun

pickles, french fries, yum yum yum!"

"in a hurry to be fed

beady eyes and big blue head!"

  • I can't believe Grover said I expect you to clean that up sir at the end of the skit. LOL

  • I totally remember this skit from Sesame Street.

  • I have loved this skit since I was little. Excellent. Although I'm not so sure why I though round and tasty on a bun, beady eyes and big blue head were the best things ever. Maybe because I was 3 or so.

  • Wow, I actually remember watching this many years ago. Thanks for posting it.

  • Man, I love Frank Oz's voice acting.

  • I love him as Yoda in Star Wars

  • This is my most memorable Grover and Mr. Johnson moment.

"Beady eyes and big blue head."

    Mahahahahahaha!"

  • When the Great Big Clock Says 2 Then The waiter's Work Is threw

Time To Have A Special Treat

It's The waiter's Turn To Eat.

  • I've always called him beady eyes and big blue head since I was a kid because of this sketch

  • Crikey this does bring back memories :o) Good ol' Grover!

  • The owner of Pastrami King on Queens Boulevard looked just like Fat Bue.

  • The customer's name is actually Mr. Johnson.

  • This has to be the funniest Grover waiter skit. I forgot how funny he was. "Why should we argue sir? You have forgotten what your ordered, NOTH-ING-TO-BE-ASH-AMED-OF!" LOL

  • Yeah! Look at 2:49.

"Look at that sire....This looks like a Hamburger Bun...." Grover is "on that suff"

    LMAO

  • I do not have beady eyes!

  • "In a hurry to be fed, beady eyes and big blue head! Okay, Charlie, put on a round one!"

    HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH

  • wow....i hope for those of u who watch this have a whole new respect for waiters....NONE!! lol

  • I spect you to clean that up ser

  • 2:12: "Now, listen & learn! Round-and-tasty, on-a-b-" "WILL YOU FORGET THAT SILLY RHYME AND JUST, JUST LOOK AT THIS PLATE!!"

    LMAO!

  • That is a Classic and that does bring back a lots of good memories.

  • I keep playing it over and over..and everytime i watch it, i burst a seem. Brings back memories.

  • Grover: "In a hurry to be fed, beady eyes and big blue head! Hehe..." Freakin' hillarious. Makes me laugh everytime.

  • i remember this one from when i was a kid....that and carol channing & the sammy the snake song :)

  • Grover: "Look at that sir. You know what this looks like? It looks like a hamburger bun here."

Johnson: "Well, of course it's a hamburger bun, that's what I ordered... a hamburger with cheese on it!" What a classic! I laugh every time I see this sketch!

  • LOCK THE DOORS!

  • this dude is a dick

    grover is my dude

  • Grover the waiter is probably the most genius Sesame Street comedy. That and Bert and Ernie :)

  • I am 15 years old and this still makes me laugh uncontrolably LOL!!!!

  • If someone watches this and doesn't think it's funy and/or good, they quite likely have no soul....lol

  • Beady eyes and big blue head kind of deserves this...he's always such a retentive dink about everything.....see picture menu sketch!

  • 2:50

    LOL at his eyes :D

  • I remember this- I always wondered why the man didn't just run away when he saw grover coming.

  • From the looks of things, Grover is the only waiter at Charlie's restaurant.

  • The customer sounded familiar.

  • Well, the same character - Fat Blue - appeared in a ton of Sesame Street bits though they don't often say his name. Mainly he was being "helped" by Grover when he showed up.

  • I just LOVE how the blue guy always gets pissed off at this place!

  • "beady eyes and big blue head" haha, cheeky shit!

  • nice nice..

  • this is one of my favorites ever "to serve you is my only pleasure, SIR." hilarious. these two were a great comedy team.

  • I remember this when I was a kid, I am so surprised I found it. LOLLLL. I remembered this word for word. LMAOOOOOO. Funny stuff.

  • Grover was always my favorite!

  • CLASSIC!!! absolute CLASSIC!!!

  • "Beady eyes and big blue head."

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Still makes me laugh!

I miss this skit so much... sigh.

    Thanks for posting!

  • Grover the waiter was a great series of sketches! Thanks for uploading.

  • wow these yaers later there still funny

  • in a hurry to be fed, beady eyes and big blue head :D

  • It's like trying to teach a brick how to play softball.

  • this stays soo cool

  • i always felt sorry for that guy.

  • hes sooo cute grover i love watching him

  • How that Grover holds this job

It's a mystery, is is not?

    Every time he something serves

    Often it is in reverse

  • grovers voice sounds a bit like yoda

  • Its the same guy who did the voice - Frank Oz

  • I am surprised that Fat Blue can actually eat. He must have painful ulcers from dealing with Grover!

  • i really like when fat blue always encornted glover. its so funny when he ask for something and then all of a sudden, he get the wrong thing! that was really funny!

  • in a hurry to be fed beady eyes and big blue head

  • I have this one on video, it's my favorite one of all time. I'd always reenact it with my sister where she would be grover and I would be fat blue.

  • this was my faaaaaaaavorite!!!!!!!! thanks :)

  • has anybody noticed that the blue guy looks/sounds a bit like Dr. Phil?

  • I think Dr. Phil's voice is deeper, plus he has a more Southern accent.

  • lol i remember this poem lol!

  • thank you for posting-wish I appreciated the humor when I was a kid.

  • yaaay!!

  • lmao. classic

  • What kind of music are they playing in the backgrond?

  • wow i cant believe how funny this is. i didnt even like this show when i was a kid

  • "To serve you is my only pleasure."- sounds a bit like the way Frank Oz protrayed Yoda's form of speech, reversing "It is my only pleasure to serve you."

  • "I do NOT have beady eyes!" hahaha classic

  • grover is so adorable

  • LOL

  • where is the skit where Grover freaks out in the kitchen and breaks things? I remember that one. :D

  • "Waiter, please...just go get me my LUNCH!"

    "Yes, sir."

    *pause*

"Oh, I'm sorry, sir, I cannot do that."

    Heeheehee.

  • Grover is Yoda! Same guy.

  • I al;ways remembered the "Pickles frenchfries yumyumyum"

  • "In a hurry to be fed, beady eyes and big blue head!!!!" that rhyme was the biggest thing i remember about these skits...

  • Eat at home fat blue!

  • 2:13-2:18 is hilarious!!

  • I Love Grover!! LOL he's so f-in funny

  • Grover sounds like Yoda.

  • because frank oz (grover) performed yoda in one star wars movie

  • All of the Star Wars movies that Yoda appeared in.

  • Maybe Fat Blue should buy Grover some Post-It notes for his birthday.

  • round and tasty on a bun, pickle, french fries, yum yum yum!

  • Why does this guy kepp going to this restaurant?

  • I think he did go to Hooper's once for a change, but Grover found out and called him there--he missed waiting on his favorite customer! He was even starting to cry, causing poor Fat Blue to reconsider. Charlie's is probably around the corner from Hooper's Store.

  • Lol. only on sesame street.

  • How old is this skit?

I remember seeing this one in the late 80s.

The intro music immediately took me back in time.

  • beady eyes and big blue head

  • and a big blue head!

    lol

  • lock the doors???

  • "Hold it! Hold everything! Lock the doors! I've got it!"

    LMAO!

  • Two words....ANGER MANAGEMENT!!! Grover is a nut though.

  • I wonder if Grover does it on purpose, I would after a problematic customer. The fat blue guy was so annoying with the alphabet soup and the ham sandwich where he seemed to just be a nuisence

  • I was rolling when I watched this at 6 and it's still hilarious at 26. Sesame Street's skits are the best. "Beady eyes and big blue head." LOL too funny.

  • lmao... after watching these after a long time... even as an adult its funny to watch

  • Ugh, you think the guy would learn not to come back to that place, but then again Grover seems to follow him just to annoy him, maybe he's stalking him. Dude, restraining order!

  • Grover would never delibrately annoy anyone; his problem is that he is so very anxious to be helpful that he overdoes it.

  • the guy who dose grover is the same guy who does yoda on star wars

  • Grover is my favorite Muppet. It is hilarious! I had not seen it before! Grover rocks!!!

  • LOL OMG!!! funniest line at 3:33, "Hey Charlie!! Lunchtime, break out the good stuff...." Oh this video brings back memories of youth :)

  • omg yes that was my favorite part lol

  • Wow, I love Grover. Brings back so many memories. (I'm from the UK) I always wanted to go to this restaurant, just for a laugh!

  • i would like to see the one when Grover goes crazy in the back of the restaurant and throws things.

  • HI. I know the one you're speaking of...first it was about eggs & strips of bacon...then when all was said & done, the blue guy said he changed his mind & wanted 2 hot dogs & 2 pickles. lol

  • This is such an adult cartoon. Does anyone remember this from childhood! This is funnier 20 years later.

  • It does get funnier!! I like the music in the background there don't you? Beautiful huh?

  • Big blue head! Ha ha ha!

  • Maybe instead of "Round and Tasty", Grover could say, "Flat and Meaty". It makes more sense. But then again with Fat Blue's luck, he might be there when Charlie happens to be out of hamburger patties.

  • Flat and meaty on a bun

Pickles, French fries, yum yum yum

    -----

That's actually more catchy than "round and tasty".

  • Yeah, but Grover would still find some way to make it come out as anything BUT a hamburger.

  • Well, there are two different kinds of flat. A burger certainly isn't spherical like a grapefruit, but it does look somewhat circular when you hold it up. And some people consider meaty things tasty.

  • The second line should be "Pickles, onions, yum yum yum." (Or Ketchup, or Mayo, or Mustard, etc.) But you put french fries on the SIDE.

  • "What a memory have I!" Isn't that bad grammar? Shouldn't the last two words in that line be reversed?

  • Either way is grammatically correct :-)

  • No, because it wouldn't rhyme.

  • Makes you wonder if Charlie's is run by a bunch of other monsters. I always wondered about that.

  • awesome... I'm gonna open a restaurant and call it "Grover's"

  • "Well, you should have thought of that before you ordered it!" That line always crack me up! I wonder what a grapefruit sandwich would taste like? In fact, Grover's not all wrong, if anything a grapefruit, being a sphere, is rounder than the flat burger. "I thought it was pretty weird when you ordered it!"

  • holy shit! i used to sing that song when i was a little kid. cant believe i found it after all these years! thanks fo sharing

  • "Round and tasty on a bun..." I wonder what a grapefruit-burger would taste like! "I thought it was pretty weird when you ordered it!" Grover's at his best here!

  • Beady eyes and big blue head!!

  • This is so funny! Did anyone notice a time order error with the clock near the end?

  • he is bald and rather blue ..charlies food is good for you

  • yeah , im 27 and I STILL laugh at these skits ...

  • Me too!!! Grover the waitor always cracks me up. I'm glad he isn't at any of the restaurants I like. Nice music in the background there huh?

  • listen and learn Round and tasty on a bun

Will you forget this silly ryme and just just

    look at this plate

  • I expect you to clean that up sir

  • Funny stuff man!!!

  • I LOVE this, I remember it from when I was a kid in the 80's. I've never forgotten it, and this brings it right back! The wit in this should not be ignored. An absolute classic.

  • Round and tasty on a bun, pickles, french fries yum yum yum. "A grapefruit sandwich", ridiculous!

  • And don't forget, "In a hurry to be fed... Beady eyes and bg, blue head." Oh yeah, and, "When the great big clock says two, then the waiter's job is through. Time to have a special treat, i's the waiter's turn to eat." LMAO, ah man, those were the days.

  • "Wow, you cook fast! Really a good cook." Lmao.

  • I wish I can go out to lunch after work

  • If you want to shout and roar

    I won't serve you anymore!

    A rhyme of my own-great!

  • True, but Mr. Johnson/Fat Blue might like it that way.

  • BUUA HA HA! Beady eyes and big blue head. I love it!

  • I used to love Gina when I was a baby

  • This sketch has a 2nd part. Fat Blue goes to Hooper's store, and tells Gina what happened here. But Gina has given the last cheeseburger in the store to someone else. Three guesses who!!!

  • That second part was shown as a street scene in only one episode. I've seen it.

  • Oh, I'd love to see that.

  • this is the funniest sketch of all time, great lines THOUGHT IT WAS PRETTY ODD WHEN U ORDERED IT

  • Harvsoul,

Just so you know, the second line is: "Pickles, french fries, yum-yum-yum!"

  • I come home from lunch after work I have a lunch date tomrrow with my best friend

  • Round and tasty on a bun

With some french fries, yum yum yum

In a hurry to be fed

Beady eyes and big blue head!

the only thing I remember about this

  • Man I'd go to that restaurant all the time JUST to have Grover as my waiter XD

  • A chesse burger would be good for lunch tomrrow

  • "Well, then you must have ordered something else. Let's see... a peach? Yeah that's round and tasty. No, how "bout a donut". This is perhaps my favorite "Grover the Waiter" sketch. I can't watch it without laughing. HA-HA-HAHA-HAHA!!!

Thank you for posting this video!

BTW, I believe this is the only "Grover the waiter" sketch where there is a clock mounted above the kitchen doors.

  • YES! I loved this sketch!! :)

  • all these sketches is what made me like hamburgs and cheeseburgers all because i watched this and similar ones as a kid!

  • and grover always had a different job in these sketches.

you know how much grover and i have in common?

  • these sketches always made me anxious.

    now i'm an anxious waitress.

    no, seriously.

  • Well, the other one was in a foreign language or somethin

  • thanx 4 posting this one. i've been wanting 2 c it 4 awhile.

  • 4 those of you who refer to the bluish customer in "Sesame Street," his name's Mr. Johnson. I didn't even know his name while being into these excerpts during my youth.

  • Mr. Fat Blue Johnson of course!

  • With his first names being Fat Blue, of course!

  • His first name is Fred. Fat Blue is the name of his Muppet pattern. There are many more of his kind.
