  • The drumming is very generic.

  • They're good, but they're just a shell of what they once were.

  • Wow.

  • sitting on stage because of crushing crowd, promise to sit still and behave, 19 years old and watching my best band play and logging it to memory forever, Ok, watching keith moon toss his sticks up overhead and catch without looking to complete his banging sounds, and well, it was mind blowing for real,, i was so fucking lucky i was getting crushed and saved by roadie Noel........i'm older now, but close my eyes there i am...

  • yas all need to google the who marley park 2007 unreal good form legend gig crowd eveything i should know was there check it fans check it out

  • But their hearts will go on and on. And that's why we're here, occasionally, to learn more about what's happened after them. You can die but you never get lost. And that's just great! So please keep the memory up, chaps! Thanks2UTube!

  • I know you can't go back, but its like the heart and soul of The Who has been ripped out without Moon and Entwistle.

  • adam sandlers quote is from when he done a migic bus styal introduction of the who at the vh1 rock honurs

  • this is an interesting version. I liked the original better but it's not bad. however I feel John doesn't enough screen time. it was something that his wife fought for because they only really showed Pete and Roger but hardly ever John.

  • I saw them at the IMA in Flint MI and at the Pontiac silverdome 1975 and never recoverd.

Evertime they were on the radio or on my disc, it had to be turned up.

  • To quote Adam Sandler: Pete - behind blue eyes, is a big ass brain!!! LOL! : )

  • @diamondsammy12 from what movie is that quote?

  • @Berenueve Not really sure what you're talking about... I was a prolific ticket scalper back in the day... I went to ALL of the great concerts, including the building of THE WALL every night it was built... so, I'm not sure if I quoted a movie... or if the movie quoted ME... please tell me... what movie?

  • my band when is was young

  • Great version !

  • thirteen times in concert, from 1969 to 19whatever....

  • at least john wasnt stuck in the same key in this version

  • Can I buy your magic bus classic

  • great version of this song.. ty

  • Bad arrangement? It's called a groove! If you want the original arrangement, listen to the album =o)

  • After playing this song at least a trillion times I'm sure they found it refreshing to play it differently. I know it's a breath of fresh air for me.

  • Damn they got old. lol. but they still rock.... Amazing. LAdy Ga Ga isn't that ggood now. imagine how bad she is gonna be when she is that old.

  • now I know where Oasis found their drum inspiration for the song 'supersonic'..

  • @bebaslepas dude the drummer drummed in oasis :D

  • how can a single coil guitar scream that wild?

love his crunch tone.. anyone can give me the basic stuff to create that tone?

  • @bebaslepas Look at Petes wikipedia it says all his equipment

  • Bad choice of arrangement! This version sounds like it's by a band that couldn't quite get the feel of the original.

  • this is wwwwweak compared to the live at leeds performance

  • @devygoodtimes everything on Earth is weak compared to that. c'mon now.

  • @devygoodtimes Well you are comparing it to a performance from The Who in there prime with all of there members, and this was done in a different style if you hadn't noticed, more like the album. And besides, still way better than any of the crap that comes out today.

  • Caralho!!!! Os tiozinhos estão demais!! Pete resolveu voltar a fazer solos e o Daltrey...o que é isso?? Os caras são como o vinho... e o Zak tá bem aqui, fazendo a lição de casa.

  • Pete is having way too much fun here. LOL

  • There`s no way to replace someone like Moon. Keith was very undisciplined on drums when he started. Always bashing about but he got better as the years went by. His drumming on Who`s Next was as good as it gets, especially on Bargain.

Can`t say I`ve ever liked Pete on a Strat. It doesn`t look right on him. He sounds better on a Telecaster or better yet the Gibson SG he used in the early days....

  • @whyyeseyec he needs those overwound single coils, not lace sensors

  • YEA i agree though zak has no banter and he's playing like a girl.Smash those drums Uncle kieth did not teach you that way to play.Zak has got better over the years i'm sure pete gave him a ear full after this concert.Pete keeps looking at him like come on man pound that shit.Nobody better than Moon maybe Ginger Baker.I read Moon's book he alway's said i wish i can play like Ginger Baker of Cream.Ginger did not have the showmanship like Moon and Moon was faster.

  • That drummer fucking sucks

  • @vedderfan94 that's Ringo starrs son Zak starkey. He's no Moon but who is.

Zak is a good fit for the Who because Pete would tell him to hike Ringo's son or not.

Pete a perfectioninest.I SAW THEM IN Boston in 2006 zak was great.I saw them in 1973-76 with Moon. That's the real fucken WHO.John,kieth....

  • keith moon??? 0.o

  • awante the wooooooooo!!!!

  • where's the cajun walking rhytm gone? I don' like this flat version.

  • Awesome version of 'Magic Bus'

    Woo FUCKIN HOOOOOOO !!!!!!!

    YEH!!!

  • I said you CAAAANN'T HAVE IT.

  • RIP the ox

  • Salmonella Pilchard said....

    'You can't have it'

only if you pay me off ☻

  • i love this. A LOT! too bad i wasnt even born then XP

great rendition. i cant really think of any other band that does stuff like this.

  • lol, i love the beat they put into Magic Bus for this live show :D

  • Keith was already dead for three years in 1981.

    He snuffed it in '78.

  • At least Keith moon is able to play really interesting rhythms and not just the same all over again as youre used if you listen to acdc :/

well and their basslines are remarkable amazing!

  • Keith died in '78. This video was from '81.

The guy isn't keith moon. as you could have seen from his motoristics

  • this vid is from the Vegas job in 1998!! How could it be 1981, Pete still had his hair back then

  • I love Mr. Pete, and I'm sure you all doo!

  • it's nice to hear an elaborated version of the bassline from john. apparently it was his least favorite song to play, back in the day, it's just two and a half minutes of A. ironically, pete said it was his favorite rhythm to play.

  • i wish pete would start using gibsons again, that strat sounds dead tinny to me

  • yeah, and older gibsons at that!

    None of this chambered shit!

  • There was no finer rendition of this, than at Leeds!

  • Yea, the leeds concert was fantastic

  • Get off Pete!!!!

    The Who still rocks!!!

  • What year was this? the Ox is still alive.

  • Despite that clam at 4:36 LOL, Townshend's playing is why I spent so many hours with "Who's Last" blasting, and a guitar on my shoulder -- PETE just flat-out ROCKS!!!!!

  • I want it!

    i want it!

    i want it!

  • Very nice!

  • amazing how ringos kid plays better drums than his old man

  • He was only taught by the Loon himself.

  • You mean Keith Moon?

Ringo Starr was in the Beatles. And he's still alive.

    LOL

  • thats zak starkey playin with the who now moon died in 78

    zak is ringos son

  • he was right. yeah, ringo's still alive, but ringo's son plays shows for the who now. apparently, moon bought zak his first drum set and taught him how to play back in the '70s.

  • from live at leeds to a mere decade ago....this is truly wicked

  • this is the live version idiot

  • There will never be another band as great as the Who.

  • There are a few that were up there with them, Queen for one

  • @keefer2111 Telling me!!! I believe I attended all 20+ (lol) of their "Goodbye Tours" in Los Angels... lol!!! : )

  • @keefer2111 A Band used by all others to measure their own self worth.

The Who are the very best of the best.

  • Comment removed

  • WTF r u talking about!!!

  • ccrholland, your right! it is a poor imitation of a once great tune!

  • This drummer can never compete with Keith Moon. No drummer ever can and ever will. He'll always be the best! R.I.P. Keith Moon

  • Keith is no doubt one of the best... but have you ever heard of Carter Beauford (Dave Matthews Band) ... he is one hell of a drummer. ;)

  • lol is that dr. cox from scrubs?

  • no you moron, that's Roger Daltrey.

  • ya i think it was his last show cause he got killed in vegas

  • he wasnt killed he had a heart attack after he did some cocaine in his hotel room.. R.I.P. John..

  • He was still taking drugs then?! Did the other also then?

  • No, I'm pretty sure it was just him, but if you want to know for sure then you should check the internet.

  • This was from 1999, Entwistle died in 2002.

  • et dieu créa les Who

  • omg i think roger totally looks like dr.cox from scrubs right now

  • Was that Entwistle's last show?

  • no, royal albert hall was.

  • thats right, but he died in the hard rock hotel in vegas.

  • that was on the eve the the last vegas concert. (WHICH I HAD TIX 2!!!)

this was before. i dont know how long before, but RAH was his last. my mom went to this one.

  • there will be no one like entwistle or moonie again....

  • never will... alot like him, but there not them. never be the same, wont have the same sound, unless you have there brain.

  • Victor Wooten (Bela Fleck & the Flecktones) is a pretty solid bassist & Carter Beauford (Dave Matthews Band) is one hell of a drummer... Yet, Entwistle and Moon were very stellar indeed :D

  • Who concerts were always good for fights.

  • Love the look on Entwhistles face when Pete starts making up vocals for the song... He's like "What the F**K is he doing now." I supose he got used to Pete playing around on stage... But that look... He's just like get on with it and playing basic Bass Cords until Pete stops his adlibs. And gets on with the song... Love it totally classic Who humor.

  • 1:25 they were on different pages! pete was right but i think roger skipped that was great tho pete just tried to remember and made some stuff up at the same time !!! :-D roger just tried to do something with himself while he tried to remember the words! great job pete 8-)

  • townsend is great and probably right to run daltry down a little but the fact is he's an arrogant prick and I think he's proud of it.

  • Entwhistle is a fucking MONSTER!

  • @CaptPlaceholder ***Sir Entwistle***

  • and by the way sg blows the strat will fuck it up anytime

  • True dat!

But it's a matter of opinion really, but still the strat was always the best option for Townshends playing and writing style.

  • soitgoes is retarded.. there all front men.. there the greatest musicians of all time, they can pull anything off my friend!!!!!

  • Actually, I watched through the entire video, and it was a little odd that Pete Townshend took over the vocals. I agree, he doesn't quite have the voice that Roger Daltrey has. Townshend is the most rounded member of the band, and the most talented when it comes to songwriting, but if Daltrey is around to sing, let him sing.

  • well roger would have song the song if he remembered the words! didnt anyone else notice a min and 25 seconds in they were singing different parts and looked at each other then tried to figure it out. roger remembers the next like 30 secs then pete has to take over to sing any part he remembered or to make up things since he is after all the writer

  • I don't really know what's going on here, but either most all you guys are really too high or maybe not high enough, but I love this shit!!! This is great Rock-n-Roll man....I guess you missed your classic rock 101 class or somethin'.... you better get off this magic bus ride and catch the next bus outta town...it's toooooo much - you can't have it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • First, let me say I am a big who fan. This video, however, sucks. Rodger looks and sounds great but Pete wants to be as much a front man as Rodger and he can't pull it off. He never could. Pete should focus on his playing. Pete needs to get rid of the strat and come out with an SG so I can hear him. Pete should also get rid of the bowling shirt. Holly god this is awful.

  • lol the sg blows first i have one and my squier kicks its as@.. and as far as pete goes.. there all front men u a@s there the greatest musicians off all time

  • I actually think Pete Townshend has the right to fight for the spotlight a little. Truly, all of the members of the Who were frontmen. Roger is only arbitrarily labeled the real frontman because he's the singer.

I agree about the Stratocaster though. I liked it more when he played Gibsons.

  • yeh

  • Gotta pay me in cold cash !!

  • nobody's better than "who"

  • Don't forget Zep

  • Zep is abut on a par, in my opinion. They rock ferocious, but I cannot stand Robert Plant's voice.

  • And plant can't sing live for crap, he's hasnt got the high vocals he used to...

  • ha ac/dc better than the who! made me laugh :)

  • haha same..whoever thinks that is extremely foolish

  • i am a fan of both too, and ill agree with you that angus is wayy better than pete, but still think th who were definately better, its not about skill or bein th best guitarist its about th sound and the music and the who r great

  • You have a good point there. Personally, I like AC/DC better because I like their "style" more, but Keith and John were damn good at their instruments. -- "Magic Bus" will always be one of my favorite songs of all time. -- My absolute favorite band is the Dave Matthews Band mainly b/c I really appreciate their drummer. He's one of the best I've ever heard. & They do a SPECTACULAR cover of Watchtower ('09 versions have a Stairway to Heaven outro, which is nothing short of a musical orgasm)

  • @hockeynut002700 Then I think pete is wayy better than Angus.

  • Yeah but John and Keith (played by Pino and Zak) kick Cliff and Phil's asses.

  • Very true, lol... they are very talented musicians indeed

  • I don't believe I've ever seen Angus in a [good] jam session. How about we put Angus and Pete in two rooms. Tell them each "you have 30mins to start improv jamming." Let's see who holds up and performs better. I'd bet my house Pete would. The Who was flailing around microphones, busting up instruments, windmill strumming, creating heat stopping bass lines, and rocking 10 years before anybody even thought about Brain Johnson being entertaining.

  • why are you talking bout acdc here?

  • Esta música subeme o animo, e poñenseme as pernas a mover.

    Saúdos dende Galiza.

  • GOOD OLD ARSENAL.

  • GOOD OLD HIGHBURY

  • Overall, a great video of this reunion tour.

The drummer, though, hasn't a real clue to the original Magic Bus, which was based upon a Bo Diddley beat. I sure do miss Keith Moon.

  • Bonzo and Keith....duel drummers in heaven...(don't wanna hear all you Buddy Rich freaks !! LOL

  • pfffft..ac/dc has nothing on The Who

  • are people really arguing that ACDC is better than The Who? haha thats funny, ACDC isnt even close to being on the same level as the who...

  • good song :)

  • fucken fucken fucken fucken retarted it sounds nothing like it

  • im liking the almost hip hop beat Zack has going in the begining. But I still love the Live at leeds version the best

  • acdc is a joke

    the who = number one

  • ac/dc rock, and so do the who. both bands fucking rock the balls.

  • get off the stage

  • 6 spence

  • Saw the Who at the first rock concert in Pontiac Stadium. Concert made the Guiness Book of Records for putting out the most decibals of sound. 1975. still can't hear good!!

  • Nah, AC/DC is awesome. I just don't agree that these guys weren't real rockers, cause they most definitely were.

Obviously after 30 or so years the band is going to be different-sounding. You can't expect the singer to keep the same voice he had about 30 years ago. Bottom line is The Who is still awesome.

  • AC/DC Is alright. I still think all there songs sound very simaliar but thats just me.But still you cant beat The Who =)

  • your fucking kidding me ac/dc songs sound alike,

  • Shut up you dont know what your talking about. AC/DC is terrible

  • i like AC/DC i think they rock but only with ben scott but the Who is way better, better lead singer, better guitarest, amazing bassist, and 1 of the worlds best drummers.

  • Thas Bon Scott buddy and the he was the greatest frontman ever and bro don't even think Townshend is anywhere near angus young's league, not even close townshend sounds like your typical guitarist out there he has no signature sound now where as angus only has to hit one note and you know it's him

  • not true. angus sucks compared to townshend. angus is bloody amazing, but townshend not only plays guitar, but he also sings, and writes all the material. angus said it himself that his biggest influences were chuck berry, The Who, and the beatles. townshend has a signature tone and playing style as well as angus but angus is just solo after solo, where townshend is amazing in his own respect Bar none. as for bon scott, him and daltrey (as well as mercury) were the greates frontmen of all time

  • ?????????????????????????? are you retarded i know townshend when i hear him and ya Scott was great and everything but AC/DC had no talent behind them aside from like one or two people but with the who all 4 of them had great talent Entwistle is the best bass player who ever lived, Moon is the best drummer who ever lived, Townshend is one of the best guitarists and songwriters, Roger Daltery redefined what is was to be a frontmen... so there

  • ac/dc dickhead are much more succesfull then these pussies who sing about shit atleast ac/dc have balls and know how to play rocknroll music not this shit and thats just what it is Plain and simple SHIT, Fuck all you cocksucking WHO fans

  • what the fuck is your problem?! if you don't like the Who, then don't watch the videos! simple as that, honestly.

  • i dissagree. AC/DC was amazing. they cant measure up to the who by a long shot though. i usta love AC/DC and i thought they were better than hendrix (i still think that, hendrix is overrated, but AC/DC is too anyway.) as for the Who. they are the most underrated band of all time. nobody says their great. they all go "Oh! the stones, the Beatles, Zeppelin, And Hendrix." thats not true. the Who are better than Hendrix and Zeppelin And Almost as good if not equal to the Stones, the beatles:legendary

  • Nobody says their great meybe cause their not great.

Sorry, I dont have anything to say, I've never heard anything from the who, before i Saw a Simpson episode of them.

But the point : Nobody says their great. Is a little stupid

  • well i dont agree, but to each his own i guess. the who are great but i think part of the reason nobody says that their great is because they didnt have alot of number 1 singles like everyone else. the who was great in my opinion and im sure in everbody elses opinion (anyone else who thinks the who is great) the reason that they are is because pete townshed wrote really deep material where led zepplin was all about sex pretty much, the stones are almost the same, and hendrix is just insane.

  • @amorrisseyprodromou:

'hendrix is just insane' - LOL! yeah

in fact hendrix is the universe itself. :-)

anyway - a comment on this vid:

    are they having communication problems?

look at around 3:00, does townshend want daltrey to join the vocal jam? and what does daltrey do?

or at about 8:00, does daltrey invite townshend to a jam and townshend won't join in?

hm. dunno. not the best version of 'magic bus'. IMHO the best is on the 'benefit for maryville' live album, cd1.

    anyway, nice music :)

  • ur crazy they r the greatest band ever

  • you know what i'm talking about then , how much crack have you smoked back in the days

  • I was at this show! tickets were $10!

  • are you serious?

  • Absolutely serious! I couldn't believe it either. I actually bought my tickets after they had been on sale for little while. It wasn't a 'Who' show, is the only reason. They were just one band. (the last band) And played one set for about 50 minutes.

  • Still Kickin' Asses.

  • is this available on dvd, the concert that is?

  • Yeah. I uploaded it before it came out, but it's available now and called "The Vegas Job."

  • anything from 2002 vegas

  • The studio version of Magic Bus sounds bit dull to me but these live renditions never fail to impress. This song simply rocks.

  • agreed. kind of strange how that works with the who, most bands fail to perform songs live with the same power in their songs as the studio versions.

..the who are the opposite, they perform live better.

  • Zak's better than most of the other Who drummers (Moon excluded).

  • lets face it you can't replace moon he is just too original great drummer but not keith, same with john

  • My favorite Who song next to 5.15

  • steve white was better than zak but is too busy playing for paul weller ....

  • yea right

  • by far ! study both drummers .... zax is a one trick pony dont get me wrong i like zax and what he brings to the who but not in the same class as whitey im afraid.

  • IDK about you guys, but Zak is my fave Who drummer after Moonie and Scott Halpin.

  • Im sure that if Pete didnt like the drumming that Zak wouldnt be doing it. Zak is the best drummer Ive heard that sat in Keiths seat.

  • For the most part Roger sings better than he used to

  • Roger just doesn't sing like he used to...
