  • Elvis & John lennon the most natural rock n roll singers ever

  • everyone who was at this meeting, remembers it differently, even the beatles told differing versions, john said they jammed with elvis, but the others say they didnt I guess we will never know, unless a reel to reel suddenly appears! If they did anything ,it would probably have been mohair sam. with elvis on bass..

  • I like this video..imaging being there for that jam!

  • Reading the comments for this video made me lose a little faith in humanity (then again, this is Youtube; what do you expect?). People are seriously arguing over who is better? Listen to what you like, no one else gives a fuck about who you prefer. Both artists are among the greatest of all time and deserve respect.

  • By the way, he could play the hell out of the piano and the guitar....Just saying....I know that you are a blind Beatle loyalist but you need to do a lot more fact checking instead of talking out your arse.

  • Actually, Elvis had more number 1 hits in the UK than the Beatles and was just 1 or 2 shy from beating them in the US (by himself). He also had more top ten hits and gold records than the Beatles. I think you may want to do a little more fact checking, Beatles 6919. Also, nobody has a true count of total records sold worldwide to date from either of these 2 acts. Most sources just say that Elvis and the Beatles have sold over 1 Billion records worldwide.

  • wa is the point in affin no audio no video ..was the parkers idea the queer

  • Which is the original video from which this excerpt has taken?

  • If this meeting we're video taped, it would've easily become the most treasured footage in music history. ELVIS PRESLEY and THE BEATLES jamming! WHAT!

  • Such a historic meeting and no photos were taken of it! Why? Maybe Elvis resented the Beatles a bit and so he personally didn't care to have photos snapped. But The Beatles idolized Elvis! Surely they'd want photos of the get together to keep for themselves and to show to their friends and family in England. I don't get it.

I wish someone would publicly ask Paul and/or Ringo why no photos were taken of their meeting with Elvis. Jay Leno? David Letterman? Somebody!

  • Great thing about music is being able to create it for the passion, digest it it with our Parlophonic/Stereo ears (whichever way you roll), and love us some classical rhythymy blues and porter house rock that the past has offered to most of us by great musicians of their time and forever more to come, youngin's and elders alike, both sides of the world, kiddos.

Stop this nonsensical "fan of this, fan of that" bull*, they collaborated with music, a good showman act of humanity if you ask me.

  • The Truth is this

    Greatest Bands

    Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Sones.

The Beatles wrote great songs not great singers and not great performers.

Led Zeppelin - all great Musicians No one can say different.

The Rolling Stones Great Performers , they were Dangerous when they came to town.

Elvis - Great Singer, Performer,Had Karisma like no one ,Great Looking = A Rock God.

All other will die and not be missed like Elvis all around the World.

Time will tell you that i am always right :)

  • @Prozacwierd The Beatles were the greatest band ever!! If you think mccartney and lennon had bad voices then you are a moron.. The Beatles had talent this is why when they broke up they could manage on their own(3 members in the hall of fame as solo artists) poor old mick has a vocal range of a daisy air pistol.. Beatles most #1 songs, most albums sold, most #1 albums and it took them only 7 years to do it.. I wont mention mccartney being the most prolific songwriter ever.. (guinees book) later

  • Respond to this video... How many hits did elvis write? how many instruments did he play? hmmmmmmm? I like elvis and i enjoy his music but please he was not a songwriter or could he play anything worth a shit.. strum a guitar and hit a few chords on a piano.. wow!!

  • actualy he co wrote a few dont be cruel for one that was a hit

and was a good guitarist just was not reconised enugh for it

you may want to get your facts right before you come on yt talking bull

  • @marycockburn1 ok so maybe he wrote a couple.. wow im so impressed.. and no he was not very good on the guitar.. give me a break.. my facts are straight jack.. i think the beatles lennon, mccartney and even harrison could out write elvis on their worst day.. hell even ringo wrote more hits then elvis.. elvis was a great singer and entertainer!! not a songwriter or musician.. these are facts!!

  • @Beatles6919 well wippie dooooooooooooooo

  • @Beatles6919 your a complete moron elvis was not very good on the guitar i take it you did not see the 68 special then? look think what you want on elvis presley i couldnt give a shit fact is he was and always will be the king of rock n roll. who cares wether he could play guitar and so fuck if he never really wrote any songs who cares

  • @marycockburn1 My point is the Beatles did NOT need anyone to write their songs or play their instruments . elvis did.. im sure elvis showed scotty moore some chords on the guitar.. lmao

  • mate lets forget it whats the point in arguing on yt its silly peace ok

  • @marycockburn1 exactly right, he showed his guitar skills on the 68 special & kathy westmoreland even said he was excellent on the piano; writing songs or not, FACT: he was a r & roll Pioneer, a good musician, entertainer & a super awesome Singer, Hands down & Undeniable.

  • Beatles fans Vs Elvis fans... seriosuly this saddens my heart deeply. PEOPLE, music is suppose to BRING US TOGETHER!! Music unites us! This is about five FUCKING amazing musicians that have shaped music forever in such a beautiful way!! Stop with the pointless arguing, it's getting you nowhere, only making you look like a rite tit! Stop acting like kids, grow up, and appreciate this video and the artists! Love the real music people, REAL talent! :D

Rest in peace Elvis, George and John!!xx

  • @XxGaarasGirlxX Priscilla was not outgrown when elvis was tagging it. she was 14 when she played with his little sausage. This is about 4 amazing musicians who changed the world. The Beatles are the number one.

  • @apple8bits How does this even got to do with his talent? He still wan an amazing singer and dancer and broke records worldwide. You cannot deny Elvis was "one of" the best.... even though I prefer The Beatles myself. :B

  • @XxGaarasGirlxX i'll give you the singing from 56 to 59. The dancing? you mean the karate chops on stage or the moves he stole from the black r&b singers of the times.

  • @apple8bits How can you steal dance? -_-;

I'm not going to argue with a judgemental bias boob who thinks that someone's personal life (whether in the right or wrong) makes them less of an artist. Charlie Chaplin fell in love and married young girls, young as in the age of perhaps 15. It's creepy but ya know what, doesn't stop him from being talented and a genius.

You can think Elvis wasn't all that 'cracked up to be', at the end of the day, it's just an opinion. Doesn't make you right. :)

  • @XxGaarasGirlxX thats because fans like you allow it by buying their product.

  • @apple8bits You're an absolute moron. Bye, done speaking to the child now...

  • @XxGaarasGirlxX The Truth hurts, but it has to be said. Most of you can't handle the truth. I feed off your anger girl or guy.

  • @apple8bits Ok. Just because the truth heartes, this means you are right. Educate yourself. Go f*ck yourself.

  • @VeranzaTheKing Well first of all the self copulation is impossible. Second, The truth is fact. The Beatles are Number One in the World, unlike Elvis who likes to marry little kids, is only famous in the backward bible bumping states (the south). Its not a question of being right, but knowing the facts. Read a book and open you mind you bible thumping imbecile. Have a good day.

  • @XxGaarasGirlxX The Best were Little Richard, Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, Ray Charles. These Musicians were 100 percent better than Elvis the priscilla molester.

  • bravo mate bravo couldnt have said it better myself mate. im sick of idiots on here saying stupid things like this i find it so stupid and extreamly childish

your coment was brilliant mate well said about time some one got these idiots told

  • @XxGaarasGirlxX XxGaarasGirlxX is spot on.

I love both so I really dont understand people who have too fight over who they think is best.. who cares. Opinion's are like assholes...So respect the fact that music brings people joy.

  • they where stiff alright, big hardons for the king, they knew then,he could out sing them, and out sell them, and he did, well done elvis..........

  • @grabar20 wake up and read a book, moron. you would be the type of person who believes what anyone says. This is biased information that you are listening to. The Beatles could not only outsing this Elvis junkie, but outwrite, outperform, outwit, outstyle, and outsell him. The Beatles just won a grammy again. They were just featured on American Idol. Elvis disappeared into those horrible films in the 60s. He never wrote a note to anything he sang. The Beatles have sold over a billion records.

  • @apple8bits You bent tit,ha ha ha ha,you go and read a history book,it will help with your very backward education, elvis and the rolling stones, far better. What was john lennon's last hit,the floor, and that other one the drummer, bongo,ha ha ha,grow a pair and smell the coffee, what a queer fag you are bum boy,ha ha ha....

  • @grabar20 as long as the tit is bent upwards, cool. Elvis was a junkie, pedophile, and thief while the Stones were given their first hit by, guess who, The BEATLES. You bitch, get off your smack and read a book for once. At least Lennon didnt die on the crapper like the loser that Elvis became. The Stones only wished they had the music The Beatles created, if you take the dick out of your ears and listen to how the stones copied the Beatles you would understand. Bitch.

  • @appleTITS,BOO HOO BOO HOO,ha ha ha,long live mark chapman, you queer turd, the stones are still out there, best rock and roll band in the world, ever,oh and elvis just said, george, john, clean my house, and shine my shoes, thank you very much,ha ha ha ha,bum boy....

  • @grabar20 the stones died in 1974 after that only monkeys like you listen to them. John and George cleaned his house alright with more number one hits and record sales. no go suck on your mommas teet.

  • Comment removed

  • @grabar20 well lets see.. The Beatles had more #1 songs then elvis, they have sold more albums then elvis and it only took them 7 years together to do it.. How many hit songs did elvis write? how many instruments could elvis play? hmmmm? what happed to elvis in the 60s when the Beatles were kicking his ass? They were both great in what they did so quit with the bullshit... do you think elvis would be nervous if he had met some of his idols? YES!! Its called respect..

  • @Beatles6919 go away you daft tit,boo hoo boo hoo.ha ha ha.

  • @Beatles6919 lets not forget elvis stopped recording music for 2 years while in the army, while his music & singing were improving. he was 23 years old, still with energy & enthusiasm. the natural course and success of elvise's careere were never to be because of the army. how would the beatles have done if say after 1966 they had to shut it down for 2 years? many athleats & entertainers were never quite the same after a layoff.

  • @jeryd2003 Thats true.. But the Beatles still only lasted 7 years.. After the Beatles broke up none of them had any problems with going solo.. they are still the two greatest artists bands ever!! no one can touch either of them.. there is Elvis and the Beatles and then there is everyone else..

  • @MeMrecious You're fighting an Elvis fanbase.... These people are fucking crazy....

  • @FatmanCaufield

    I realizes that already.

    Try these two for weight:

    Elvis the pelvis...

    Beatles the COMPOSERS

ha ha ha ha NO CONTEST !!!

  • @MeMrecious LMFAO! You fucking n00b.

  • @MeMrecious sure mr tonedeaf

  • @moparterry

Oh I see.... The Beatles sang many of Elvis songs, then ?!??

    Which ones ?

  • @moparterry

    Sorry, didn't hear ya !?

    Elvis the pelvis... LOLOLOLOL

    Beatles the COMPOSERS !!!

  • @MeMrecious (Com)Posers yes.....Singers not a chance....Ever see that picture with Lennon wearing a jumpsuit with the name ELVIS stitched on it?....You are really a dumbass not to reconize the talent and immense popularity of Elvis....John Lennon did, why don't you?

  • @moparterry I ask you a question......why didn't you answer??? I wonder ??? Again, your hero John did, why don't you??? HA HA HA HA

  • @MeMrecious Probably becaue John Lennon was INTELLEGENT. Try it out sometime.

  • @moparterry

and he probably could spell unlike you.

THE BEATLES TRANSFORMED THIS PLANET FROM A BORING INTO AN EXCITING PLACE TO LIVE IN

Beatles music is for the intelligent.... you excluded... HA HA HA HA

  • Comment removed

  • I even like Ringo better than Elvis....

  • @FatmanCaufield what a daft tit you are,put it back in your pants and grow up,what a bum boy,ha ha ha ha ha.....

  • Elvis meets the Beatles? no, beatles meets Elvis

  • @adrivbpoa Yeah. Hey Elvis, meet some guys that actually write their own music... and perform it.

  • @adrivbpoa

Nope.... It was Elvis who was petrified of the Beatles.... with good reason, LOL !

  • @MeMrecious wrong....none of the beatles could even sing worth a damn....john lennon always carried that machine with him to studio sessions that covered his off key singing.....lennon/ mccartney wrote in flats because of their voices....get your facts strait....Elvis couldn't write....none of the beatles could sing....case closed

  • @moparterry Well, I do think Paul could sing. You cant deny that. Paul and Elvis are two of the most versatile singers ever.

  • @traf1852 The beatles did do lots of early Elvis....Check out Paul in Let it Be Part 1 at about 8:00 min.....they loved Elvis and Elvis appriciated the beatles....Lennon went to many Elvis concerts in the early 70's....they liked each other's music....Period

  • @moparterry Truth be told, Elvis disliked the Beatles because of their social impact. He wanted to be a Federal agent and inform on drug users and dealers and so-called subversives. He even got a badge from Richard Nixon. There a famous-or infamous-picture of it. Look it up and you'll see that this is true...

  • @musikfanat He disliked their later sixties lifestyle, not their music....he sang some of their music in his concerts, and truth be known, he could have sang anyone's music and his fans would have listened....he liked some of their sounds, disliked thier lifestyles....and by the way, I seen the picture of him shaking hands w/ nixon and read his hand written note to Nixon...but he did like some of their music....he loved George's "Something"

  • @moparterry

    Period in the wrong place.

There was program on UK tv yesterday that started "THE IMPACT OF BEATLES MUSIC IS YET NOT QUITE GRASPED TODAY...."

Elvis music ? LOL grasped years ago. The Beatles published hundreds of SUPER music. Elvis only half a dozen. And, yes, he was a good actor, though and The Beatles were poor actors. but then The Beatles did not have the need to expand as Elvis had to when his popularity died out when the Beatles came in!!

  • @MeMrecious If it has not been "grasped" in 40 plus years, it probably will never be "grasped" Last Number 1 Hit? Elvis 2004....Last Beatles top 40? 1970's...Last top 40 for any Beatle? 1980's...Most visited private home behind The White House every year since 1984? EVERY SINGLE YEAR? Graceland...social impact?...Staying Power? Please...No Comparison

  • @moparterry

Elvis invented himself ONCE and that was it. He remained that whole self for ever until he died, obese. The Beatles kept re-inventing themselves, each time more successfully than the previously. You love Elvis, I find him boring. We will never agree but one thing is certain... The Beatles, at least in Europe, wiped the first 20 places in the Top 100 each and every time they issued a record. The Beatles were the most listened to band in history. The LP of the century is Sgt Pepper

  • @MeMrecious I vote up, but I disagree on Sgt Pepper..... Abbey Road (for me) is the greatest piece of music ever written....

  • @FatmanCaufield

I love all their albums but, for some reason,. Revolver is the one for me followed by Sgt Pepper but Abbey Road.

By the way, I live near Abbey Road and pass by their studio regularly, everyday, on the way to work and drive over that ultra-famous pedestraian crossing everyday (always full of Japanese walking across it, LOL). I was once asked by a German couple to take a picture of both of them walking across it.

Abbey Road studios is still there.

  • @MeMrecious Nice! I only get to look at a poster of Abbey Road since I'm in the US. BTW, How could I forget Revolver!!! It's tough when it comes to The Beatles, I mean-Rubber Soul-Amazing.... I can definitely say I like everything they've done after and including RS. The older stuff, I'm not that into....

  • @MeMrecious Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, and MMT are what I like to think of as their Psychedelic Trilogy. Those 3 albums really go together.

  • @moparterry

    Last Elvis hit 2004 ?

    Morbid curiosity, LOL

There was program on UK BBC- tv yesterday that started

"THE IMPACT OF BEATLES MUSIC IS YET NOT QUITE GRASPED TODAY...."

Elvis music appealed to the young girls of the 1950s. The Beatles appealed to all ages. You could hear peole in China singing Beatles music onthe streets. The Beatles took the English laguage TO EVERY CORNER OF THE GLOBE.

And denying it now will not work. It is well known that ELVIS WAS SCARED OF THE BEATLES.

  • @moparterry

    Most visit house, Elvis.

LOL Of course. The USA has 200 million people. The Beatles were four and besides they never lived in the same place, LOL

Nah. Elvis was importnat and is a true icon but "THE IMPACT OF BEATLES MUSIC IS YET NOT QUITE GRASPED TODAY...."

  • @moparterry

How many songs of the Beatles did Elvis sing ?

How many Elvis' songs did the Beatles sing ?

  • @moparterry

"social impact" -- How about musical impact ? LOL

  • @moparterry He had a very nice voice, yes, but, he is no king to me-that's all. As`much as I Love Jimi Hendrix, I don't idolize him. Can you listen to only Elvis 24/7 forever? I doubt it. He didn't like their Lifestyle, yet, he was a bigger dope addict than most people.

Celebrity worship is dead. If people spent half as much time worshiping the true King and Living as`He would have us Live, the world would be better off...

  • @traf1852 Who can copy Elvis?.....no one any good

  • @moparterry Who would want to copy a copier?

I liked Elvis for his acting. He could have been an A Class actor if he hadn't been a pop star. He was truly talented as an actor. Look at his movies up to Wild in the Country. His films after that were just corny money making vehicles...

  • @musikfanat no one can copy his voice right. Thousands have tried, everyone failed. The impersonators are all obviously just terrible. Elvis had a quality of his own in his voice and his expression in his great days, second to none. He sang other peoples music, but he had his own soul. It comes out in the music. Just listen closely. Give it up on the "elvis vs the beatles" crap. He had soul. The lifestyle killed him and his health...should have slowed down and got healthy....or at least tried

  • @joelmc73 That's right....all the greats credit Elvis for his contributions......Period

  • @traf1852 Elvis' fame NEVER died off.......Neither did the Beatles.....Stupid comparisons.....

  • The meeting took place beacuse the Beatles wanted to meet Elvis like crazy.

Elvis was a religious figure for all english rockers.

  • @MAGICO240 u got it right

  • I did not read about the meeting like this. I read that John didn't actually want to meet Elvis anymore. Don't know why, but he didn't. After convincing John to come along, they got to Elvis' place and John broke out in a German accent "So zis is zee famous Elvis!". Then when they all sat down, they got into a bit of a heated conversation because of some lamp Elvis had that said something like "Good Job in southwest Korea!". John was against the war even at that point and the mood wasn't good.

  • @KingdomofConnor what a disrespectful douchebag - the more I hear about John Lennon the more I dislike him.

  • @cryptsub Granted, when he was in his 30's, he said that he regretted acting like an idiot when he was younger.

  • @KingdomofConnor and the Beatles almost ruined rock n roll - thank god for yoko

  • @cryptsub You know, I really can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not...

  • @KingdomofConnor where's the source for that story?....never heard that before....only heard they jammed for a hour or two on guitars and such.....

  • @moparterry I read a biography of Paul McCartney. I think it's pretty reliable because the author spent so much time researching.

  • After the Beatles left, Elvis remarked to some of his 'boys' about how bad their (Beatles) teeth looked and wondered why they didn't have better dental care since they were rich as sin. [Fact]

  • Dammit, I want the audio of them playing together !!! I'll build a goddamn time machine one day !

  • TOO BAD THERE ARE NO PHOTOS....

  • No audio or photos was a pre condition agreed by Parker and Epstein. Paul george and ringo deny any jamming took place on the anthology DVD

  • Gettymart will know his role and his role will be on his knees, I mean stubs and worship "THE KING".

  • Damn it! Why didn't someone at least take one lousy photo of this meeting?! Elvis and all four of The Beatles together for crying out loud!

  • ONE photo that leaked out was John leaving Elvis's Bel- Air home and that was a bad quality photo but probably original. It makes you think if there are some cool photos out there hidden in some tight security vault.

  • The biggest solo artist ever to exist meets the biggest band ever to exist...and noone thought to take a single photo.

  • min 1:00 Oh sh#@! Nobody got that on fu%$in tape? The King and The Fab Four jammin? Fu%$in Memphis Mafia retards!!!

  • non c'è mai stato, non c'è e non ci sarà mai piu' uno come elvis.

  • @dalivoice Come nessuno di noi, ma i Beatles sono sempre i Beatles.

  • Elvis made a great contribution to rock music, but, king? I don't think so. He didn't write his hits or play guitar to any effect. Great image, great attitude-pre-army that it.

There was a royal triumvirate in rock music-Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry. They wrote and played their hits. EVERY rock guitarist has and will play Chuck Berry licks on his guitar.

  • @musikfanat

Yes and Sinatra, Mario Lanza, Nat King Cole ever wrote their own songs?

The Beatles could not sing half as well as elvis. Regarding Berry and Little richard, yes they were great, why make comparison instead of consider each ones contributions? This is a subjective judgement.

  • @chinchonchinchon I totally agree with all that you have said, that is why I don't think of Elvis as a king. He was good, but, not the best, to me...

  • @musikfanat That's your problem. Elvis is the king if you share it or not. It is the reallity.

  • @susananieto2010 You are from Argentina. You do not know the history of America and the music that we made. Most of the popular music created in America came from Black people. rock n roll was Black music. We made it first. Any history professor can tell you that. Argentina is the home of great tango. America is the home of rock. Elvis loved Black music and he did good. But it was OUR MUSIC FIRST!!!

  • @musikfanat get ovey yourself.....it's everybody's music...jeez

  • @moparterry Of course it is now everyone's music. But it started with black music.

    You're hatin'-I'm just sayn'...

  • @chinchonchinchon I'm going to make a lot of people angry now-Elvis was a much better singer than Sinatra. He had more range and a fuller voice. as a matter of fact,

Tony Bennett is much better than Sinatra, to me, but Frankie was a great actor-one of my fave. Sinatra was a triple threat-singing, acting, dancing!!!

  • @musikfanat Sinatra sucked

  • @moparterry don't go to Brooklyn and say that Sinatra sucked-you'll find yourself "sleeping with the fishes"!

    Hahahahaha!

  • @musikfanat Elvis made a great contribution...? If you think he only made a "contribution" then you don't know the pop music history. Without Elvis nothing would exist now. Bill Haley was a fat stupid entertainment, Chuck Berry played the same riffs and intros in almost all his songs, Jerry Lee Lewis hadn't a great voice and he didn't give us a real scenic shows. Believed me, without Elvis you wouldn't be listening your favourite music now.

  • @susananieto2010 Im 58. He was playing "our" music-Black Music! I like Elvis, but, I don't think that the sun rises and sets on him...

you're the one that doesn't know about pop music. Chuck Berry was there long before Elvis. Jerry Lee Lewis was a great showman and he played great piano and wrote his songs. EVERY rock guitarist plays Chuck Berry...

  • @susananieto2010 And Chuck Berry is a poor interpreter. Ok, I like his musics, because, c'mon, he's a rocker. But, I mean, he looks died singing Johnny B. Goode. But I think Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and rest are good, but not like Elvis and The Beatles.

  • @VeranzaTheKing The bottom line is these people creates what Elvis stole, that is a fact. Elvis mostly stole from Little Richard (the architect of Rock and Roll). I wipe my ass with the pictures of Elvis.

  • @susananieto2010 marvelous comment

  • @musikfanat Bullshit

  • @moparterry Bull****? Oh, I see-that is what your opinion is worth...

  • @musikfanat Staying power?....Last Number One Hit.....Elivs 2004....Last Number One Hit for any four of the Beatles?....1980 something....Lasting effect?....Graceland Number One visited private home behind the White House EVERY year since it was opened in 1984....Every SINGLE YEAR!.....effect on people?.....Paul is great, but cant get a hit in the modern day....Elvis went out sooooo bad and still gets hits....Lasting power? Please

  • @moparterry You're funny!

  • @musikfanat I'm accurate

  • @musikfanat and I'm a Beatles fan, Paul McCartney fan, John Lennon fan, a George Harrison fan, a Ringo Starr fan. They have all had great solo careers as well. And as much as I really like them all, none of them solo were the phenomenon called Elvis

  • @moparterry But when they were together as the Beatles, they were.

  • @MeMrecious agreed.....:)

  • Why is that any good for the fans... so you can sell your story ???

    1:09

  • The 60's were the lost Elvis years as far as I'm concerned. Of course the Beatles were bigger then Elvis in the 60's because Elvis wasn't touring or putting out albums. But when the Beatles broke up Elvis started doing live performances again and took back America by storm.

  • What I would have given to be a bee (or a fly, whatever) and get to fly unnoticed witnessing that meetin

  • I dont think so, I someone got paid to rerereremember and this"jamming" i think it sound like a real bad penthouse forum story, knowing they are lying i almost feel sorry for how bad they need the attention or money.. NOW if I hear paul say something different (NOW)i will retract.... otherwise GO STROKE !

  • i bet the jam was trouly amazing

  • yessir, des pals!!

  • Comment removed

  • funny that anyone will even say the Beatles topped Elvis that's four against one still Elvis managed to out sell everybody including Led Zepplin who came into town to play that very night,Elvis sold out they didn't. Robert Plant came to his hotel to hang out with Elvis after their shows, Robert is a huge Elvis fan and couldn't stop talkin about the King same with the beatles! On Elvis's Madison Square show he was the only performer to have sold it out 4 consecutive times in a row,

  • I guess what was left of the Beatles at that point was they knew who the king was since John and George were in attendance cheering him on and that is a slap in the face!! The King will always reign over everyone who came and went even the Beatles do agree would have too...ask Plant!!.

  • they were both great in there own ways, but like Pulp Fiction says you can only be an ''Elvis Man'' or a "Beatles Man" not both.

  • i disagree, i love them both, elvis as a solo performer and beatles as a group. there is no competition, they both made the music world better. It's funny how southern born american elvis gets trashed for doing rhythm and blues yet sixties british acts get away with it. totaly unfair for elvis to be crucified for recording the material he loved in his youth.

  • he met the beatles in california in his house...they must be waiting on him for one hour because he lays on his couch and practised with a fenderbass

  • elvis.

  • You'd think a video about the the Beatles meeting Elvis would at least have some decent background music

  • Listen to the ladies for none can know better... The King that's what Elvis was without a doubt, still is! if anyone does have any...kindly visit me for further proof. :0)

  • Oh please can i join in! Let me tell you all how it is so listen kids,The Beatles could sing one style of music,Elvis could sing all kinds of music thats why the World dubbed him the King he is the Greatest Entertainer of our time,he was the reasons the Beatles were born! Please do not compare Elvis with anyone as he stands alone! There are many great singers & bands for sure, but only one King! Elvis's Career spaned 20 yrs,The Beatles were all over by 1970!TCB/TLC

  • 6) Hearing Paul on different interviews talking about Elvis and what he meant to the Fab Four might give you a good idea to shut up till you know what you're talking about.

Next time you post , say something intelligent guys ,or nothing at all !

    ------

R.I.P John & George you are greatly missed but never forgotten!

  • @simonetr81

It's called respect for the elders. Artists always pay verbal homage to their seniors.

  • 5) I love the Beatles. The Beatles were great, and I mean GREAT, and their music is lasting but did the great John Lennon said - "Before Elvis there was nothing. Nothing really affected me until I heard Elvis. If there hadn't been Elvis, there would not have been The Beatles " - or not?!

I think if you were to talk to the Beatles they'd probrably give you a rap across your face for putting Elvis down.

  • I like your style girl..IFICould

  • 4) And regarding - Elvis never "rocked"- : Why don't you watch and listen to his earlier recordings and TV + concert appearances? The way he sang was stripped down, snarling, raw, and authentic. What rock is supposed to be. And the "raw Elvis" had a damn fine sense of unadulterated rockin'!!

  • 3) Is it so hard to look inside of yourself after realizing just how much of an impact he had on The Beatles. His music is just boiled down to the purest of emotions and he had a way of making a song so unique that you can feel what the intent of the songs are. He made every song an emotional journey that locked you in and brought you along. Elvis' voice prepares the mind for the images the songs are painting and builds emotions, not just dish it out.. That's why nobody can reach his class.

  • 2) When The King is on with his singing and performance, you can't compare him to anyone!

Please tell me you're just being sarcastic !?!

The Beatles are great musicians but competing him to The King is unrealistic.

This is like mustard and ice cream.

The Beatles are a rock-pop band. Elvis is an entertainer who could sing anything like Blues, Country, Pop, Rock and Roll, Gospel, and beyond...!

  • 1) I don't see your conclusion, guys? Pavarotti never wrote an opera. So he is NOT one of the greatest artists? Margot Fontayn, Nijinsky or Barishnikov never composed any ballets and does that makes them overrated nobodys?

I don't see why writing his own songs or not would take away anything from the fact that he was the greatest entertainer there was, and the best there ever will be. It's one thing to write a song, it's another to sing?

Especially the way Elvis Aaron Presley could !

  • The English bands of that time..and really most of them since...all admired American rock and emulated it in their own music. And sometimes the reverse is true nowadays. Its ROCK!

Who does it matter who influenced you if you can make good music?

  • When Lennon saw those girls screaming for Elvis, that's when he said he wanted to do with his life. It wasn't Elvis' music that influenced them but his fame. Their influences were Little Richard, Ray Charles, Bill Haley, Carl Perkins and Chuck Berry. These are songwriters/musicians. Elvis is just a crooner like Sinatra, Pat Boone or Bing Crosby. He got lucky somebody advised him to change his style from country to R n' R or he probably died driving trucks. Not to mention dying his hair black.

  • Elvis got lucky someone advised him to change his style??? Elvis' style changed as he matured as a man and performer, not because he was advised as you state. And to make yourself look even more ignorant , you bring up the fact that Elvis dyed his hair. Makes me wonder why I've even wasted my time with you. IFICould

  • The fact that Elvis never wrote his own songs. From the begining Elvis was so in demand he had no time to write his own songs. Song writers were standing in line praying Elvis would do one of their songs. Musicians was honorerd to play back-up for him, on stage, in the studio or just jamming.

  • In the Beatles Anthology Paul, George and Ringo say they dont remember jamming with Elvis. One of them (cant remember which one) does say that it had been written that maybe John did but they couldnt recall.

  • john himself said ''before elvis there was nothing'' !!!!

  • Sounds to me like Elvis was rude..

Oh they will pass elvis in the next 2 years in sales ...believe it... elvis was just an entertainer he abandoned us in the early 60's by making B grade Hollywood movies ..The Fab 4 woke us up ! the Beatles made music...

The boys were songwriter/musicians and great ones at that ..

  • BEATLES BEATLES FOREVER. i admire elvis, but beatles revoluted the music, the social behaviour, the world.

  • None of the Beatles alone had the impact that Presley caused with his presence.

  • Conseidering that Elvis died more than 30 years ago and stillselling more albums than some artist alive who cares if the beatles want to be number one

Mccartney can still talk to promote the beatles he is alive Elvis can't he is Dead

Elvis is and always remain number one the fab four watched Elvis in tv before behing what they become.
