It's like choosing a sword. Sure a big claymore seems like the way to go if you're standing in the middle of a big open field but usually that ain't the way it is and in an alley a rapier will skewer the claymore guy before he can swing the damn thing.
They always review these bikes magazines in ideal conditions. Sure if you're on a closed road with sweeping curves with 50 mph speed limits the liter bike will kill a 600 cc bike. It makes more power and it should. In the real world however when you're riding in traffic and through town and watching for cops and pickup trucks backing out in front of you the lightness and fast response times of the smaller bike are much going to beat a heavy bike every time.
The street triple is significantly lighter, remeber, it also depends on rider experience.. The R6 was pulling amazing corners, being a super sport so.. Yah, definitely possible. The 1000 has the advantage in a top speed contest though :) .. Amazing video!!
@kirbienstien Actually a tight track like this favors low end power over top end. The problem for the z is it has all its power in the mid-high range and cant use it on this track and it's a heavy bike to throw around on a tight track with it's longer rake and odd front suspension setup.
how is that possible? the Z has more power than the r6 or street triple, and gets its ass handed on every straight? something not right here :P i mean, i wouldnt be surprised if it was slower in turns, but on straights it should be on par with the r6 and a bit faster than the triple...

z1000 is all low end power, r6 is upper end meaning it does better on a track.
