It might also be prudent to have an amplified ukulele when playing with others. Al's volume is good next to a mic but if anyone is talking it becomes harder to hear. I think I have seen someone use a nose or an tongue to strum, or seriously, a prosthesis with a pick-like attachment if someone wanted to strum.
