The filming was made of forward and reversed parts.

The dialogue was the 'backwards reversed' trick, however Coopers dialogue is not.

@rualx i was under the impression the dialogue was recorded as audio in reverse, then lipsynced, in normal, so that much of the video footage was actually forwards (not all of it)

@rualx They didn't actually film it in reverse. They filmed it normally, but manipulated the dialogue.

All the actors said the sounds of words backwards, and then those were reversed so they sounded like a weird reverse language.
