ok, but i can't seem to do it with two digit numbers as opposed to 9 ? What do i do if the number doesn't go into the last answer ie 62050 divided by 17?
@glad2teach thanx for this video but at the end of your video it states that it works for 8 to but i tryed it and for some reason i can nvr come up with the right answer is there another step for numbers besides 9 because also you said something about base 10 at the end can you explain how i would do it for numbers other than 9
This is really AWESOME!!! I even love practicing it!!! I think that bigger digits don't slow me down that much because I watched and practiced the fast math part first. This is FUN!!!
sorry but numbers like 221013 or 32142 are not random, they have too small digit, for example 746837- your method still work but it isn't fast way (not the fastest), random numbers have usually bigger digits
Thank Is Is VEry USe Ful To Me I Like It... :)) THanKYOU CAuse IM So Dumb IN MAth :((BE cause Of it I KNOw NOW THE sHortcut but ican divide.... HAhahahaha.. :))
@MilkyWay763 yes it worked for me example 56/9 bring the 5 down 5+6 =11 so 9 goes into 11 1 time with a remainder of 2 so 5+1 is 6 and bring the remainer over and it becomes 6.2
@MarcAngelo26 I got 23360, are you sure you're doing it right?
Before the last digit I got 23359 so then only add the 4 to the 9 giving you 14 and that means you add the 1 to the last digit you had, being 9 so that in turn becomes 10 making the 5 a 6. Then you still have 3 left so the answer would be 23360 with 4 to spare (I don't think you can do decimals like this)
1/9=0.111..., 11/9=1,222..., 12/9=1,333..., 14/9=1,555555556...why is that?
And 97/9=10,7777...8, and 945/9=105. 9/9=1, so it would be weird if 97/9=9,777 or something, but what about the other divisions? How do we calculate that faster?
Dear ColorMeMidori, you have a good observation !! However it is not always that the first digit of the question would be the first digit of your answer as well. There can be a Carry backward digit that can get added to the first answer digit.
i got an easy way for this video just simply 221013 / 9 22/9 = 2 it has remainder for and be partner to the next number 4 is the remainder then it will be 41/ 9 = 4 5 is the remainder partner it to the next number 50/9 = 5 5 is the remainder partner it to the next number 51/9 = 5 6 is the remainder then partner it to the next number 63/9 = 7 then the answer is 24557
A very quick scan of this video suggests this is taken from the speed mathematics system that Jakow Trachtenberg divised, yes ? If so, I hope you're going to pay him due credit at some point, especially given where he was when he devised it !
Dear BubbbaJay, this EasyCal technique is based on the interpretation of the ancient Vedic Mathematics from India. Vedic Math dates back to 3000 years. I am not aware if the great Trachtenberg has mentioned the same technique in the book he wrote in prison.
The modern system of counting we humans use today ( it is called " Decimal Place Value System" ) is based on Base 10 . It was discovered in India ( type " Base 10" in google and read..... ).
@glad2teach do you know that prophet Adam the father of all of us taught us the math, math is a science from heaven not a human developed science, why people insist that math is invented by some ancient culture, how man could know even how space work without a beginning clue from his father :)
omg thank you so much i always had problem with division but i made a promise to myself that i would push myself to do the bast and school starts tommorow so im reviewing everything just incase and this video helped me soooo much! so tytytytytytytytytytytytytytytytytytytytytyty ! you just totally mad me feel confident bout math again lol :D
I felt like an idiot when you said I must have got the first 3 or 4 digits of the answer, because I was totally blocked. I didn't know how to start calculating and couldn't even get one digit. :(
Good question !! Not a problem if your teacher hates Remainders. You can give her the answer as Decimal. For Example - while dividing by 9 if you get the Remainder 3 then in decimal form ( way a calculator shows the answer ) it would be .3333_ _
If it is 6 then in the decimal form it would be .6666_ _ . So on
@Videomaster5555 So I'm noticing that this method only really seems to work for me with low numbers (such as 123322 as it's made up of a string of low numbers) where as high numbers ( such as 7766852) never came close.
Can you break the method down and apply it to a large number (comprised of high end integers) ?
Another way to do calculation for this is, when your number (X digit) goes in 2 digits(p.x 15,12,17 etc) do /// X-9 = the next digit in line ////// ,im pretty sure that works (if i understood the reasoning behind this) and this away you'll avoid carrying big numbers in the end to divide by 9
Thanx for this video! Always amazed at how some ppl can see and utilize the properties of some numbers.
2digit: is 18 but since it is the last digit it is the remainder. Then you have to check if the remainder can be divided by the divisor of 9 and it can. This gives a value of 2(18/9=2). If you add 2 to the first digit you get 11. T
Of course you don't use this technique on such a small number.
dude...its impossible to mentally divide within 6sec by using what school teaches lolz ! i saw the question,i rather not do and go straight to the solution

@hunkyjelly noob you didnt add one decimal, i checked ! do it again you'll get it !
sanvedlop 3 weeks ago
Dear hunkyjelly, your Ques: 8681140/9
As shown in the Easycal Video above, you just need to keep adding Digits in this pattern
8 (8+6) ( 8+6+8 ) ( 8+6+8+1 ) ...like that... put the last Digit Sum separately
8 (14) (22) (23) (24) (28) last digit sum is also (28 ). This 28 would get divided by 9 to get 3 (Remainder 1 or .11111 in Decimal )
Taking Care of Carrys ( Ten's digit of all 2 digit no.s ) & add that 3
9 6 4 5 7 1 . 111 ( ANSWER )
Method is easy as we are adding just single digits.

Does the digit 8 at the beginning and/or end of a number with 1-9 digits in the middle (like 818 and 8568) ruin the trick?
evacookie913 1 month ago
1/9=0.111..., 11/9=1,222..., 12/9=1,333..., 14/9=1,555555556...why is that?
And 97/9=10,7777...8, and 945/9=105. 9/9=1, so it would be weird if 97/9=9,777 or something, but what about the other divisions? How do we calculate that faster?

Like the classic way.
221.013 / 9 = 221013 / 9000
So first do
221013 / 9
then divide by 1000, which should be not that hard ;), because its only putting a dot to the third (three 0 in 1000) place from right.
1)
221.013 / 9 => 221013 / 9 => 24557 => 24,557

OhhMyTacos 5 months ago
@OhhMyTacos it works fine:
1st digit: 9
2digit: is 18 but since it is the last digit it is the remainder. Then you have to check if the remainder can be divided by the divisor of 9 and it can. This gives a value of 2(18/9=2). If you add 2 to the first digit you get 11. T
Of course you don't use this technique on such a small number.

Serious question. Is this the same method as the grid-matrix method I've seen for multiplication?

@glad2teach First of all, thank you for your tricks, but I have a problem:
How will you divide 479853 by 9 according to this trick? I tried it, but got the wrong answer.
justsmilehomie 7 months ago
@justsmilehomie
4 7 9 8 5 3 divided by 9
after using glad2teach method , u'll get :
4 11 20 28 33 36
by carrying forward , u'll then get
5 3 3 1 3 36
( while carrying forward, when 8 + 3 , eventually u will b getting 11 [a extra 1 for the third number]. )
thn 36 divded by 9 , u'll get 4.
Add it up, there is the answer 53317
^^ hope tat tis solves your problem....
