Easy fix. Privatize schools. The Government can't even operate a post office profitably. Why hand our children's future over to them as well?
Not to mention the absolute disaster that is about to hit the United States when they come face to face with the effects associated with a government paying for people to go to college on the tab of those that are not.

@RevolutionRequired post office was never supposed to be profitable...it doesn't get enough money to do so. and about the public schooling. If we privatize it, it will be easily and horribly exploited to make sure that only the top of the top will be educated and we will go back to a systematic hierarchy...

@RevolutionRequired Would not privatization of schools enlarge the already visible and dividing gap between the priviledged and the underpriviledged? Privatization of schools seems to me a definitive mechanism for decreasing overall social mobility.

@kyonist Actually competition lowers prices. Its only when government gets involved that free market is broken and prices go up out of control. This is what decreases social mobility. You should check out the documentary called College Conspiracy put out by the National Inflation Association. Ever since the government has been subsidizing loans for college, college tuition has skyrocketed.

Furthermore, the USPS is a quasi part of the Federal Government and if you look at how the Federal Government needed money for whatever they took it from the postal service. And private schools are no better then public ones. It is the parents of unruly kids that need dealing with. Not the teachers.
