  • Charlie Allen, one of the great but all but forgotten voices in music. thanks for this post!

  • Ah shit, Lenny Kravitz in his early days!

  • The guitar player, Greg Schwartz, was the original guitarist in The James Gang. He was replaced by ---- Joe F'ing Walsh, and the rest is history.

  • Great music I was living in Guadalajara when I heard this song for the first time I think I was twelve years old!

  • ONE OF THE TRUE FORGOTTEN TREASURES OF THE 70"S!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING!!!!!

  • Had totally forgotten this early 70's hit. Never hear it on any of the oldie or classic rock stations. Thanks for posting!!!

  • Love this song. Never seen them before. Good job doing this live. I love seeing old hippie bands who were played their music tight, instead of doing sloppy jams.

  • Love this song. Never seen them before. Good job doing this live.

  • What a fabuous band. I saw them at Sick's stadium in Seattle . They warmed up the crowd for Janis Joplin. It was a hot summer day and everyone was on their feet, dancing , the whole concert. Now the stadium is a hardware store, the music is gone, and I'm moving from vintage to antique. When I hear great music like this, suddenly I"m 20 againj Thanks for posting it!

  • Wow!,what a great groove and sound they had going.Great performance IMO.

  • had just gotten home from from Vietnam and OUT of the USAF...before America got SO fucked up....a GOOD time to be alive!

  • Isn't this one of the songs in Alvin Ailey's Revelations?? Great R & B.

  • here is one for " taueubchen "

  • ¡¡¡¡¡¡Great Great song and band!!!!!!

  • THERE IS A LONGER VERSION OF THIS POST

  • One of the best Funk Soul sounds of the late 60s/70s. The FANTASTIC guitar solo is sadly edited out of this re-issue. Listen to the original 45rpm short version and turn it up LOUD. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be available as a video. Mick C.

  • The even earlier 2:40 edit's what I recall many a time on AM./FM radio.

  • Yes, this is an edited version, I for one am happy to see this as I thought the guitar solo was a distraction. Apparently others feel the sane way, it's awful!

  • This is an edited version. Glenn Schwartz' insane guitar solo is edited out. Shane Shame. Search out the uncut original.

  • Are you sure that is Glenn? He left the band shortly after the studio version was cut, in 1970. And this looks to be a later lineup.

I'm not an expert, so cut me some slack if I'm wrong. Trying to find out for sure, who that is though.

I found another source that says it is Paul Warren, which is kind of sketchy, since he would be a teenager if this is before 1975.

I believe the bass player is Frank Petricca, which would date this after Schwartz left.

  • @tommylord Your right. The guitarist here is not Glenn Schwartz. Schwartz looks like George Harrison with the long straight brown hair and a beard/gotee. Check Y-tubes "stormy times" ----Schwartz is there.

  • @tommylord The Guitar player IS Paul Warren!! And yes, I was just a young teen at the time!

  • @PaulWarrenProject Cool, thanks for clearing that up Paul. You had some mean chops for high school kid.

I was only 11 years old when PG&E released the single, and this is an excellent live take.

  • An early funk/rock classic, rellly cool to see it.Thanks for posting it.

  • excellent +++
