this video is brilliant im a huge huge Mann fan plus im a Miami Vice fan it litterly is one of my all time greatest films along with Heat and The Insider... this is a 5 star video... but towards the end i was hoping that you would add the Fade to black then have it say "Miami Vice" just like it does at the end of the film.. to me it is one of the films charms when sonny runs back to the hospital and the viewer is just show a "Miami Vice" logo ending.. but other than that i loved this video...
I thought the movie had good production values, cinematography, and acting but the story was sorely lacking and uninvolving while the energy was too low and music average. Only the Moby song featuring Patti Labelle really brought back the feel of the series. Again it didn't have to be exactly like the show but at least have the spirit of it, which it didn't. The JJ Abrams Star Trek movie brilliantly captured the Shatner series while also being it's own entity.
This production is much better than the series orinal, which incidentally, turned out to be declining every year. This film is serious, dark, grim and realistic, with a great job of director, and very beautiful photo and wonderful soundtrack. Excellent production, I think one of the best thrillers I've ever seen.
It may not be as good as the original for sure. But overall, the movie wasn't too bad either. The remake is just simply using the same concept as the TV Series only much more modernize and something Michael Mann kind of give this film at least a good try.
Great music/video/edit. Your video is better than the studio commercial. The movie was great after I watched it a few times. It got better the more I watched it.
@pinoi78 no they had a cover there - in director cut the song is playing when they going for a showdown in the orginal at the end... the dc used it much better but i still think cover sucks compare to collins version.. and i really felt for that movie as deeply as i always felt for collins air.... im happy that i could show all of you on what level i connected both.... collins is really amazing dummer ;P

i think the movie was pretty good, underrated as a lot of people are saying...but when i heard they were making a miami vice movie i kinda expected it to be set in the 80's with all the wicked tunes from that era...that would have been safe!! anyway, thats gonna have to be one for your imagination...
Forget a Miami Vice movie. A Grand Theft Auto Vice City movie would b a helluva lot better. Who amongst us would not enjoy cruising down the road doing drivebys to Annekas Japanese Boy? Those who say they wouldn't be lying bastards
2:03: There are some strong moments, where all we see are the "looks" within characters' eyes. This is one of the more powerful moments. No words, just the expression in John Ortiz's eyes. There's a similar moment when Farrell is looking at Gong Li through the windows of the limo, but this one's stronger. We learn that Ortiz's character loves Gong Li's. Anyway, I think this movie is underrated. Too many people just want the TV show remade, but the movie brought Vice into the 2000s drug trade.
I'm so in LOVE with Colin Farrell. He can definitely have me anytime, I will SUBMIT to all his needs and he can have me anyway he want it. He is so SEXY and HOT!!!! I would love to taste him. I am so CRAZY for him. HIS HOT BODY! DAMN!!! Very YUMMY!!! Making me feel all wet here. I would love to wake up next to him every morning and not ever get tired of the view. God gifted to women!! This is a sad song though.

As for as Mann films go, it was right up there with the rest. I enjoyed it. But, as for as it doing the classic show justice, it failed. The guy who directed Bad Boys, and Bad Boys 2 would of been a better director choice in my opinion.

my thoughts exactly. pay homage to the cast that made this movie possible. i would have rather seen a made 4 tv movie than this crap. no don johnson, no phillip michael thomas. no miami vice. the creative juices werent there. this movie sucked something awful.
The movie could have been so much, yet it was mostly a letdown. I think Mann should have strived for some continuation from the series. Like, not call the cops Tubbs and Crockett, but rather have one of them promoted to boss, and played by an old and tired Don Johnson or Philip M. Thomas. Would make more sense, than a movie which tries to copy something it can't. And, on top of that, the movie lacked proper casting.
The movie was a modern twist of what the show was. So I applaud the idea by Mann. It got mixed reactions(the cream of the crop critics in RT like Vice), but that is always better than negative reactions. Great idea.
tnx man...i knew that donzi was the official mark of speed boats used in this movie but i couldn't find which model is the one that sony drives with the hot chick sitting next to him...its a great boat! any idea which model is it?
Actually, I was afraid you were going to ask that because I tried to look on the net but I couldnt find it. Im sure its a modified Donzi model but which one, Im not sure. Have you been to the Donzi webpage? Im sure its one of the boats listed, I just cant figure which one it is.

Exceptionally well done! Kudo's! Your video bridges that gap that existed between the 80's series and the movie. Its the missing link if you will. I believe that Mr. Mann wanted to sever the knot to the 80's completely, but Phil Collins version fits as well or better than the recent cover. Again, superb job of compilation and editing.
Can somebody please assist me? In the movie "Miami Vice" there is a song that is playing right after the dance club scene in Havana, Cuba - when Sonny & Isabella are outside. It is a ballad - real soulful - sounds a bit like Greg Allman. It's not on the official soundtrack because I've listened to clips of all of those songs. I'd love to know the name of the artist and the song name. Thanks for any help.
I was a little bit dissappointed by the movie because they transformed it too much but you did great work with that audio edit! In the air tonight alone gives you the MV-feel and so even the new one feels right :) I mean those bits and pieces look cool, good that you dont need to realise the script for this one ^^
this fucken movie sucked, the concept was good but the scripting was blows.... they tried to hard to make is sound "street". in return colin ferrell and jamie fox made asses of themselves...
What a fantastic meeting of the series and the movie -- great job. I'm a fan from the 80's and I thought the movie did justice to the original, unlike most campy Hollywood remakes these days (e.g., Starsky and Hutch).
I agree, the movie had atmosphere, like the show, really felt like you were watching reality at the theater. Michael Mann is one of my favorite directors and storytellers. Collin Ferrell and Jamie Foxx did the rolls with justice.
See the problem Jenscool is that Goyims like yourself have no understanding of what constitutes as a a great film. If the movie had dumbed down to your preschool understanding, then perhaps you would have enjoyed it
god thank you, the original should HAVE BEEN fucking used in the movie............so much better thant he remade bull shit...........I love this video man, great job
As much as Crockett and Tubbs hated eachother, they hated Calderone more - for killing Crockett's partner and Tubb's brother.THAT would've been great on film.
yeah the best episode is prologue ;), that would be cool to know how they met, in movie they are already good old time partners, and not many people get the subtle minimalistic hints they careful give eachother - but thats the another thing i love the motion pictures, thats why i used old phil colins
this video is brilliant im a huge huge Mann fan plus im a Miami Vice fan it litterly is one of my all time greatest films along with Heat and The Insider... this is a 5 star video... but towards the end i was hoping that you would add the Fade to black then have it say "Miami Vice" just like it does at the end of the film.. to me it is one of the films charms when sonny runs back to the hospital and the viewer is just show a "Miami Vice" logo ending.. but other than that i loved this video...

See the problem Jenscool is that Goyims like yourself have no understanding of what constitutes as a a great film. If the movie had dumbed down to your preschool understanding, then perhaps you would have enjoyed it

As much as Crockett and Tubbs hated eachother, they hated Calderone more - for killing Crockett's partner and Tubb's brother.THAT would've been great on film.

Instead, he remade an episode of Miami Vice called "Smuggler's Blues' starring Glen Frey of the Eagles.OK, but...

Great Video. IMHO Michael Mann should've remade the first Miami Vice episode, where Crockett and Tubbs first meet as the Miami Vice movie.

yeah the best episode is prologue ;), that would be cool to know how they met, in movie they are already good old time partners, and not many people get the subtle minimalistic hints they careful give eachother - but thats the another thing i love the motion pictures, thats why i used old phil colins
