  • Great job Pete. Check out Aqua....phonics was it? It's about growing fish & food at the same time. I know you'll find out about it.

  • Burster1- THAT is right!! ONLY ose Heirloom seeds- then, you can collect and save a few of each type, at harvest, for planting the next year. If you use regular store-bought seeds, chances are that they are GMO, and WILL NOT sprout, after the first season! Great video, though!!

  • awesome info, be sure to use non GMO heirloom seeds for the best health

  • I use this method for hard to sprout seeds & new items that I don't know what they'll look like when they come up (it's easy to pull something up thinking it's a weed when it's your new Giant Amaranth; (they look like weeds when small). Anyway, I recommend soaking the peat pots the night before putting in your seeds; It'll help keep the seeds from floating to the top. Peat takes awhile to hydrate. In windy areas tape your lid to the pan so U don't have to go hunting it down every evening. ;-)

  • Super info.. Thanks for the post!

    All the best,

    -Pete

  • For sure.. I added 1800 LBs of premium top soil for a serious garden but its been VERY hot here so things arent going as well as they should.

    -Pete

  • i dont think you should use reverse osmosis water for germination or watering/feeding.. u should use natrual spring water because it has more nutrients and minerals:) this is what i was told as for my hydroponics set up and stuff.. good vid tho:)

  • Thanks for the comments.

So far so good but I do feed the veg too.

    -Pete

  • grab a dehydrator for those extra's !!! the self life is much longer and the nutrional value is much higher than canning or frezzing -May clear skies grace your gardenspace !! I get to replant,,again,,grrr

  • Thanks for your post.

Yeah I need to get a dehydrator. After you dehydrate it what do you do to store it? ziplocks?

    -Pete

  • I tried peat pellets for the first time this year. Don't leave them outdoors without the cover in mousy territory. I lost all but my tomatoes to the hungry little buggers (probably the tomato seeds were too small for them to bother with. I'll know better for next year. - Margy

  • Sorry about that.. Im sure the next go you will do very well.

    -Pete

  • nice nice thanks broo

  • Thank you.

    More to come.

    -Pete

  • Start to grow organic, non-hybrid varieties with neighbors, friends and family, so you can have gardens of abundance, it is good for the pocket books, as well...Happy gardening!

  • Thanks!

Will do. I hope you also grow well

    -Pete

  • I wonder if this will do better than my method of using a old egg carton. which by the way didnt do to well. Thanks.

  • It keeps it very warm and moist. It works really nice.

    -Pete

  • wow... its cool

    i like it, thx

  • thanks,

    It worked well too.

    -Pete

  • Be careful and do your research on which seeds you buy. DO NOT buy anything except organic, non-hybrid, heirloom seeds. They will not tell you at walmart, lowes, your garden center, etc.

  • Great tips! I have quite a mix there but learned of this later.

    Hope they do well.

    -Pete

  • Good video, but even if the seeds do well, if they are genetically altered, they may contain things you would not want to eat. Monsanto is just one company genetically modifying seeds that contain pesticides, animal DNA, etc. They also alter the seeds so that you cannot take the seeds from what you grow and plant them for next season. They are basically sterile. Research "Codex Alimentarius"

  • Super info! Thanks....

    Im learning every day.

    Your the man,

    -Pete

  • Awesome !! 5 Stars !!

  • Thanks for your post... I will have lots more soon.

    -Pete

  • I've tried one of those before. They work great!

  • Thanks for the post, I agree they are really handy and work very fast.

    -Pete

  • I don't have a garden to grow anything in.

  • You can always use pots.

They are cheap and a quick and easy way to get a couple things growing.

    -Pete

  • I don't have anywhere to put them.

  • Great video, If you need any help getting your videos or channel exposed, i use a service called thetubeviews . net it has helped 5 of my videos get ranked on the first page

    Have A Good one!

  • Nice im going to do this, thanks i didnt think about this..

  • 1 day and I have about 12+ seeds popping open.

You have to try it out.

    -Pete

  • put it outside? lol not in Maine!

  • LOL put a light on it and run some simple hydro.

    -Pete

  • Howdy sir

    hope you're well sir :)

this is awesome stuff :) i grew a plant long time ago - this is a must try-out :)

    5 stars + =D

  • Nice.. Its fun and healthy too..

    Cant beat it.

    -Pete

  • Thanks Pete. I am actually gonna try one of those things. Never used them before.

One note though, you really should use 100% heirloom or open pollen seeds. That way you can save seeds from this years crop for next year.

What you get at places like walmart, ect are generally hybrid and they are one generational seeds. Meaning they wont produce well next year.

  • I have quite a mix.. But I agree.. I have about 50 packages of all types of seeds.. That will last me years.. I keep all my seeds from my farmers market I go to.

    Thanks and more to come!

    -Pete

  • seedsavers (dot) org....

    happy gardening:)

  • this looks like a good idea pete. my first thought though is to wonder if these are genetically altered seeds. monsanto and conagra produce most of our food now and monsanto has food seed patents (the first time in history). it might be better to order some heirloom seeds and know that you are not getting genetically modified food, ang go with the dixie cup idea below. thanks again, pete. keep those ideas coming.

  • Great point.. ;o)

The peppers all were from my local farmers market.. The peppers were soo good I had to keep the seeds.

The rest I got from walmart so I will hope for the best with those.

    Have a great night.

    -Pete

  • Thanks Pete! This is the kind of vital stuff we need to see. Looking forward to the update.

  • I will make more for sure..

    Yeah its very needed today.

    All the best,

    -Pete

  • LOL...I got the same thing and started mine about 2 weeks ago. The plants are huge already and are ready to be planted into the ground now, However, spring here in Canada is a little late in coming and we are actually expecting almost a foot of snow tonight. Oh well, I guess I can transplant into some grocery boxes for now. Great video buddy...keep 'em coming. Peace

  • Snow! Yikes.. I know people use christmas lights in the garden and sheets to keep them warm for a frost but snow is tough.

I hope that works out well for you..

    Take care my friend,

    -Pete

  • I am even cheaper than you Pete! I am using used fountain drink cups for germination. I got corn, lettuce, celery, broccoli, squash, cucumbers, carrots, & two types of tomatoes going. I'll probably get one of those little green houses from walmart for my second crop though. Great post.

  • LOL nice.. I used to use the cups too! ;o)

This is really fast and easy.

Corn huh? Thats awesome! I need to try that.

    Take care,

    -Pete

  • I got one of those too. I'm growing Tomatoes, carrots, watermelon, pumpkins, cucumbers and squash.

  • Nice! Thats the way to do it..

Im going to pickup another pack and setup a really nice garden for this summer.

    Take care,

    -Pete

  • Great job Pete!

  • Why thank you. ;o)

    -Pete

  • That is good advice. I always get most of my plants started in a simular way before I plant them in the ground. Works well.

  • Nice.. Thanks for the post.. Hope you have a great night.

    -Pete

  • Great Video =)

more people need to be doing this right now.

    Keep it up

    Peace

  • Thanks,

    Really cheap and really easy...

72 plants at a time you can really make some serious food starting off this way.

    Take care my friend,

    -Pete

  • Seriously. Everyone needs a garden!

    -Sunny
