  • Such an easy riff..did it really need a lesson?

  • @seventhCrucifix

Not everyone is as gifted as you! ;)

It was a request mate, wouldn't have occured to me otherwise.

  • @mindhead2005 My bad my friend, didn't realize. Cheers to a good lesson regardless!

  • @seventhCrucifix

Ah no bothers. I always try do what people ask me to do, because if its simple and they're asking, obviously its not simple to them.

    :).

Watched a couple of your vids - you're pretty handy! And slapping on a Ric too - there's threads on talkbass about how that's impossible! :) You show 'em it ain't!

  • @mindhead2005 Hey man I really appreciate that : ) Been playing 3 years but I'm gettin there! I've been of a fan of your vids for a while though, keep up the good stuff good sir!

  • @bargeanimal

    Cormac ye bollocks!

    :)

  • @mindhead2005 Ye more or less have it. Just sharpen the odd note up a semier here and there an ye have it :)

  • As a Numan fan for over 30 years I love your demo's of the bass lines-not just for gary but Mick Karn as well-more please.

  • @TheReplicant16

thanks so much - more soon!

    :)

  • tab please

  • I don't know why but the suspicious look at the bass at 0:23 makes me laugh.

  • @Parley454

LOL! Yeah you gotta keep your eye on them basses - never know what they'll get up to!

  • @mindhead2005 especially with names like Stingray and Eagle. Could you play Waiting room by Fugazi? I know there is tabs for it and all, but this is nice to just see where stuff goes on the fretboard......easier for my brain to understand.

  • Slightly wrong, since we're being all detailed about these things ;-) The little skip on the 3rd fret of the E is actually played an octave up, ie 5th fret on the G string. It's not too audible on the recorded version becuase of the interplay with the kick. There are some Pleasure Principle session bootlegs around (which sound like a mix in progress with instruments muted in and out) and you can most clearly hear the bass line on that. I was skeptical, so I tried doing a cover version!

  • @RJADVids

    Good man!

Link to your cover for anyone trying to learn this tune, please mate.

  • PLAY " WE ARE ELECTRIC"

  • @rome848 theres no such song as "we are electric" theres "are friends electric?" and "We are glass"

  • Christ..did you win the lottery or something? A Steinberger with that sort of heritage!

  • wow, please gimmie that bass, i'll do anything!?

  • Good job -Smart lad ,aint yer !

  • You must tell me the tale of how you got hold of such a prestigious piece of kit sometime ...

  • haha great mate forgot how good the bass was in this song.
