@xxKS1 In Watch the Throne Jay Z discussed black on black violence, religion, society, politics, racism and the diminished chance of success for black people and how he broke that barrier. How did he sellout? Do you know what selling out means? Or do you just think popular artists are sellouts?
Most want pay this post attention, but I'm sure someone will. I "rap", yet I'm nothing like a "rapper". And I hate to be categorized as one. In fact, I'm working on my Masters. @TakinInc Ever heard of a metaphor? People use the devil metaphor all the time... it's often used as a metaphor for "losing your way" or "not staying true to what you [believe you] are"...you know, cause Lucifer was an ANGEL who REBELLED. AKA: Lost his way, didn't 'stay true'. Jay-z actually gained his fame and talent from having sex with a metaphorical symbol.
Nas fans got to be in denial to say jay sold out but nas didn't. nas did songs with p diddy and lil jon and the east side boys. jay-z and nas do alot of the same things but jay-z is hated on for it while nas gets away with it. nas has dumbed it down, made commercial records, made some terrible songs...etc but fans sweep it under the rug and pretend that it didn't happen.
money didnt go to his head when you get money you cant rap bout that shit anymore its just growth people be smart and know that his subject matter now is limited cuz hes not struggling anymore you dumbfuckas
@Remingt0nn He could still rap about it if he's smart. If Jay Z was to say shit like "i aint eat in a week and i murder fools all day" then it would be gay as fuck, but he could explain the streets and tell stories about what it was like then it would be straight.
Jay was almost as good as nas back in the day, he was hungry as fuck back when he was a teen till his late 20s he fell of n shit now money went to his head so he dumbed down his shit
@goodguyj Lmao bru i gotta disagree nas is on that rakim kool g AZ Big L flow / lyricism shit jay is a excellent artist tho but as far as musicwise jay got mo $ dan nas but jay doesent have the type of flow / poetric skills nas has
@Rep843 Thank cuz. I just can't stand dudes that come on a dude's track doing nothing but hating on it. It's like why the fck you on this track in the first place if you hate the guy? Nah mean? Shits silly. I usually never go this buck on someone, especially on fckin YouTube, but he had no reasoning or explanation behind his shit, nothing. I'm sick of cats saying Jay ain't shit, they clearly do not decipher this man's lyrics. Jay is amazing, period. And my nigga is still goin strong
Jay switches styles on every song...so if you say he jacks flows... your a dumbass...
its easy for nas to rap..when nothing he says is true...yea its real life shit that he just saw and never experienced...i call nas fake cus his songs are not laced with facts...yea he's talented... but he reminds me of drake...he makes songs about shit he never went though and being real... when he's not
@VSizzle10 Timeout- Difference between Nas and Drake is Nas is still from the streets and raps about his ENVIRONMENT, all which Drake is NOT. How do you know Nas past and what he been through? If Drake reminds you of JaRule then fine but it's a far reach for Nas and Drake to be similar in any way.
I know you guys get this alot but if you're reading this checking out my version of this song. I'm not like everybody else, let curiosity take you on a journey.....
yo, let's seriously end this debate. jay will forever be tied with biggie as the greatest. there is no doubt he can spit, flow, and deliver better than any clown ass nigga out right now. and there is no doubt he shines over nas also. i got love for nas just as much as the next guy, but let's face it, jay is fckin king and is the truth
"YOU MADE A HOT LINE, I MADE IT A HOT SONG"
all you cats do is bring up ether, ether this and ether that. man, any fool can make fun a dude's appearance
@RapRules2000 Ummm, wow, you know how to cuss at people online, good job. First off, I wasn't coming at you so I don't know what fck your deal is. I bring up "Ether" simply for the fact that's what mostly everyone brings up as the reason Nas is better. If Nas spoke the truth, than Jay told the definition on "Takeover" and "Blueprint II" plus others. Don't come at me just cuz Jigga is filthy and made it outta the hood. Ya'll get mad cuz he "sold out"?...
@RapRules2000 Get the fck outta here with that "sold out" bullshit. If selling out is making it out the hood, getting ya family situated and at the same time making it the top of raps elite, then sure Jay sold out. Jay is everything every rapper would kill to be, fck anyone who says otherwise, cuz they just lying to themselves. Then I hear, Jay ain't real cuz he changes styles, WTF is that??? that's how a rapper progresses, that's a how nigga grows and develops.
@roc575 he sold the fuck out LOOK AT HIM THEN AND THEN LOOK AT NOW ARE YOU TELLING ME HE DIDNT FUCK HIS STYLE? AND NAS IS SOOO MUCH BETTER LOOK AT THE ALBUMS ILLMATIC WILL EAT ANY ALBUM BY JAY AND THIS SONG HE STOLE NAS BEAT
@RapRules2000 You are argument cannot be further from the truth. You make it sound like just cuz he changed his "style" up that it's a bad thing. And what do you exactly mean by style?? The things he talks about? If you ever listened to Jay, which you obv don't, you would know he barely changed anything up. Sure he talks more about politics and money but it's still has hustler swag to it, it's a different type of talk than some Soldier Boy shit, and if you can't see that...
@roc575 I dont listen to Soldier boy and i listen to Jay you idoit i woulnt be here if i didnt and yea he did switch up everything his lyrics are shit now just look back at his past albums and then look now its obvious he changed alot and its not a good change
@RapRules2000 Who said change is necessarily bad? He still raps about the hood but it's got a different swag to it, it's a grown man swag. Like he said, "I don't be in the project hallway, talkin' about how I be in the project all day, that sound stupid to me, if you a gangsta, this is how you prove it to me"
Do you understand that? When someone grows up, their perspective on life changes, niggas can relate to that on some level, you obviously can't cuz you like hearing about the hood nonstop
@RapRules2000 And please don't say you listen to Jay or else you wouldn't be here. You clearly have not said anything good about Jay in any of your posts, I have a hard time believing you listen to him with your nonsense. And even if you do like his old shit, why are you bashing him on this track? Why don't you take your haterade and go sip it on a track of Jay's that you don't like? I'm willing to bet that you prolly will do that cuz that's what a hater does.
@RapRules2000 ...well then I can't help you there, it's obvious. Second, you're comparing Illmatic to all of Jay's albums?? LMAO wow. Jay has how many #1 albums??? How many does Nas have?? Illmatic is def. a good album but it does not touch Reasonable Doubt. Hell, The Blueprint, Black Album and even Blueprint III can take on Illmatic. And finally, WTF are you talking about taking Nas' beat for this track? Ski sampled Nas' vocals from "The World Is Yours", that's it...
@RapRules2000 ...This beat has nothing to do with Nas. Ski sampled a classic jazz/soul joint and added part of A Tribe Called Quest's "Oh My God" (remix) to the put it all together. Where the fck you gettin' your info from?? Maybe if you would chill out with the caps, you might be able to make some sense. I'm not a Nas hater, but you clearly are a Jay hater, so why don't you step off this track since you have nothing good to bring to the table
get outta here this song goes harder than anything Nas has ever done. LOL Jay Z also has like 100 million more dollars than Nas. Oh yeah and now he is Nas's boss I;d say Jay won that one
@ASTANHOPE61487 jay is deffinatly a better business man, nas just chose to stay street. and nah ether finished that entire beef. and nas is a better artist jay just better at business but used to be a crazy artist
@ReggaeDubSoundSystem Dick rider or not, Jay-Z is an undeniable rap legend. Nas is the GOAT, but Jay-Z is Top 10. If you can't understand why, you're just being ignorant.
@Eziokilla9595 No, you have me wrong, I am a very opened minded person when it comes down to things like this. But in the end it's all down to personal opinion. And Jay-z has no flow what so ever. Nas is definitely top 10, and in my book ahead of Jay-z.
@ReggaeDubSoundSystem Jay-Z mastered the flow he can go fast slow at any time he doesn't have a monotone flow like Nas. Jay and Nas will always be a toss up at who's a better rap artist but Nas is the better lyricist though.
Jay- z is great, but come on, you guys are fuckin retarded if you think he is the best ever. 2Pac Biggie and Nas have more classic songs on one album than Jay-z probably does collectively after his Reasonable Doubt album.
@Eight1Eighty2 bringing my age into it is retarded lol because im a certain age doesnt mean i dont listen to the music and understand the wordplay and the power behind what they are saying......ive listened to all of pac and bigs stuff lol and i still listen to it.i listen to a lot of older stuff to do...i missed out on the early 90s and it sucks that i did but the good thing about music is that their are recordings that i can listen to lol
Yes but you can't feel the true power of the music unless you lived it at that time. My mom loves the Beatles and when she hears a song of them she goes nuts. I think the Beatles made great music but I cannot feel the music like she could because she lived it, it's nostalgic to her. Just like when I hear "Ambitionz az a Ridah" for example it brings me back to my early high school days blastin it in the gym playing b-ball or hearing it at parties. It's in me.
and another thing is when you hear that music the time it came out is much different than hearing it now for someone that lived through. Hearing this Jay song when it came out it was good. As time went by you realized it was great.
Hip hop was so big in the 90's and good songs and albums flooded the industry daily. We all weren't saying to each other, man, this is an amazing era of hip hop. We just enjoyed it but now realize it was the peak of hip hop.
@catdogcirca1990s uh yeah it does dude. listening to an old song say from the 70's doesnt trigger your own memory from the 70's cause you werent alive then jack ass. you didnt live their lingo or way of life then. you didnt understand it the first time i dont even know why im trying to explain it to you again....
@ChiggaNad the reason why the age doesnt matter for this is because i said that i thought that reasonable doubt and illmatic were better than all eyes on me so because i was still young when they all came out age shouldn't matter....i just listen and think which one is better
Yall faggots act like you can't like and listen to both Jay and Nas at the same time. Neither of them niggas give me money so I'm not on anybody's side. the beef is 10 years old so get the fuck over it...They got over it.
Fuck it, both of them are in my top 3...The rest of yall lames still believing in fairy tales about Illuminati
jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz freeze off my knee cap
@trayjay1000 pls bra! the dude (well is flaud ok cool we all have that curse) ( we are not JESUS so let it go him and the dude NAS did!!)!! the dude has day adventures with warren buffet, and steve forbes we my never know why the dude feels, does , nor says the things he does . it's cool if he's doing it they way it was dispensed to him and he has to do it right wrong or whatever it's a blessing to and for him.
@trayjay1000 You came to a Jay Z song to write Nas continually? Dude stop worshiping him and realize Jay in a league of his own. You don't see anyone who listens to Nas music and writing Jay or talking Jay better than Nas. Its because we all know inside Jay Z is a beast and Nas a mouse
@TheBunnun dude, who you think your speaking to, put this word on my mom's, you talk that internet shit so am not going to waste time on your bitch ass, see me in public and tell me that shit to my face I would waste you dog.
@RapRules2000 lol yes I will give him it with Illmatic and can't deny that owns Jay z albums. But you got to give it to Jay z for consistently bringing it and remaining consistent. Jay is a beast for this and has not changed but Nas just stopped after Illmatic and Godson. So Jay is beast
@RapRules2000 Nas is a devil worshiper to, are you so blind that you actually believe Nas did not sellout before Jay. Lol what do you think Cormega and Jay was going at him for. "I know who I paid god church like publican" lol. You guys are so, Nas is Mason. Why you think he is called "god's son" is suggest you watch it aint hard to tell a bit more closely. So calling Jay a Mason does not score points for Nas, he is in the same boat, he got on way before Jay.
why the fuck is everyone mentioning nas... I would understand if this was the takeover, but come on, how you gonna diss Jay-Z on some of his greatest work
My rise to riches suprise the bitches, think harder. You know this nigga, Jay-Z, Sean Carter.

Then I hear, Jay ain't real cuz he changes styles, WTF is that??? that's how a rapper progresses, that's a how nigga grows and develops.
roc575 1 month ago
@roc575 he sold the fuck out LOOK AT HIM THEN AND THEN LOOK AT NOW ARE YOU TELLING ME HE DIDNT FUCK HIS STYLE? AND NAS IS SOOO MUCH BETTER LOOK AT THE ALBUMS ILLMATIC WILL EAT ANY ALBUM BY JAY AND THIS SONG HE STOLE NAS BEAT
RapRules2000 1 month ago
@RapRules2000 You are argument cannot be further from the truth. You make it sound like just cuz he changed his "style" up that it's a bad thing. And what do you exactly mean by style?? The things he talks about? If you ever listened to Jay, which you obv don't, you would know he barely changed anything up. Sure he talks more about politics and money but it's still has hustler swag to it, it's a different type of talk than some Soldier Boy shit, and if you can't see that...

When someone grows up, their perspective on life changes, niggas can relate to that on some level, you obviously can't cuz you like hearing about the hood nonstop
roc575 1 month ago

Ski sampled Nas' vocals from "The World Is Yours", that's it...
roc575 1 month ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@RapRules2000 ...This beat has nothing to do with Nas.

ASTANHOPE61487 1 month ago
@ASTANHOPE61487 jay is deffinatly a better business man, nas just chose to stay street. and nah ether finished that entire beef. and nas is a better artist jay just better at business but used to be a crazy artist

Jay-Z got his style from NAS... Jay-Z is just a dick rider.
ReggaeDubSoundSystem 1 month ago
@ReggaeDubSoundSystem Dick rider or not, Jay-Z is an undeniable rap legend. Nas is the GOAT, but Jay-Z is Top 10. If you can't understand why, you're just being ignorant.
Eziokilla9595 1 month ago
@Eziokilla9595 No, you have me wrong, I am a very opened minded person when it comes down to things like this. But in the end it's all down to personal opinion. And Jay-z has no flow what so ever. Nas is definitely top 10, and in my book ahead of Jay-z.
ReggaeDubSoundSystem 1 month ago
@ReggaeDubSoundSystem Jay-Z mastered the flow he can go fast slow at any time he doesn't have a monotone flow like Nas. Jay and Nas will always be a toss up at who's a better rap artist but Nas is the better lyricist though.

Jay- z is great, but come on, you guys are fuckin retarded if you think he is the best ever. 2Pac Biggie and Nas have more classic songs on one album than Jay-z probably does collectively after his Reasonable Doubt album.

@Eight1Eighty2 REALLY? u really think they do? blueprint and the black album are classic albums as well as reasonable doubt so thats bullshit
2pac never put out an album that was an all together better album then illmatic reasonable doubt and ready to die (at least i think so)
Biggie put out TWO ALBUMS! so relax
Nas is your best argument in my opinion
catdogcirca1990s 2 months ago
@Eight1Eighty2 bringing my age into it is retarded lol because im a certain age doesnt mean i dont listen to the music and understand the wordplay and the power behind what they are saying......ive listened to all of pac and bigs stuff lol and i still listen to it.i listen to a lot of older stuff to do...i missed out on the early 90s and it sucks that i did but the good thing about music is that their are recordings that i can listen to lol
catdogcirca1990s 2 months ago
@catdogcirca1990s
It's in me.

"you can't feel the true power of the music unless you lived it at that time."
Word!!!!
flavjuniorgrill 1 month ago
@catdogcirca1990s
and another thing is when you hear that music the time it came out is much different than hearing it now for someone that lived through.
Eight1Eighty2 2 months ago
@catdogcirca1990s uh yeah it does dude. listening to an old song say from the 70's doesnt trigger your own memory from the 70's cause you werent alive then jack ass. you didnt live their lingo or way of life then. you didnt understand it the first time i dont even know why im trying to explain it to you again....
ChiggaNad 2 months ago
@ChiggaNad the reason why the age doesnt matter for this is because i said that i thought that reasonable doubt and illmatic were better than all eyes on me so because i was still young when they all came out age shouldn't matter....i just listen and think which one is better
catdogcirca1990s 1 month ago
@ChiggaNad not all eyes on me i meant all of pacs albums...but what i mean is that i was young during all of those albums sooo it shouldnt matter

Adriangrosvenor 1 month ago
@Adriangrosvenor jay sold out tho hes not the same
RapRules2000 1 month ago
@RapRules2000 Nas sold out way before Jay, and Jay simply switched his style. Check out Cormega Thin Line, and Jay Z A week ago.
Adriangrosvenor 1 month ago
@Adriangrosvenor give me 1 example of how Nas sold out? never have i seen him sell out Jay on the other hand.......Devil worshiper haha
RapRules2000 1 month ago
@RapRules2000 Nas is a devil worshiper to, are you so blind that you actually believe Nas did not sellout before Jay. Lol what do you think Cormega and Jay was going at him for. "I know who I paid god church like publican" lol. You guys are so, Nas is Mason. Why you think he is called "god's son" is suggest you watch it aint hard to tell a bit more closely. So calling Jay a Mason does not score points for Nas, he is in the same boat, he got on way before Jay.
