  • man was a fan of B5... never saw this final sequence Nice...

  • Fortunately for el kapitan the volons and shadows weren't considering of kicking his human butt back to earth together with his other buddies

  • I love how some people deny the fact that the Shadow Vessel at 0:34 is destroyed, even though we see chunks of it flying everywhere.

  • @Perion

I never knew that was actually a point of discussion. I always thought that the vessel was destroyed as well.

The Shadows are very powerful, but I doubt even they can survive a nuke.

  • Can you imagine how expensive this must have been?

  • I wonder what the people of Corianas VI thought about all the flashing lights in the sky that day?

  • Flying saucers kicking the crap out if the shadows lol

  • @pbtime78

Who do the saucers belong too?

    Which species?

  • To tell the Vorlon and the Shadows ''GTFO!'' took seriously big balls. :D

  • How do you know this @Fightosaurus?

  • Comment removed

  • mais c'est laid ! c'est horrible !! les vaisseaux son moche ! les effet spéciaux aussi ! sa fait honte a la science fiction !!!!! ><"

    OMG !!!

  • listen to 1:18.. Isnt that the door opening sound from the old Pc game 'Doom'?????

  • 1:19 After seeing his fellow pilot lose his upper left thruster pod and see it spiraling towards him, the pilot had this to say....."bad day bad day BADDAYBADDAY!!!!

  • The shadows were "progressive"; they wanted things disturbed periodically in order to make a level of challenge that species had to respond to. Sort of "assisted evolution". The Voorlons were "conservative"; they wanted the younger races to value order before change, and so built up religious responses to draw people into cohesion....

  • I don't think shadows were absolut evil. They had at least some agenda and tried to guide younger species. Althought shadows agenda was nonsense as was vorlons agenda..It's a funny thing that in the end Sheridan joins with the shadows and the vorlons beyound the rim when he dies. Maybe he plays chess with the shadows and they become best buddies..?

  • Shame they don't show more of this battle.

  • I think that the chaos of it made it much more realistic and believable than most other Sci-fi space battles.

  • This fight was the most chaotic space battle that I've ever seen.

  • @lilleo1968 A three way space battle will kind of have that effect...

  • shadows rules!!!

  • I haven't ever really been fond of these videos where all dialogue is removed. The battle scenes lose all meaning.

  • Imagine if the Shadows and Vorlons had been able to kill the Ancients...

hahahaha Sheridan and the others would have been like: "oh shit....we are so

    FUCKED!!!"

  • @Purplecatsoup30 Technically the Shadows and Vorlons are Ancients as well. Some of the Ancients are older and others are younger then the others.

  • @porpus99 I just wanted to find a clip of the First Ones showing up and kickin arse. This is like, the only one I could find.

  • Lita just after the mines go off

    "Captain..their pissed"

  • now get the hell out of our galavy

    both of yuo

    Vorlons and Shadows are like..WTF

  • Epic!

  • what was the name of the episode where Ivanova goes looking for The First Ones?

  • When I'm a million years old, I want a Vorlon Heavy Cruiser.

  • @DorianArcher I prefer a shadow ship-the spider looking one

  • 1:18

    Doom sound effect?

  • @BootedNoob Yes, some one opened up a door. I always notice reused SFX in shows. It make me laugh.

  • I wasn't a major fan of B5, but I loved this scene. You've got the "lesser races" basically confusing the crap out of the Vorlons and the Shadows, and just when they seem to get everything under control, HOLY CRAP OUR OLD FRIENDS ARE BACK AND WTF THEY ARE SHOOTING OUR PLANET KILLER JESUS WEPT". Excellent scene.

  • Sheriden tell the Vorlon and the Shadows stop playing chess with the lesser races !! Enough was enough ! It was time they went their own way and to be left alone !!! They had grown up and needed NO "parents" !!!

  • @davisgreen2020 One could say that the Vorlons and Shadows were the races that needed 'parents' more than the Younger Races.

  • Go go flying saucer!

  • If only Season 4 hadn't been a rush job... Imagine if they had been able to take their time and craft an even more epic end to the Shadow War.

  • i was just thinking shouldn't sheridan have used WAY more of those thermo-nukes before throwing his fleet between two juggernauts!

  • A war of small talent.

  • Los antiguos se vieron bien rompe madres al entrar destruir el destructor de planetass vorlon, ya no hay series como estas =(

  • @gasdfw5. Adams and Jefferson didn't want political parties at all and I understand why. I wonder if the Founders are watching the economic mess continuing to gut the economy. The defunct comic, Stomwatch: Team Achilles by DC/Wildstorm, did a storyline about George Washington coming back from the grave to take on corporate interests who run the country. It was really good.

  • LOL telling them to bugger off out the galaxy.

  • It was cool watching the other ancient ships all gang up and blast that Vorlon planet killer ship.

  • Cuanta variedad de armas.

  • @cristianruiz1972

Efectivamente...pero no son tanto las armas como las civilizaciones involucradas en la batalla de Coreana VI. Fue un show magnifico..el mejor.

  • 2. I really like the 2:22 - 2:37 period, because I find it quite funny:

Sheridan has just said the magic words: "Now get the Hell out of our Galaxy! Both of you!" - Soon after, we can see the embarrassed Vorlon and Shadow for a few seconds, trying their best not to burst out crying, and then, the two First Ones leave the Galaxy like obedient puppies. ("There is only order and obedience", right?")

How many troubles could they avoid if Sinclair had said this sentence in the first episode?...

  • 1. As a Vorlon-fan, I must defend my favorite First Ones: That was NOT a real Vorlon Planet Killer! If you pay close attention, you can see the "Made in China" text on it, which is the only acceptable reason why 7 "nobodies" - whose official names have never even been mentioned during the original series - could take out a ship like that. It had plastic "shielding", not bio-shielding.

(No offense for those who like the Kirishiacks and their "friends", I find them cool too, ;) )

  • Gooosh, I miss this show. Five years was not enough. Michael S. please come back and do some more.

  • Gooosh, I miss this show. Five years was not enough. Michael S. please come back and so some more.

  • The other First Ones and their ships as they appear beginning 1:30: Walker Traveler (most technologically advanced, second oldest race with a birthrate), Mindriders (powerful, spiritual telepathic/telekinetics), Triad Triumviron (three energy beings of enormous power, nearly as old as Lorien), Kirishiac Lordship (youngest First Ones, seven meters tall and previously warlike), Torvalus Dark Knife (naturally immortal cilia-covered psychics obsessed with wagering on outcomes).

  • @Fightosaurus, that is neat to know. They do not cover the Ancients too much in the show. I miss the the Babylon 5 Tv Show, it was one of the last intelligent Science Fiction shows we had. At least until Battlestar Galactica came along. Who could win in a battle between Cylons(new Show) vs Shadows or Vorlons?. What about the Borg vs any of them?,

  • the end of this video is really good

  • Lol so according to their ships, the Ancient Ones are the Disco Jellyfish, SuperShrooms, Flying Volcanoes, theGreenLazorz, and the RedLazerz!

  • Vorlons and Shadows remind me of Democrats and Republicans.

  • I like Sheridan in this episode: Bring it on if your hard enough, over to Piss off the lot of ya!

    Nice one Capt!

  • the ancient ships quickly destroy the vorlon planet killer as if their saying: thats enough kids!

  • How are you gentlemen?

Somebody set up us the bomb.

  • Lol that yellow globe mortar/pestle war ship with the things spinning around it. Now that's original. and it looks like its got some firepower.

  • Your galaxy?

  • The most ridiculous part of this episode. Shadows and Vorlons were there for MILLIONS of years before humans after all.

  • It is only proof of humanity's arrogance; the Shadows and Vorlons should unite and destroy the humans and their allies.

  • They wouldn't need to unite really, either of them could destroy all of the younger races 5 times over with ease.

  • It wasn't about humans claiming the galaxy.

The Shadows and Vorlons where running programs on the younger species to improve them, whilst the other ancient races had largely retreated to the galactic rim to make room for the younger species. And at this point the Shadows and Vorlons had started to destroy younger species planets over their disagreements.

This was more of a 'stop meddling with us and let us develop on our own, and stop destroying our planets' thing.

  • I just bought the whole series of Babylon 5 on DVD and I can't bloody wait to get started on watching them. However I really want to watch the major overarching story arc episodes first so does anyone know the name and season of this episode?

  • @ZephonDakariReviews EVERY B5 episode was a more or less important overarching story arc episode in one way or the other. ^^

  • @ZephonDakariReviews

"Into the Fire", season 4, episode 4 (i think).

  • season 4, episode 6, Title: " Into the Fire"

  • While i dont know the name of the episode, it is about in the middle of season 4, hope that helps.

  • captain sherrypie

  • I love the shot of the two Starfuries tracking and firing at their target together.

  • @YiddoBobbins It's a shame they hardly got a chance to shine in the Shadow War. They were always the coolest looking fighters in sci-fi :)

  • @LostMercenary99

Viper from BSG are better in my opinion bu yeah thi bring buck emories

  • After the last great war, the remaining First Ones left beyond the rim. They were tired of the fighting and wanted to see if there was more beyond the Galaxy that spawned them.

They Vorlons and the Shadows remained behind, initially guiding the younger races much in the way that Lorien's people had when they were younger. As time went on, the two races decided that THEY were right, ant the OTHERS were wrong. The Vorlons believed in order and peace, the Shadows believed in chaos and struggle

  • All these races were aware of each other. Its a slight plot hole that is never explained. Its said the Vorlons and Shadows stayed behind to watch over the younger races, the presence of other first ones is not explained. It is said though, that after the last war and being embittered and tired of the shadows and vorlons pettiness, that these first ones cut off contact with them I believe.

  • What the heck were those things that pounded on the Vorlon Planet Killer?

  • First Ones ships (the first races that appeared and evolved within our galaxy). As far as i know there are the Vorlons, Shadows, Triad, Torvalus, Walkers of Sigma 957, Kirishiac, Mindriders and Lorien.

  • That would explain how they thrashed the Vorlons' most powerful vessel with relative ease. But I thought the First Ones were against the Army of Light with the Vorlons and Shadows.

  • First ones don't stand the vorlons after they released the thirdspace aliens a round, especially the Walkers. Ivanova enlisted their help after she pissed them of with "the vorlons being more powerful than them".

  • I see.

  • Yeah, that was hilarious. Haven't seen a ship stop so abruptly at an insult thrown at it since old day cartoons.

  • no the first one all went beyond the rim a few stayed behind the ones that blew up the planet killer the vorlons and shadows stayed to guide the young races but over the many years they both decided there was right so they ended up like this every few 1000 years

the other first ones to them did not really bother with the younger races to them we were like ants as g-kar once said

  • don't forget the hand "more powerful than the shadows!

  • Forgot about the Hand, i know! Sorry!

  • the 1st ones and a star fury

  • They were the First Ones. Each as powerful as Vorlons or Shadows. Maybe more powerful...indications are they each had a civilization ship as opposed to a massive fleet.

In the B5 universe it's likely that the Vorlon and Shadow would have known about them, but discounted them because they had sat out on earlier occasions.

  • A civilization ship. Nice-that's why they pwned the Vorlon Planet Killer.

  • not sure about civilization ships I just think the rest of there races had gone beyond the rim also they must have know about them because did not lorien say that the shadow knew he was on there home world and that was why they always went back there before they started a new war

  • I think Walkers of Sigma 957 are about as advanced as they get. Their ship doesn't have any dedicated weapon systems, but they can still destroy Vorlon and Shadow ships and cause massive damage against Vorlon planet killer. How?

They just use their communication system! That "wave beam" is usually used for ship to ship communication between different dimensions(They had visited thirdspace before Vorlons visited hyperspace for the first time)

  • @kimnice uh... where did you hear this?

    was it wikipedia?

  • one of my favorites! but i still dont get the nukes, an race as advanced as the vorlons or shadows would have detected those imediatly.

  • 500 megaton space mines, pretty decent.

  • One thing that was so good was the fact, they had a very low budget as a sci fi compared to star trek. Which is why some sets, props, even the SFX if you look it doesnt match up to scratch but it worked damn well. Some of the battle scenes you can see they cheated and skipped some things.

  • I'm a big fan of the shadows, but the FirstOnes are so cool! The "through Force" ship is my favorite. The FX on its weapons are awesome. I've seen this battle like 90 times. At 2:00 notice how everyone is at peace for a moment. That always made me smile.

JMS should make a special DVD of this battle with more CGI. "Into the fire" Extreme DVD.

  • It's all about the HAND!

  • Hmm the Army of Light wasn't doing too well until the Walkers showed up...

  • Anybody notice that the Sigma 957 ship is made of 4 skeletal footbones?

  • The flying saucers kicked butt.

  • Yeah that gatling cannon! The creatures are the Vree. They were the Greys we know about!

  • @marky2112 apparently their an older sort of race aswell

  • @marky2112 which ones mate the vorlon plantekillers or the drazi saucers?

  • @marky2112 the flying saucers were the ancients. Beings as old ( or older ) Then the shadow and the Vorlon There for as or more powerful.

  • @XJadynX Actually no. The 'flying saucers' are from one of the Younger Races (notice one of them at Babylon 5 when it is decomissioned - 'Sleeping in Light').

The First One's you will know right away, at 1:34, 1:41 and 1:44 etc.

  • @marky2112 The flying saucers sucked dick.

  • Walkers of Sigma 957 are easily the most advanced race in B5. I mean their ship doesn't even have any actual weapons..but they can tear apart Vorlon Planet Killer's armor with their communication system.

Other First Ones mentioned in B5 literature:

    Kirishiac

    Triads

    Mindriders

    Torvalus

Torvalus and Kirishiac are the only First Ones who didn't evolve to energy form.

  • The who? This shit wasn't in the show.

The most powerful ship in the B5 universe is the Volron planet killer, 1 shot destroys a planet.

  • Well there were books also. Explaining for example why Walkers didn't seem to like Vorlons (Season 3, episode 5 (Voices of Authority)

    etc.

  • Only B5 book I own is a used copy of the story detaling Sinclair's time on Minbar after being transferred from B5 per Earthforce's orders. I can't recall the title--I haven't read it yet. I know it also features how Marcus Cole got involved with the Rangers.

  • Perhaps, but it can't just jump in and knock out a planet. There appears to be a long period of time required to build enough power for the main weapon.

That (for literary or other reasons) makes it extremely vulnerable. When the planet killer approaches Centauri Prime, escort ships destroy the Centuari home fleet, which leads me to believe that although it may be powerful, the Vorlon planet killer is far from invulnerable.

  • this maybe true if you have the tech to get through the escort fleet!

  • triad are on par with walkers but in a different way. They came into existence as pure energy, walkers did it the old fasion way

  • Neither Star Wars, or or Star Trek got much on that battle of Babylon 5. Maybe the assault on the second Death Star or the showdown between the Cardassian-Dominion vs the Allied federation fllet in DS9 come close.

  • "Now GET THE HELL OUT OF OUR GALAXY! BOTH of you!"

The cheesiness of that line almost ruins the whole thing.

  • I actually thought "encountered suited butts" was corny. I think "butts" was used instead of "asses" because back in the mid 1990s, "asses" was just starting to be okayed by the FCC.

  • Its only cheese because such lines have been used so many times in TV and movies.

  • Season 4 and 5 very epic space battles

  • Wish you'd left some of the dialogue in.

"Will you...come with us?" So creepy, even when they sound afraid themselves.

  • I love how some of that dialogue is creepy. It gives you the sense of mortality, fear of the unknown, uncertain of the future

  • @HK47Beta yeah too rite dude is there a vid of that bit of dialouge on youtube?

  • why didi you name this corianna thats my name only

  • MALiBUgrrl:

This is an extract of the Sci-Fi series Babylon 5.

This battle happened above the (fictional) planet "Corianna VI", hence the name.

  • 1:12, is that a Whitestar or a Bluestar?

  • to sightoplasm:

The ship class is named "White Star".

It only looks green or blue or whatever because of its partly vorlon design.

  • Isnt there a Bluestar class Scout though?

  • to sightoplasm:

not in the official series. in the extended storyline, there is a Bluestar class built for the Interstellar Alliance, which did not exist at this point.

  • "Now get the hell out of our galaxy"

man, that was a poorly thought out choice in the script

  • Those Walkers really don't like the Vorlons do they? They jumped out of hyperspace and just fired on the planet killer.

  • From what I recall, I'm not 100% sure, they did that because the Vorlon Planetkiller was about to completely destroy Coriana 6 and all its inhabitants. The Walkers were the only ones who could stop the Vorlons in time. There was no other option.

  • But I'm sure there was no love lost between them, either.

  • Heh, that's true.

  • When it comes to space operas, Babylon 5 is Wagners Ring Cycle. ^^

  • I wonder what the Starfury pilots were thinking as they were fighting this battle.

    Also, kick ass at 1:20

  • "Oh my god I hope I don't die"?

  • Damn I knew those mushrooms tasted funny I just knew it . . .

  • Something like what a hamster would feel on Omaha beach.

  • That is a great analogy!

  • To zero 312:

"As long as it moves, kill it." ? ;-)

  • You have to admire a man that will not hesatate to nuke his wife.

  • That wasn't really Anna. Not anymore. It might have been nice to have sex one more time, but then again, Zahadum isn't exactly a romantic get-a-way destination.

  • There's a little of Shadow and Vorlon in all of us. CHOOSE ONE! Or accept both in balance. }:^}

  • good call
