You wont hear me mourning the loss of the blood tub IE new dock place was a shit hole, for many years I lived opposite it Tyrer st now knocked down and it was an eye sore. so much trouble, fighting people ccomming out pissing up the walls was a disgrace glad its gone. Not just me many residents hated the place. Some people think its charming but its not when its on your doorstep.
Even though I'm originally from Liverpool/Huyton I spent lots of time fishing the locks and docks in Birkenhead as a sprog,later on whilst working for the Westminster Dredging Company I had many a pint in Birkenhead and arount the Wirral-how times have changed,sadly,not for the better!
the bloodtub never closed down because of smokeing ban it closed down coz the council wanted to knock it down an redevelop the area alls they did was knock the spirutal home down of the good people off he northend the bloodtub best alehouse in he town was allways boomin on a weekend an through out the week the smokein ban never harmed the tub one bit
