The reason we have pickups instead of rakes is. 1.Ash content is lowered because we are not dragging the hay across the ground. 2.you dont lose as many leaves because again...your not dragging the hay across the dirt. 3.it leaves the hay in a fluffy window that not a tight rope like a rake. 4. because of all those reasons you can make better/higher quality hay.
