Are any of these conversations civil? Normally, when one says "no offense" it means they choose to give offense. Yes, I take offense. I do not live in a cave, but I do work overseas and find much of US news to be superficial and trivial. Some believe the birth certificate to still be an issue. I don't know. What I do know is that many want Obama to put it to rest by providing the original, but he has chosen not to. The Supreme Court refuses cases for many reasons other than lack of merit.

Actually, "having your head cut off" is an example of an execution, not torture. Waterboarding is torture. It doesn't kill you, but it makes you suffer. You may be aware that the U.S. executed Japanese soldiers for waterboarding American troops during WWII. What does that tell you about the nature of waterboarding? You may be interested in viewing some demonstration videos of waterboarding if you're unfamiliar with the technique. The U.S. has ways of making you talk, it seems.

But those that gave the advice Should be at the least be disbarred from any position of advisory duty for ever.

I'll bet the ranch that a formal indictment will never happen. This is all about political finger pointing and nothing more! This could backfire on Obongo in a very big way and he full well knows it. In the interests of fair play why has he not released the documents on torture in their entirety? There is something on them that proves the effectiveness of the interrogations and the good results no doubt. That too would all come to light at trial and Obongo needs to be careful.

There is more to it then just that, don't you think that Bush and Cheney would mount a formidable defense and maybe even walk? Now that very possible scenario would not bode well for Obama. If he has a formal indictment handed down by a grand jury then he would be opening a very large can of worms and he isn't stupid.

If they got a jury, they've got a good chance of acquittal. But it would be painful for the nation and the courts won't want to get in the middle because they are always deferential to claims of national security. It would be a huge can of worms.

The reference to WW2 Japan is entirely bullshit in my opinion. If the Japanese captured you and chose water boarding over all the other far more cruel techniques at their disposal then you got lucky. Right on! The truth is in the blacked out portions of the torture documents. The blacked out portions detail what info was garnered and how they used it. If the Democrats had a modicum of integrity they would release the documents in their entirety for honest debate. Water boarding was one of the charges used to prosecute the Japanese soldiers.
no doubt many other charges were made but water boarding was a specific charge to prosecute some of the Japanese.
your analysis is a very oddball attempt to claim it is ok to go to war and use water boarding your wrong it is against the Geneva conventions and as such against American law,as the Geneva conventions are binding on all American citizens.
