@cerneoko There are a huge amount of similarities, both were made by the same author, and loads of charecters are the same, Musica was the basis for Gray, Seighart was Jellal, Let was Leon, Ellie was Lucy, Plue was....Plue. Also, although not shown in the anime, Erza has four of the 10 Commandments blade forms for blades, and all of the alternate Erza spears are based off the 10 Commandments. Oracion Seis are bad guys, and Elie's magic is called Etherion

@cerneoko Also, if you watch the background charecters in Fairy Tail, several times charecters from Rave Master will appear amongst the crowds of random charecters. There's even a bonus chapter in the manga where the charecters of Rave bump into the charecters of Fairy Tail, culminating in a huge battle between Haru and Natsu (cut short by Erza (in a bunny suit) and Elie blowing up a casino for god knows what reason)

@stankynose Hrm, interesting flame war, personally manga beats anime for most of them, since anime is often *tweaked* from the author's original designs to include stupid amounts of fanservice (R+V, bloody ruined by it), huge amounts of filler (Naruto) or alternative plots that end really badly (FMA, oh and R+V), there are so many cases of this that it's a forgone conclusion that anime, in plot if not looks, cannot match the original manga.

@stankynose Also, in Rave Master's case, he's right, the anime was badly done, many plot holes that didn't exist in the original, battles redone to be kiddy friendly, damages done in battles inconsistantly drawn in following frames (cuts swapping arms, wounds forgotten to animate in), and the most important part, the anime is incomplete, it ended at 55, despite there being more than 100 chapters left to go. So yep, Rave manga > Rave anime.
