  • Hey where are the missiles on the sides!

  • funny

  • Wonderful to see this original footage of McKernan Snr's pride-and-joy (his own personal aircraft at the time). Note the Grand Canyon paint scheme was still intact. Interesting fact that this chopper was owned by the Amway Corporation for many years (into the 1990s) after Jetcopters sold it on (and it still had this paint scheme then).

  • No way. HX-1 only came as close as it did because Hawk didnt want to destroy its pilot (mace). He was a friend and key to finding his brother, otherwise Airwolf wouldve blown him away in half the time it took.

  • HX-1 has been and always will be the only thing that almost successfully took out Airwolf. Forget Redwolf and *sudders* Season 4's Scorpion. This was the main chopper next to Airwolf.

  • Your Welcome!

  • One of my all time favorite scripts/ episodes and the H.X1 was incredible!!

    Thanks for posting this here!

  • N1095A your talking about the hx-1 not airwolf you could hide the stuff mechine guns in the in the rear pods and adf missel pod under the belly hell the damn thing could look like a standard bell222A no one would know you where packing the stuff til you armed the system and out came the wepons

  • Annotations For The Radio Transcriptions Have Been Added.... :)

  • Just a guess here, but I'm thinking it was tough to get permissio from the FAA to fly with those big fake rocket pods strapped to the side. I heard it was difficult getting permission to fly the 222 with the fiberglass "Airwolf" modifications. This is really great video. I love how people are casually walking by in the background. I'd be going "Hey it's freakin' Airwolf". Thanks for the vids.

  • Hi... (Yes, I still stop by to read the comments.) ;)

"I heard it was difficult getting permission to fly the 222 with the fiberglass "Airwolf" modifications. I love how people are casually walking by in the background."

Well, then as now--some are a little a little non-plussed or something.... As I can remember a bit, Rick Sternbach did the fiberglass mods designs, and some of the pilots had said it made the lady more stable in the air.

    Well, that's what I heard.... :)

  • the hx-1 you would have a probblem

  • Airwolf was a Bell 222, not a Sikorsky S76.

  • he dont say thats Airwolf , that is from Airwolf ! Reas right ! Wer lesen kann ist klar im Vorteil ! MfG Mike

  • This is an S76 A model that was in an Airwolf episode. They are fairly old now, Sikorsky is about to come out with the D model next year.

  • I wanted my girl friend not a helicopter!

  • Awesome TV history yet again, That was my favorite episode too. Odd that they removed the Big "Rocketpods" from the sides for the show though.

  • Well, it's a 76, but not the real HX (modified 76) that was used in the series.

  • This chopper is seen in the background in the episode Crossover near the end of the show in season 3 so its the same chopper used as HX1 but with its weapons removed.

  • If by the references to "Airwolf" you mean the helicopter that was used in the 80's TV show with Jan Michael Vincent and Earnest Borgnine, that aircraft was not a Sikorsky. It was a Bell 222.

  • THANKS AGAIN .Little confused if this was the airwolf helicopter ,but I think i herd it crashed in oregon after it sold to a hospital...

  • Thanks for sharing your home movies with us, foxtype1973. Much appreciated seeing these awesome machines outside of an editing suite. :)

  • i would love to fucking own one of them. thanks for sharing it with us ;)

  • awesome, the star of the best ever airwolf episode.

thanks so much for posting mate.

  • No worries! ;) Beleive it or don't, but I never saw that episode...it was only when the folks from Jetcoptors were bringing it out that I found out about it, and since it looked rather cool to me in the mid-afternoon sun, well, why not tape it taking off? :)

  • Cool! I love both Airwolf & HX-1! Thanks for posting it

  • Well, can't have one without the other, right? :)

  • Excellent. First Airwolf, now HX-1. Thanks foxtype1973.

  • No problem-glad that you liked it. :)

  • wow, i did'nt even no hx-1 apeard at an airshow, ive seen pics of airwolf at the shows but never hx1, thanks for sharing this.

these realy make me wonder just whats out their thats been lost over time, i dont think ive ever seen any pics of hx1 besides siting in a hanger next to the lady

  • Neither did I until someone mentioned it to me as they were pulling it out of the Convention Center...so I desided to roll some tape... :)
