@Dalgren969 Jamie Stuart left because the life style destroyed him and he wanted an easy life in the country. almost quoted from billy diuffy on behind the scenes the cult.
I loved The Cult as soon as I heard Firewoman for the first time...The appreciation continues now, although Ian seems a little worn down..Who fuckin cares anyway,I would go see them tomorrow if they came to Aussie-land.The Cult fucking rules!!!
There is a reason why this era is so good. It's the rhythm section at this time in the Cult's history. Listen and compare. They added alot of passion and intensity that the others couldn't. If the Cult got the old rhythm section from this era back, you would see the return of the Cult!
Les Warners drumming gave The Cult's music Life. If you listen to the other drummers, they are basically a drum machine. Les put his own spin on it and knocked it out of the ball park!
No doubt dude,I heard someone write on the gretsch discussion pages that his gretsch could handle the gritty stuff.Billy's tone on Gretsches says otherwise eh?Great tone!!
one of the most up lifting songs in my life! :)

The classic Cult lineup
Ian Astbury, Billy Duffy, Jamie Stewart,Les Warner
I miss Jamie on bass.. I don't know what his input was on the whole songwriting process but no album since "Soniuc Temple" has sounded as good.
Les was a fine durmmer too!

I hear so many drummers knocking Les Warner,I always liked his playing he was SO on the ball solid!!
Britdrumphil 4 years ago
agreed. les was an excellent drummer, esp live. he and jamie (bass) were always in perfect sync.
supergwats 4 years ago
Yeah they may not have been the most technically astounding but yeah they were a tight rhythm section for sure!
