  • 12 when I first heard this and I swore to myself I'd never end up living somewhere like siouxsie sings about in this song. I don't know what went wrong, but 12 years later I was the one with my eye at the key hole and ear to the wall. Shit, I even had a 40w bulb swinging from the light cloud too LOL. Believe it or not though this is one of many favourites ; )

  • So, I'm sitting here and I'm in my 40's. I was into the whole punk thing in the 80's, before it was "Alternative". There were only a few people in my town who knew about anything other than Bon Jovi and Guns and Roses. We hung out, we listened to different music, we did drugs, and we saw bands like this. It could never happen again. Can you tell I am wasted and getting nostalgic?

  • @gmcg923 Wish I could of lived at the time, but I'm 36. I was a kid intrigued with that scene but just missed it. I used to play Bauhaus, old Cure, Clash, etc. on college radio when all we could hear was Grunge. Bleh...

  • Sexist Cunts be trollin'

  • Pause at 0:28 you'll lol

  • i move like her

  • hate those eyebrows. shame. and stephen hague made everything sound polite and re-re-recorded. I did hear some track of theirs on Sirius that was fantastic and modern. Still trying to figure out which it was.

  • @Reticuli I want to sex her eyebrows.

  • @zintrige He used to put a flanger on his mike stand. You can see him messing with it just before the distorted guitar parts. He was the best!

  • Oh yeah, that would last a week, and it just got better and better looking as the days went by...until you felt like you really needed to wash your hair :)

  • How did we get our hair to look like that?

Spray a chunk of hair with Aquanet Extra Super Hold hairspray until almost wet, apply crimping iron and hold until the sizzling stops. LOL, really! Then separate the chunk with the pick of a ratting comb and rat (back-comb) it to get it to stand up. Repeat until all your hair is standing up. Yes, it trashed your hair, but that (and dying it blue-black constantly) just made it easier to stand up.

  • @junebugx that's exactly what I always did!

  • What is on McGeoch's mic stand that alters the sound of his guitar?

  • Siouxsie looks fantastic here!

  • How does she get her hair like that? I must know.

  • @BurningFreesias Teasing, and lots of hairspray !

  • @BurningFreesias and there are special .. irons ? polishers ? I dont know the english word, sorry :/ that frizz the hair like this. Search "fer à gaufrer" in googleimages and you'll see !

  • @BurningFreesias My mum was a siouxsie double back in the eighties. She crimped it up alot of hairspray as well.

  • Unnngh so much more psychedelic and eerie than the lp version great upload!

  • @MarchoftheMuffins True, the 1980-81 live versions are vastly superior to the LP version. It's the guitar work I think, much more "in your face" - almost Keith Levine style. I wish they had recorded this song in studio with this setup.

  • WIN! @ 2:05

  • In the thumbnail it looked like Siouxsie was giving a blow job. But, I love the song. :)

  • @Wannafok

  • Lol, true...true....wish I´d be the receiver!!! :)

Anyway, great band: Love U Siouxie!!!

  • @EgonKling ya cat people love it bast forever egyptian love

  • @Wannafok she likes to do that just like cleopatra did centuries ago why make fun of it jelouse

  • @adriancamano1 I'm not making fun of her, I love her to death. And I am not 'jelouse' clean up your grammar, fool. :3

  • @Wannafok you have a dick on your brain :) ...love the song too, btw

  • @Bluzme It seriously does look like that though.

  • @xXPinkGoddessXx well, yes it does

  • @gummiman01 The Banshees helped get the Cure started. The Cure's first big tour was opening for the Banshees, it was the ill-fated tour where the Banshees' drummer and guitarist quit so Robert Smith (of the Cure) filled in for the rest of the tour. They also found Budgie for that tour, which seemed to work out well for them! :)

  • @gummiman01 Are you fuck*ng serious? WHO the hell is "The Cure"? Because if you mean the singer of the band hes name is Robert Smith.

  • gorgeous

  • Divina Siouxsie...

  • 2:05 = haha

  • one of the best banshees performances ever

  • the post punk genre had sooooo many interesting groups, awesome performance

  • woah, never saw this video before. thanks for uploading it. ah... such a shame that i was only born in 1985...i would love to be at the time it was fresh and new. but anyway...siouxsie is timeless. her songs never becomes too old.

  • Sounds like Robert Smith's guitar--is that him in the corner --the one member you can't see?

  • No, it's John McGeoch, who was with the band from 1980 - 1982 and is heard in the albums "Kaleidoscope", "Juju" and "A Kiss In The Dreamhouse.

Robert was with the band briefly in late 1979 and joined them again after McGeoch left in late 1982 until early 1984. Robert is heard on the albums "Nocturne" (Live At The Royal Albert Hall) and "Hyaena".

  • @VlogKing Thanks for that info.

  • Kneel.

  • If i were there, I wouldn't be able to dance, I'd be staring in awe too. Seeing siouxsie would be sensational.

  • @Glowb0t Point is, whenever bands like the Banshees got on TV in those days it was usually an unexpected breath of fresh air on horrible crappy mainstream record industry disco shite TV shows like top of the pops, and the audience often stood bemused, unable to comprehend a band that wasn't composed of session musicians playing bilious disco tripe, and actually playing songs they wrote themelves on their own instruments. Same as it ever was...

  • DIvine sensuous inspiring beyomd boundaries ever lasting class simply beautiful no more no less!

  • The audience just staring blankly at them... Jesus christ. DANCE

  • Somebody btween 18 and 35 cant give a meaning about music made in 1977 1983 because they heard so much music we only hear the beatles or stones and elvis my god gimme a gun

  • Great performance.

John McGeoch will be missed forever.

  • This was long before Taylor Momsen was born!

  • @Shopola- you must check out Siouxsi's ( pronounced just like Suzy) Peel Sessions!

  • This is the dirst time i've heard of this band (i like them) so could someone tell me how to pronounce the name so i can blab about then to my friends?????

PS I've just been on her wikipedia page. Its always depressing when you find out someone like that's real name is Susan Janet Ballion!!!!!!!

  • @Shopola

Siouxsie is pronounced "Sue-ex-ee"... .... (*kidding*) it's "Susie and the Greatest Band of Our Time" so go blab, spread the word and do your part to keep the legacy alive!

  • @SanityErosion Ta, Cheers mate, the blab fest ahs already began *whispers excitedly in strangers ear*

  • oeh hoe oeh hoe

  • damn i love the hair thats how i do my hair, minus the eye liner i pretty much dress goth oriented but not really. anyways this band is my second favorite band the cure takes first place. this is music. SKATE AND DIE

  • you cant compare this to anyone she was the inspiration for many artists. i love this song one of my favorites. she wrote this in 77 way ahead of our time. might have been released later but that just proves my point. ahead of our time

  • Their music is a little funny, but I often like it. For some reason I like 'the look'...It is just so Goth art - like Halloween its fear without the fear or something.

  • PErfect performance from the beginnin till the end.

  • unbelievable sounds. never to be matched, i'm afraid.

  • 18 people are Marilyn Manson groupies

  • Comment removed

  • @sakredmusic Hey, Marilyn Manson is pretty good, those 18 people are probably a mix of metalcore 'emos', bieber fans, and bon jovi loving Idiots. Siouxsie owns them all.

  • @EpicFail345 haha you're right

  • I need to be in that crowd... just sayin'.

  • to think i saw her live twice in the 80's. wow.

  • please look at my vids

  • @toddplum lol dick

  • Ian Curtis style...

  • @fabasta he started the whole new wave dance

  • It does look like Siouxsie is fellating someone in the still, LOL. Can you imagine? I'm sure she would be excellent at it...just before biting it off!

  • @FunnelIntoOblivion Can you imagine she imagined that?

  • @FunnelIntoOblivion Why do you think I clicked on it? ;)

    j/k

  • @FunnelIntoOblivion

like Ozzy and the bat except.... not...

  • @FunnelIntoOblivion I just KNEW something like this would be top rated comment

  • @FunnelIntoOblivion WTF would she bite it off or? You saying shes a beast or something dude???? Have some respect...

  • @666deathghost Evidently you are a bit uptight. I don't think my humorous comment would be seen as disrespectful to an artist who has a history of using off-color subjects as the basis for many of her songs...running over your girlfriend by car (Miss the Girl), self pleasuring orally (Slowdive), masturbating with a severed head (Head Cut) to name just a few. I would imagine that she would find it amusing if she read it herself.

  • @666deathghost That would be cool if she bit mine off.

  • @FunnelIntoOblivion Siouxie will not bit of, ok?

  • holy crap lol i cant believe i got so many thumps up

  • @dudebearpig05 lol everyone came to this video to say that haha

  • My favorite live version of this song, really great and hypnotic......

  • Siouxsie changed the way I looked at music in my teens; there were very few female artists out that I was interested in at the time. Siouxsie and the banshees direct me down my musical path.

  • i love her hair so much!

  • Hahaha! I see the same thing!

  • Uh the instrumental Is fantastic and her voice us pure yet rough and jagged when she wants ut yo be but makes it all sound great!

  • Thanks so much for this video, I just keep coming back to it! One of the best songs with the band at their peak. For my money, there haven't been too many three piece bands as good as this, and McGeogh's guitar is sublime.

  • she is gorgeous

  • @martyn02 she is to men, you should say "she is beautiful" not she is gorgeous

  • @gliberati he can say what he wants you sexist cunt

  • @whiteanimous i dont understard nothing please improve your english it is terrible

  • @gliberati no, i think it's better if you just STFU.

  • budgie is greatest drummer.this sounds like radiohead beat

  • she looks sexy as hell in this vid

  • I love this proto industrial sound

  • LOL@thumbnail. that mic is flesh tone in that light. But I'm sure it was one of those freakish accidents :) Perverts!

  • She's so cute, there !..

  • great Siouxsie the Banshees

  • to Ispitlike a llama- Smith was in the Banshees for a bit: Apart from being from the same scene in the same era that is!!

The bass and the flanging in this is remniscent of the Pixies (except this was first!)

    Great song!!

  • I just love it when she dances! :D

  • For some reason, the way she looks reminds me of robert smith

  • @Ispitlikeallama Robert Smith played guitar for the Banshees for a while, and he was greatly influenced by Siouxsie.

  • @Ispitlikeallama Should not be any surprise. Siouxsie Sioux and Steve Severin did inspire Robert Smith in the way he does his own look. Severin inspired Robert to dress fncy and wear black sunglasses, and Siouxsie inspired him to tease his hair and wear make-up. Heck, Robert Smith was Siouxsie's guitarist for the bnd for a short while!^_^

  • i love her. I love her face.

  • :lol at 3:50 ...now freeze it! i wish i was that microphone!! yessss!

  • I mean her hair...(My bad)

  • I like hair longer like it is in this performance.

  • kind of reminds me of the place next door....

  • WOOOW I never heard this song until now!!! who says you dont learn something new everyday, or hear everyday.

  • Love the drums here sounds like a james Brown funk break, works really well with this. Good track and great attitude.

  • over 2 decades ago since i seen Siouxsie but still one of the best

  • Great track and great visual dark!

  • I like the atmosphere in this song.

  • The Cure-Pornography :P

  • i love the banshees with all my heart and soul but this video's thumbnail looks like she is sucking a cock haha

  • @dudebearpig05 i coud do with mine sucking

  • @dudebearpig05 i thought that aswell ha ha

  • Thats mainly why I clicked on this one lol

  • @dudebearpig05 my thoughts exactly, lol.

  • @dudebearpig05 hauhauhau

  • @dudebearpig05 exactly.

  • @dudebearpig05 >Hahaha she does look like she is sucking a dick! very hot!!! I think this picture was taken on purpose, think about it?? hahahaha :LOLLLL:

  • @dudebearpig05

    hehe i thought so too....

  • @dudebearpig05 This is great. This sounds more gloomy and spooky than modern day goth rock bands. This female vocalist sounds hypnotizing I like that. The classics is actually good. Better than some stupid ass Evanecsense. Amy is cute but she got nothing on the lead singer from Incubus Sukkubus. The only good legit female fronted goth rock or death rock bands I know is, Inkubus Sukkubus, Siouxsie & the Banshees, 45 Graves, and Voodoo Church.

  • @666deathghost Amy Lee is brilliant in her own way(and she is very lovely^_^), but I can't deny enjoying Siouxsie and Inkubus Sukkubus. I love all of them!^_^

  • @dudebearpig05 you thought the same thing this is the only reason why i clicked on this video

  • @dudebearpig05 That's why I just clicked it to find out what it is. Very curious now.

  • @dudebearpig05 - That's exactly what I was thinking! xD

  • @dudebearpig05 - I thought the same thing!

  • @dudebearpig05 Which she did very well!!!!

  • @dudebearpig05 Hahaha! I see the same thing!

  • @dudebearpig05 That's why I checked it out.

  • @dudebearpig05 I clicked on this because of that. haha

  • @dudebearpig05

Lmao I noticed the same! xD

  • @dudebearpig05

totally man, thats why i clicked :D

  • @dudebearpig05 its good to see ur not the only one, before u i read this comment i thought i mustve been a perv or sumn cuz i clicked this because a that ahahahahahahah

  • @dudebearpig05

Can I get that thumbnail in HD?

I'm pretty sure that's the thumbnail for their hit single, "Ten-inch", not "Tenant"

  • @AJtheory Yeah are you referring to the pic that she looks like shes sucking a cock? Because that's what brought me over!

  • @verbusen

Yeah, I just had to make my own goofy inane comment about it,

but really I love Siouxsie and I'd die if I ever got to meet her : )

  • @dudebearpig05 LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • spredem- she must

  • i love her voice....it s unique..

  • Yeah, really, that thumbnail is very obvious, hahaha.

  • l like her style

also if anyone knows how to get fun spikey lookin hair liek that id like to know pls, me wants ^.^

    ty

  • @Azurebluevelvet

    cuz shez freakin sexy

wht about Brody Dalle from the distillers?

  • @shit311 yeah brodie s next sioxsie. you are right !

respekt for your thoughts-like mine. but sioxsie will always stay on top. got to visit her in france this summer with flowers to bring

  • Back comb it. Tease it spray. Repeat.

  • Lots of hairspray, use crimpers, then backcomb, then more hairspray.

  • she looks Perfect like I remember. one of a kind.

  • Siouxie --- super pussy !!!

  • the thumbnail is too naughty!

  • @uztoobz agreed

  • paranoia.

  • You need to realise that humans are murderous people fullstop. Doesn't matter what label you stick on them - many people murder for many reasons. As far as I'm aware, Siouxsie hasn't murdered anyone. In fact no Jewish person I know is a fascist murderer, so that just indicates that YOU may be being fascist. Stereotyping just breeds more stereotyping just as hatred breeds more hatred. Read the words of Martin Luther King, and them come into the light and stop hiding behind your computer screen.

  • @Ghat801 - Your generalizations do not hold up. Not all people are murderous, a lot of people want to live in peace. Perhaps you are projecting yourself onto the rest of the human race. I have to wonder why you responded other than being invested in what was said. Either you are jewish and trying to make a point that all others are just as twisted in their world view. Even though I agree that some peoples are murderous no one has gone to greater more cowardly lengths than the jews.

  • i wouldnt call u a facist, i would call u a muslim terroist and a racist. terroist becouse u say that its the jews makng the war when its not, and racist becouse, well thats obvious now isnt it?

  • "media" is any source of information, including enternet. w/e ur getting ur info is rather odd, "jews own everything" is from lik the 50s? no, they dont own everything. it sounds to me u belive sum secret society of jews meet together every month or so and say, "hey, were even closer to world domination." r u serious? not only is that comical, its unlikly, and illogical. no, people havnt became suspicious against jews, plz tak a dose of reality, and stop living in conspiracy world.
