has anyone else realized that at this ceremony the guy kept calling it an Ocean Liner! its not its a cheapo Cruise Ship pre fabricated with some modifications.

I Seen this ship and took pictures of her of her maiden voyage from Southampton in october, my birthday actually! I seen her from Warsash Maritime accademy, that overlooks the Solent.

Some have commented on the looks of this ship. I say she is a masterpiece of luxury balanced with an economical marine architecture style that let Cunard have a third ship. The queen Mary 2 cost a billion dollars, I'm pretty sure Elizabeth and Victoria were scaled down intentionally, each aimed at different markets.

With the cost of fuel going up, economies of scale become even more critical and so do the new ship designs. We need to be happy that Cunard even built the QM2; that in itself is amazing in this day in age. Besides, all new ships look similar, none will ever be like days of old. We might as well accept it and move on. I know that I have. One more thing, when one is on the ship, one does not look at the exterior. ... and the interior of the new Queen is stunning to say the least.

@prckay I liked this but wish they had streamed the entire ceremony like NCL for the "Epic" and HAL for the "Neiuw Amsterdam". I would like to see the entire ceremony and hear all the musical selections and entertainment.
