  • @badgerbuddy and also to everyone else, the Wikipedia page on Dixie Square has A LOT of interesting information on the mall. I do not recommend going in there though, as there are cave-ins (allowing saplings to grow inside) and asbestos.

  • How is the song called ?

  • Dat V8...

  • A classic will never die

  • The only reason they even got to do this scene is because thid mall was just about to close . I live five minutes from this mall they never tore all of it down

Cop 2: ''Fuck that, Imma do a 360 first.''

  • 0:15 Miss Piggy and Grover are two different shows!

  • Black friday shopping anyone ?

  • Millions of dollars sunk into 3 mintues. Over-budget. Over-schedule. 180% worth it.

  • lol casually commenting about the stores in the mall as you drive through it. no one can trash a mall quite like jake and elwood.

  • "Lot's Of Space In This Mall" I Love it!!!!

  • The cops have no emotions at all

  • Average_Coconut_Mall_Race

  • The adress is Wrighley Field...LMAO!

  • Oh, this HAD to be all done in ONE take: no way such a colossal mess could be cleaned up and then the scene reshot !!

Millions of dollars worth of damage !!

  • They broke my watch!

  • Must have been a stunt driver's dream to have been able to do this scene.

  • this is waaaaay better than gta

  • Did that guy ever get his miss piggy?

  • My Best Quoats from this scene:

1: Their's lotsa space in this mall.

    2: This Place has everything.

3: New Oldsmobiles are here early this year!

  • This movie holds the record for most cars smashed. The only one able to beat it was it's sequel, Blue Brothers 2000

  • Elwood: Baby clothes

Jake: This place has got everything

  • @NY4Life well... DID have everything lol =)

  • best movie sence on the movie

  • this mall was abandoned only a few months before they filmed this, so thats how they were able to send this mall to hell and back. still stands to this day. Dixie Square Mall in Harvey, IL

  • @badgerbuddy I still enjoy the story about how they had "dressed up" the mall for this scene and they had hired a rather famous security company (Pinkerton) to guard the mall after dressing it up and before shooting this scene. However, they noticed stuff missing, so they hired another security firm to guard the mall's inventory from the Pinkerton guards...

  • @badgerbuddy it may be "still standing" but it's in major disrepair and has been planned to be demolished. I think some of it actually has been demolished partly.

  • @hg3990 Back a few years I read an article that, when they tear/tore it down, one could buy an actual brick from the wreckage. I think it was a few hundred dollars per brick.

  • @badgerbuddy They are tearing it down now!!!

  • @badgerbuddy Not anymore they just started to tear it down.

  • My all tyme Fav MOVIE !!! I watch it and just can't get enough of it !

  • Yeah, my eye's caught it. NSFW (eyeroll). Funny though, nude painting got turned around.

  • what is the music?

  • @Sage80 cant turn you loose

  • Filmed at the still-abandoned Dixie Square Mall in Harvey, IL; 1979.
