  • great song

  • This was my favorite song when I was about 5! :D

  • @TheInvadingAsian buddy, i'm over 30, and this is STILL my favorite song!

  • the greatest country music singer alive !

  • he literally sang his way outta prison.he s the best all time

  • I agree!! Totally different kinda style and a whole different level than the younger ones today.. Old school sangers could steal your attention by their voice, guitar and expression on their faces cuz you could feel the song they were singing by those three things alone..

  • @TravisDewayneBoard as far as i am concerned the COUNTRY STARS out nowdays cant sing to save their lives

  • such a sweet red shirt

  • the hag is the best singer around today,.

  • I'm a long time country fan from Nashville, but I must say that regardless of genre, this is really just unbelievably good stuff. What a great artist.

  • one of my favorite haggard tunes. If someone ever told you I ever gave a damn they damn sure told you wrong

  • one person doesn't have the fever.

  • without cash he would still be in the slammer

  • Brilliance with a capital B, a fantastic song performed by a brilliant performer. Peter UK

  • I dont think that I have ever heard this song before and I think its cool .I havent listen to country and western before and I am sure it fits in to that category.

  • whos better or more important...nobody!

  • greatness!

  • When the zombies take over the world I'm going to be blaring Merle Haggard and shooting and dismembering as many zombies as I can.

  • @Benj888 thats the best idea ive ever heard.

  • Im a Trucker and this song fits so perfect.

  • @countryrebel22 yes me 2 I consider this my theme song !

  • Gotta love The Hag!

  • i was a rambaling man when i was younger banged all over the country joined the milatery at 18 then was all over the place again when i got out but oklahoma was always one of my favorate states and i have a lot of fin here that is why it hurt me to say what i said please see msbones1950 for more info

  • This is one of my favourite songs..reminds me of my dad. Mum stole me away from him when I was 9, and I never saw him again. From what I hear, he never let no woman tie him down..and I bet he never got too old to get around (I had about 15 half sisters when I was a kid, who knows now). Miss you Dad. Thanks for sharing this clip :)

  • @TalonsCage thats a shame your mom took u away from your ol man ... hope u find him someday man ........

  • @MrDogoman Thank you :) It's just great that people share things like this, and many of us get to relive good memories! Really appreciate your words MrDogoman.

  • @TalonsCage so you're saying your Dad was black?

  • You can hear this song and many more on The Back Road Radio Show! They play only the Best in Alt-Country, Roots and Americana Music! backroadradioshowdotcom

  • bob wills is still the king

  • From pennsylvania (boo) and been from North Carolina to Texas and back on a greyhound!

  • Love this song!

  • for you beadles

  • he should've never got rid of roy nichols.

  • @909830 I would agree with your statement. However, Roy retired in 1987. He had a stroke in '96 and could no longer play. He died of a heart attack in 2001. I say this with my hat off. Clapton, Van Halen, Nichols... I'll take Nichols, please.

  • for beadles in out laws

  • @itsmefarting I was wondering who farted. By the way..... It's me sharting.....

  • Merle Haggard rocks. Love this -- "I wanna die along the highway and rot away,

    Like some old high-line pole"

    Freaking awesome!

  • He's just too good. Love love love him.

  • this guy has more talent in his left pinky fingernail than anyone on todays country radio.

  • The Hag! No smoke, no gimmicks...just a man singin' AND playing lead guitar.....these kids today can't hold a candle (another great Hag song)

  • what would life be without merle haggard

  • Merle je třída.

  • Not many singers sound better in concert.

  • THE OLLIE FURWA SHOW

  • ramblin is like a aimless travelling like a hobo or something or at times like a truckdriver

  • ramblin is like a aimless travelling like a hobo or something

  • im 17 and i want to know what "ramblin" means

  • @Corey93cope Ramblin' is a restless nature. Not wanting to stay in one place for too long, not wanting to be pinned down.

  • the coolest guy on earth!

  • if someone told ya i gave a damn, they damn sure told ya wrong!

  • Ramblin' was definitely a 70's term. also heard in songs by Waylon Jennings and the Allman Brothers.

  • He has Lived, The one,s now days grew up with a silverspoon in their mouths, thats why there is no country music!!!!!!

  • Just great. What else can you say? I've loved this guy for 40 years or more.

  • this IS country music , this is when the entertainers could sing and play vs the junk out nowdays. The best era was from the mid 70s-late 90s in my opinion, it was more of an art than it is nowdays

  • @Mattea68 I agree to a point on the mid 70s to late 90s except I like the late 50s to mid 80s. The stuff before the late 50s all sounded like the same banjo picking tunes to me. When the late 50s came along each singer and song writer pretty much had their own sounds and writing styles. Then it went to shit somewhere around the late 80s to early 90s and has been there ever since.

  • Oh to have the fever and not be able to ramble....

  • son of a bitch!

  • Classic

  • I really like this - great opening guitar solo Merle you ROCK!! THIS is COUNTRY!

  • Merle for President and ohnny Cash For vice president dumbs up if agree

  • @lilrob792

I personally would put the the Man in Black at the TOP of the list. Also, are you sure you didn't mean "thumbs"?

  • Damn I miss having a 500 horsepower Kenworth W900 heading west anywhere USA jamming to Merle

  • I LOVE MERLE HAGGARD!

I've Been Listing To him since i was small and im only 18

    truly a legend

  • is this the Ronnie Profit show?

  • @bnewsom81

No, this is from Ralph Emery's "Pop Goes The Country".

  • @Johi2410 Thank you I was not sure. I remember this show too. Ralph did a show called Nashville Now and this show and one other but I do not remember the name of it might have been The Ralph Emery show? These and the Ronnie Profit show and a few others were the good old country. I think Glen had a show and Johnny and the Mandrells and Marty had one too I think.

  • A definite Classic, they dont come any better

  • Merle rules the stage....

  • Da man. Da best. always ahead of the rest. Merle.... Young and now old, always a great story to be told.

  • my ears can stand to hear Ramblin Fever anytime

  • I'm 31 years old and get to see him for the first time in concert come January, words can't describe.

  • i`m a 30yr trucker... this song is what inspired me to follow my dream! thanks merle, you been with me through 7 1/2 million miles...

  • I hate it when they don't zoom in to the lead guitarist when there doing a solo.

  • That ol dually gets ready to run listenin to that song. Merle is the ultimate road hand.

  • Nice licks there, Mr. Haggard...

  • The King of country hes just the best

  • I dont let no women tie me down-boy thats something that happens to all of us eventually!

  • David Allen Coe and Merle Haggered are my 2 favorite singers!! but i luv all country singers!!!!!!!! =] rebel for life! GO SOUTH!

  • Merle...you're the best! Here's to you from Buda, Texas!!!

  • I could hear Ronnie Van Zant sing and Steve Gaines pick this tune!! Lynyrd Skynyrd would have done a good cover on this one!

  • Awesome guitarist. A very fine singer, and songwriter.

  • @kc768 How bout puttin ole Merle with Mike Bloomfield for an afternoon ? THAT would be interesting.

  • Bring back real country music like this.

  • Where I live, it is all modern country, all the time. So many areas however have some classic country radio program, and I'm lucky if I can here something from Alabama much less Merle, Waylon, Willie, Jones, or Cash.

  • @HHSGDFootballJPD :( I feel ya! Its the same where I live too. Though when I go visit my husbands parents, they have a station that plays classic country so I can at least hear it then. :) But yeah, it sucks, I can't stand modern country, after I listen to the older stuff, it just feels fake and plastic. :( It sucks. :(

  • I bit before my time. But Ramblin must have been a popular expression in the 70's. I like Waylon's ramblin song too.

    just an observation

  • I think "rambling" exemplified the 70s

  • merle haggard is the best country singer ever and he is country not like the acts today claiming to be country merle is real good country music

  • no doubt about that

  • If he ain't great I don't know what is! In my opinion he is one of the greatest country music singers that has ever been.

  • As many times as other try to duplicate this song they murder it. No one can do this song like Merle plain and simple

  • This is one of best songs, but check out "Huntsville" on youtube too!

  • his best song

  • man BONNIE wearing leather.. Merle fan since 82 thats when i turned five and could understand the words..32 now and never knew bonnie had it in her..

  • One of the very best ever in true country music !

  • good 1 man god bless

  • This what country is all about!

    just plain awesome music,

and you gotta love the guitar pickin : )

  • I love this song!!!

  • he is the "King of Country"

  • @heatseeker213 I wouldnt go that far, he is good but the King of Country Music will always be Roy Acuff

  • @Mattea68 that is your opinion and this is my opinion

  • Agreed! This man is irreplaceable in country music. God gifted him with an untouchable talent. He is my favorite country/western musician! Plus, he writes such great music.

  • @heatseeker213 I wouldnt go that far, the king of Country Music will always be Roy Acuff and Merle would be first to tell ya that, thought merle is next in line behind Roy

  • Some good guitar pickin'. You don't hear this style of playing anymore.

  • Yepper!! The greatest song by the greatest..Mighty Merle!

  • im got ramblin fever

  • awesome

  • the greatest that ever wrote and sang a country song.
