the part where wire goes to other side of the car is not very visible. I would not attempt this installation based on this part of the video, it's unclear exactly what should be done. it looks like one blue wire goes to something, not clear to what. The other loose wires just hang there? some intelligent talk about this option or that option later, but not clear exactly how it winds up now. it's probably correct but just not clear.
This was not intended as a instructional video from the manufacturer. We were just two guys installing one of the systems in the one guy's car. The video is intended to show the general steps required in an installation. If you have any specific questions, web forums such as PriusChat are good places to speak to many people who have installed theses systems.
Did you consider instead of a toggle switch using the car's already present ignition switch? After all, if you're removing the electric engine to run entirely battery, why not use the existing electrical system?
The engine is NOT REMOVED from the car. This is NOT a CONVERSION to an electric car.
This is a hybrid (which already had both a gasoline engine AND electric motor) which simply has some additional batteries added to improve it's fuel economy by getting some of the energy from the wall electric outlet.
How is your car operating now with this kit installed, I have the same kit ive had nothing but problems with it, bad batteries bad converters, parts missing etc, have you had any problems yet. ive made it maybe a few miles before having some thing go wrong, Im making my own bms for the kit, as the one that comes with is only good for wiping your ass, Mac
Hi Mac. It's my friend' conversion - I just edited and posted the video. I haven't heard too much from him yet since the install. We ran into some similar problems to what you said. Tim is also working on some sort of BMS, but not sure exactly what.
Hello, Tim here. Yes, the kit has component problems. Yes, a major problem is the BMS (rather the lack there of). I am working on a very simple drop in BMS solution to make the kit workable until they come up with something better. You can follow my progress on priuschat.

Oh, o.k. My mistake. That certainly makes more sense to me now.

We should talk and share ideas on it.
