  • its cold and/or the tires suck. you can tell by how slow it pulls in 3rd gear.

  • Stock 260 HP 260 TQ

Stage Kit 290 HP 340 TQ

You'll lose a little to the wheels due to drive train friction

2nd gear wheelspin with Traction Control off on dry pavement with warm tires will happen on a stock SS if you floor it around that RPM range

With the Stage Kit, 2nd gear wheelspin happens pretty easily at even 1/2-2/3 throttlearound 2500RPM. And you don't need to peg the throttle to the floor fast. You can ease into it and spin them. Tons of torque from the upgrade.

  • yeah well that's the way Honda rolls. Honda still gets 200-210hp NA

  • @Chevyguy2003 no, not 10's but a mid 13.

  • my turbo RSX acutally is pretty fast for low boost

  • wow, pretty slow turbo car.

  • Tires must be bald or cold

  • I really do have a turbo RSX-S

  • @MaddDogg81 you need more videos of it tho

  • @FUCKINROCKIT That is why I sold it. It was really comfortable and had more options than my cobalt ss, but slow as hell.

  • Nice car man, those SS/TCs are really stout.

  • @harley1450000 are you saying they don't hit 11's with slicks, bolt-ons, and a tune? /watch?v=0kHWvKofkxk&playnext_from=TL&videos=tCRkmaIlBKg cause that would be some proof if you need it, there is one other guy that has done it so far that i know of, and 2 people on cobaltss have hit 12.1 i believe

  • I always got nervous to see my coolant over 190 is it okay?

  • @tornadostorm18 - No sweat. If the PCM sees an over-temp issue, you'll know before it even begins to cause a problem. Most N/A cars run well over 200*. If you're worried and want to run cooler, change to a lower temp thermostat.

  • @v8rangerboy thanks I'm always nervous about temp. I had a grand prix that ran at 180-190 then jumped to 220 when i wasn't looking. I went through 2 engines.

  • @tornadostorm18 - Yeah a jump that big is definitely not normal though. There was a problem there.

  • @tornadostorm18 did u ever get the resolved???? Its something to do with ur cooling system thats not working right. ive had my Grand Am for 10yrs n i only replaced the upper radiator mount to the engine block n that was it oh n the BCM that i screwed up when i got a hole in my vacuum line cause a web site said i could change everything to white face guages n after i found out i couldnt do it i looked on the web site n it said GT versions only. Let me know if u got it solved.

  • @Thegreatjoker13 Did the pontiac get resolved? Yes they put a new engine in, it started acting up. I had no idea how to fix it, so I sold it to a guy that said he knows cars, so hopefully that car is still working.

  • @tornadostorm18 hmmmmmmm it could of been ur BCM (Body Control Module) that was sending out wrong signals to the motor its hard to say with all the crap they put on motors now. if it was a 1900-70's model car then it would be easy to pinpoint the problem but now all these computers just make it more crap to go wrong n all the electronics in the domestic cars come from Japan or Thiland or China. Its sad cause u look at the old cars n look how long they last compared to todays cars...

  • @Thegreatjoker13 Well if you look at it in a different way a lot of cars today still last as long as the old cars (except for certain models), but they can be a pain to fix. Many people just don't want to fix them or have the computer software to pin point problems so they get a new one. A lot of older cars don't get driven around too much any more. People park them and bring them out once in a while. Beautiful cars, but like anything mechanical can be a pain in the ass.

  • @tornadostorm18 soooooo true n the old cars r getting harder n harder to find as well. If u look at an american made car u see that most of it comes from JAPAN so its not the Big 3 fault for shitty cars its thier fault for putting products like that in thier cars n not having it made here lol but oh well what can we do lol i still take an american over JAPANESE anyday of the week

  • maddog is ur brother mustangmike by chance, if not u two should def. get together u both seem to think a turbo rsx will beat a t/c ss. if u r running a turbo rsx i wanna c the list of mods ur running

  • mustangmike just runs around spewing bullshit everywhere....

  • relax yeah I should get vids

  • Comment removed

  • really lets see it!LMAO trolll! im sick of seeing youre comment everywhere about youre rsx turbo blah blah fag

  • not bad your 40-80 is about what my 40 to 100 is........ you need a tune..... that is all i have and i'm rocking a 60-120 in 7.5/8 seconds

  • cobalt ss wont beat a z28 or a camaro ss. a cobalt with chip, exhaust, and an intake would be an interesting race. but hands down i give the cobalt a win over the mustangs.

  • they will beat both of those cars stock i have a 79 vette pushin 475 horses so im not putting them down just saying

  • i dont care what anybody says, the turbo SS cobalts are pretty nasty for the money, they will walk stock z28s and give stock camaro ss and 05+ mustang gts a run for their money

  • LOL you're saying that a Cobalt SS will walk a stock LS1 6 speed Z28? My friend's modded '08 SI hung with a Cobalt SS and my other friend's LS1 Trans Am with light mods walked the Civic by 10+ cars, nuff said.

  • obviously your friends cobalt ss is SUPERCHARGED not TURBOCHARGED i ran a new turbo si boosting 8 lbs in my TURBOCHARGED ss with a tune..... i put a full car on the turbo si, and i WALK ls1's that are stock

  • Yes, the turbo cobalts are considerably faster. The one I mentioned was S/C. You shouldn't be able to walk a stock 6 speed LS1 car though, it should be an even race. I've seen a stock LS1 6 speed do 13.2 here with just tires. I've seen a new turbo Cobalt go 13.2 here also , but it had GM stage 1 and some other stuff. Good cars.

  • it's not the 1/4 mile times you should look at it is the traps :) i don't get to the track often so i do ALOT OF ROLLS ;) and a ls1 camaro stock vs stock ls1 is an ok run..... i am tuned and right around 303whp and 338wtq with a semi-aggressive tune so stock ls1=no chance actually i ran a 03 vette last night from a 40 roll and put about 2/3 cars on him....... tune ftw

  • @gtdrummerdude turbo cobalts hit 11's with slicks, tune, and bolton's.....

  • @widowedeight What? haha

ZZP's SS/TC Runs an 11.43 with 525 HP. Thats changing internals and all. Whoever told you that is an idiot.

  • @ZachEffinIrick the only reason that isn't a 10 second car is cause they are still having fueling issues, before that car was big turbo, they ran 11.9 @114 there is a vid of it in my favorites, here it is, just put it in after the com, /watch?v=0kHWvKofkxk&playnext_from=TL&videos=tCRkmaIlBKg who is the idiot now? there is also another "stock turbo" cobalt that hit 11.8@115 but i dunno where that vid went

  • @widowedeight I hadn't ever seen that video. Thanks for that actually. Sorry for my remark earlier.

Matts a hell of a driver though, IDK if hes driving there, but goddamn I envy that man haha

  • not wet. in CO. so been lucky with dry roads and i don't drive it in the rain or snow.

not much of the car left is stock.

  • You're having traction issues because you have your traction turned off silly. Still sick you can spin em like that at 40mph. I have the hhr ss and even with traction on it spins like crazy and kicks on the ESC. I love these motors!

  • yeah i am like 199 for my collant norm. nice pull i've done that :)..... ever just keep spinning 40 to 100..... guess i need new tires

  • LOL nice SLOWBALT. How many times do I have to pull that thing?

  • Yeah, mines usually running 199 on the highway

  • Yeah these damn cars run Fn hott!! My ss/sc didn't run nearly that hott!! I have planns to fix that S**T this spring though!

  • Your coolant is 15 degrees hotter than mine normally is.

  • 196 is normal. even 205 is. esp. if you read the dash temp. i read most off ecu on lappy.
