mortar? mortars have 2 stages. the propelant ignition, and the report. simply the ignition would have shot the shell 2-300 feet out of the pumpkin and exploded with colors. If i had to put my money on the most probable cause of the explosion, i would have to say 10-30 grams of confined flash powder. (basically he used an oversized m-80, which is completely illegal in all of US without type 54 ATF permit.)
