Okay . Did you try the amps with the sg? Because ive heard that emg's wont sound good without a tube amp. But im definitely gonna try alot of amps soon!

I'm pretty sure I tried them with my Cort, not the SG I've heard the "EMGs only work with tubes" rumour too, but I don't know how true it is since I've never really compaired a good SS and a good tube amp side-by-side.

I know this 'cause I own a Bugera 333XL and a shitty Line 6 spider 3 , and trust me, the EMGs sound WHOLE LOT solid with the Tube amplifier.

Haven't had much of a chance to play Cube, but when I did, I liked it. Other options are the Vox Valvetronix (I really liked the 15w I tried) and the Peavey Vypers. The forums and such seem to hold them highly. Have you looked at the Ultimate Guitar or Harmony Central sites? They both have gear reviews, which might give you some ideas. Also, go out and try some stuff and see what you like (use your own guitar if you can).

@BennyCrap I tryed an ESP ltd MH-350FR (has EMG 81 bridge 85 neck) on my Roland Cube 30X and it sounds incredible its heavy and packs a punch I never thought my Roland could sound so amazing I use an epiphone G-400 the stock pickups are good but definitely is no EMG

Hi thanks. On this I used my Hiwatt Maxwatt bass amp, with a Boss DS1 distortion pedal. Now I'm using an Engl Screamer 50 and no pedals. You can hear the Engl distorted on my "Cloud Connected" and "Down Tuned metal demo"

i meant t epiphone :p but its either the prophecy or the goth explorer, but the prophecy is a little more expensive but got ebony fretboard and the emg`s :P im not sure witch one to go for..:/

Like I said I've no experience, but the Prophecy one looks better on paper. I really hate the "Futura" body though - a normal explorer would have been great. I'd say try em if you can - aside from different specs the have diferent necks and body shapes, so they'll feel different. Give it a good thought and go with the one you like most. Sorry I can't help much more than that.

I have no idea - the only explorer I've played was a Hamer Standard. This probably has better pickups though, since I think the explorer uses stock Epiphone's (unless you mean the Gibson one - that had EMGs I think)
