  • It's unusual that the bell stays on even after the gates are lowered. I've never seen that before.

  • Was this from MSTS? (Mircosoft Train Simulator)

  • @shumacwilder Nope. Real.

  • SWIFT - Sure Wish I Finished Training

Sure Wish I had a Faster Truck

  • First # of second train starts with 7??? thats what i saw. so its an ES44DC

  • nice catch on the meet

  • CHINA MUCH???

  • MUY BUEN VIDEO

  • 3rd engine is 5387 and 5307 is the 4th trying to get the 2nd number on the 2nd engine but it is pretty blurry

  • The first train had exports, while the second train had imports.

  • I call the point at where two cars/trains meet on the road/railroad a "node". So what you caught on tape here was a node between two trains.

  • That BNSF engine had a nice horn.

  • Great video. Love how the first train was hauling ass. And that second train is so long that by the time we see the tailend, it has visibly slowed, I'm assuming as it enters Barstow.

  • cool

  • does anyone know what bell is on the crossing??

  • GS E-Bell

  • I can clearly tell by the horn and extremely close looks, that a GEVO is leading the 2nd train.

  • I remember this crossing well. This must have been about 20 years ago but I was with my father behind a semi and the arms started coming down as the truck went through and took off the arm with its trailer. He was lucky yet never stopped. Not sure if he ever knew but funny how I rememember that just as yesterday.

  • Classique! I had to save this one. Thanks a trillion times

  • glad you liked the video.

  • General Signals Electronic bell.

  • why do they horn there? the gates are closed. in germany where i live trains only horn at non gated crossings, and at no other crossings or places

  • Just the way it is here in the US. And if you notice, you can drive around the gates here and people here do take that opportunity from time to time.

  • @Rrxingrick its like that here in Canada too!

  • The reason is because the U.S. Congress made it a law. It is a stupid law that wakes me up at 1:00 and 2:15 and 4 in the morning. I could kill Congress.

  • But at the same time....all that horn blowing STILL kills people EVERY HOUR in this country...Crazy...

  • I love double trains it would be funny if there was a third track and triple trains! lol great video

  • We get a lot of trains like that on this line, we have gone out there to watch trains a lot and i live right on route 66 in Barstow and we watch train almost every day from the front wall, east of the BNSF yard and right where they power up for the trip east.

  • oh sorry I ment a BNSF SD40-2

  • That was a nice train! The other one was BNSF SD40-2 very nice video

  • I forgot how fast those trains go back there!! I haven't lived there since 2001 and I've never seen trains go that fast anywhere in the US!

  • I know that in Az along this same route, they like to haul ass through there, especially just outside of Flagstaff.

  • Cause our line the LaJunta is more of a branch between colorado and the BNSF Arkansas city sub in eastern kansas.

  • Nice I sure wish our BNSF line did intermodel.

  • oh.

  • alot of china shipping containers i bet there filled with lead painted toys

  • it's a wonder how we are attatched to train crossings!

  • I hate that road. The bump on the railroad tracks kinda sucks if you're going anywhere over 30 mph.

  • agreed. That crossing is hard on my car, I have to come at it from a very sharp angle to cross.

  • Do you still have to honk your horn even if there is a train already going through the crossing?

I think you still would have to no matter what?

  • yes.

  • Yeah thats what i thought,

So where was that clip taken?

  • Hinkley Road.

  • Cool cool

but i have no idea where that is :P

Is that In the U.S. ?

  • Yes its in the US. Its in Barstow, Ca. hust like I say in the title.

  • Yeah but i didn't know where that was :P

Cause i live in B.C. Canada

  • oh :)

  • Yepp Yepp

Do you ever go for rides on the engines if you can get on it?

  • I'm going to possibly be getting a ride on Pacific Surfliner here shortly.

  • O yeah that would be sweet.

I have been on some CP Rail coal trains but its so hard to get on now.

  • Yeah, I know. Especially here.

  • Yeah it really does suck that you just cant go on anymore. but i don want to be a engineer in the futur. so then i can go on any time :P haha

  • " but i do want to be a engineer in the future. "

i had to fix my comment ahah

  • Ya i also would like to be an engineer. I live along the CP tracks in Winona MN . Proboly the BNSF or CP Rail.

  • did the cp lines get washed away from all the rain

  • just a few places they got CP trains running again in about a week.

  • nice one

  • thanks

  • wow, you could really hear those dash 9's working at the beginning.

  • yeah.

  • One of my favorite places to watch trains. Thanks

  • Glad you like it.

  • I Love fast Freights. LOL!

This is very rare in California. Nice Video.

  • Are you serious? Especially in Barstow and points east, you can expect to see a high number of freights racing across the Mojave Desert.

  • What I'm saying is that to see two trains like that to cross is something at least I don't see often.

  • Cool Video! In fact I never saw a train going that fast while another does the same speed. Usually they slow down on one. That was wicked cool!

  • Great video, good crossing setup from BNSF, though it's a bit weird how the cantilever lights flash oppositely from the mast lights. I think BNSF should put LED's here.

  • I wish they wouldn't have torn up the old setup though. They really didn't need to IMO. I like that at least BNSF has incandescent lighting here, this is one of the only places that I can gaurntee to find some. BNSF does use L.E.D.s around this place but they are Traffic light dialight Ball L.E.D.s!!!

  • Cool video, love the Hanjin boxes!

  • Glad you liked it.

  • Wow Dude! Great crossing shots! Greater train finds! 2 Dash9 doing a DPU on an intermodel! And on that train, except for a couple, every car had atleasr one China Shipping container! BRAVO!

  • I may dislike General Signals type 2 electronic bells but they sound okay at times. BTW cool double-train! A rare get!
