He wasnt' a trash talker, he knocked guys out, what more do you want? A total pro. You knew going in what Chuck was going to do. And he won fights that way for a long time. He was one of the only, if not THE only, UFC fighter with balls enough to step into a Pride ring tourny. I never saw Couture or Hughes in Pride.

@icedout it's not balls, it's stupidity, and as I said above, he always had horrid standup, just accurate and powerful punches, but absolutely no defense, he was only "dominant" against fighters that had no idea how to effectively strike, they just brawled and played right into his punches like morons, the only exception being couture. Every time he goes up against an effective striker he gets worked, and now he has the chin of a young girl.
He's gotten older and he's allowed his striking to deteriorate as he faced grappler after grappler. He looked good, but not great compared to his prime, against Silva and I think people have a fairly accurate picture of him, his strengths, his weaknesses. Is he still hyped as hell? Yes. But his record has a list of fights as tough as they come and a lot of great strikers before he became champ.
Chuck is a legend in the sport of MMA regardless if he wins another fight or not. Terrible questions, any fighter would answer those questions in the same way.
I can't stand these fair weather fans....Chuck is a legend to the Sport of MMA, hes a killer in the ring and he lost some of his last fights, it happens and whether or not he retires, he will always be remembered in his hay day as an exciting stand up who was number 1 for a long time.

He's gotten older and he's allowed his striking to deteriorate as he faced grappler after grappler. He looked good, but not great compared to his prime, against Silva and I think people have a fairly accurate picture of him, his strengths, his weaknesses. Is he still hyped as hell? Yes. But his record has a list of fights as tough as they come and a lot of great strikers before he became champ.

I can't stand these fair weather fans....Chuck is a legend to the Sport of MMA, hes a killer in the ring and he lost some of his last fights, it happens and whether or not he retires, he will always be remembered in his hay day as an exciting stand up who was number 1 for a long time.

@owenline nothin fairweather about me, chuck's style was always ridiculous and I've been waiting for these fighters to stop being intimidated and realize the dumbass holds his chin up, hands down, has bad footwork, almost no head movement. He'll be remembered as the guy who dominated before people really learned to strike in UFC. Congrats on that. Also, its not coincidence he lost his last few fights, and he'll lose the next one too. He should've retired a long time ago.
