Charles Gates Dawes (August 27, 1865 APRIL 23, 1951) was the nation's 30th Vice-President from March 4, 1925 March 4, 1929 under Calvin Coolidge, Jr. . Of course, the vice president serves as president of the U.S. Senate, but because Dawes' time in office ended before U.S. Sen. SamuEL JAMES erVIN (D-NC; 578-52-3300) was a member of the body, their Senate paths never crossed. erVIN died exactly 34 years after Dawes on APRIL 23, 1985 in Winston-Salem, NC. Also unrelated: John Cornelius Stennis
John CORNelius sTENNIS (578-60-2319 -- last residence in Hinds County, MS) was a Democratic senator from Mississippi. Because his time in the U.S. Senate also began after Carles Gates Dawes' term as Vice-President ended, their paths in the body never crossed. But, like Sen. Sam erVIN (D-NC; 578-52-3300) and VP Dawes, sTENNIS died on APRIL 23 (in 1995). sTENNIS was succeeded in the U.S. Senate by CHESTer TRENT Lott (R) in 1989. sTENNIS was preceded in the Senate by theODORe GILmore bilBO
Sen. theODORe GILmore bilBO (D-MS; b. Oct. 13, 1877) died AUG. 21, 1947 in NEW ORLEANS, LA. It means the United States will experience its next total solar eclipse on the 70th anniversary of bilBO's death, on AUG. 21, 2017. The path of totality cuts across the U.S. from coast-to-coast averaging about 70 miles wide, exiting North America directly over CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA. Middle name GILmore could evoke aquatic breathing, but surname bilBO ending BO is unrelated to Obama White House dog BO
30th U.S. Vice-President Charles Gates Dawes (b. Aug. 27, 1865; d. April 23, 1951) was married to CARo DANA BLYmyer on January 24, 1889. They had two biological children, Rufus Fearing Dawes and Carolyn Dawes, plus two adopted children, DANA McCUTCHEoN and Virginia Dawes. The name BLYmyer is not related to the FAIRfield County, SC town of BLYtheWOOD. DANA McCUTCHEoN is not related to the McCUTcHEN at 324 S. VANderHORSt or "horseface" QBs--despite VAN B. 30th U.S. Vice-President Charles Gates Dawes (b. Aug. 27, 1865; d. April 23, 1951) should not be confused with U.S. Olympian Dominique Margaux DAWES (b. 1976 in Silver Spring, Maryland) despite her sharing a NOVEMBER 20 birthday with 47th and current Vice-President Joseph Robinette "Joe" Biden, Jr. (b. 1942). Dominique DAWES is also one of only three female American gymnasts, along with Muriel Grossfeld (not related to 044-26-0762) and Linda Metheny-MulviHILL, to compete in three Olympics.

While he did not actually say, Theodore Roosevelt had such a low regard for the job of Vice President that he would have told a critic, in essense, if you do not like my performance as Vice President, de-mand that the job of Vice President be abolished.
This election is certainly historic in the sense that we could potentially have the first black man as President or the first woman Vice-President, but I just found out something very interesting about Herbert Hoover's Vice-President Charles Curtis. His mother was 3/4 Native American, making him almost half. I never knew that and I thought I would share that with everyone.
Vice President Schuyler Colfax (1869 - 1873) is buried by where I'm from. I've lived in the South Bend area almost my whole life, and I didn't even know we had a vice-president buried there until a few years ago when someone told me. I never even knew about him until then, although we do have a street named "Colfax".
Hey excellent selection of music, and a worthy, worthwhile experience watching. William R King the 13th Veep? King, the number 13--weird coincidence? I don't think so--! ;-)
Yes, William Rufus deVane King. Only Vice President (or President) to take the oath office off of Union soil. He was in Cuba being treated for an illness, came back to his home in Alabama a short while later and died before he could get up to Washington, D.C.
