Hubert had two HARD falls and violated the Zayak rule and she has nowhere near the style and carriage of Chen. I think Hubert was lucky to finish anywhere near the top 5 considering her fugly programs and fugly choreography.
You are a little hard on Hubert, although it's correct that she had a sloppy style. She slips several times during the program. I think Chen Lu should have had the silver. Yamaguch gold, Lu silver, Kerrigan bronze.
She did not deserve the bronze over Hubert. Hubert was robbed of the bronze. Actually it appears Hubert beat Chen very easily in the long. Hubert was a clear 3rd (almost 2nd in the long) while Chen was a distant and barely 4th in the long with ordinals from 4th to 8th and was initialy 5th behind Josee in the long. However the ordinal flip put Chen back to 4th in the long and she barely got bronze overall since she was 2nd in the short to Hubert's 5th
@raichmaneuvers No, Nancy Kerrigan is the one who was held up at this competition. She skated poorly in both the SP and LP. After Yamaguchi, Lu Chen had the most artistry out of the rest of the competitors and was also the only other competitor to land both a Triple Lutz and Triple Flip. She deserved Silver. Hubert deserved the Bronze over Kerrigan on the strength of her jumps.
