I don't think that is correct. Voices tend to get better with age. Listen to Beverly Sills, she had a great voice until late in life... Mariah Carey is a skank, she probably did too many drugs and damaged her voice... LOL

Real short version:

Vitas is the victim of a TV show that plays practical jokes. He is told he is to represent Russia at Eurovision and has just a few hours to prepare his song. He suggests "Blue Suede Shoes" but the board insists he sing it in Russian with lyrics they wrote. The lyrics are funny and Vitas argues that it is nonsense "Are we going to a clown show?" but they persist. Finally, he tries to sing their song but keeps laughing.

Basically they are telling him he got a place to sing in Eurovision last minute He plans to sing Blue Suede Shoes. They rewrite the lyrics to something completely ridiculous about patriotism. they dress him like a first class idiot (check the pants tucked in the socks) and he tries to do what they ask whilst retaining a shred of dignity.( I think he realizes something is up at the end becuase he just gives up and starts dancing silly )That's the gist of it
