outstanding! I love this tune and am playing it too, in fact I was just accompanying you across the internet :D Your Dad plays a great guitar! Thanks for picking up the fiddle!
Very well played, Adam. I'm 13 and a mandolin and fiddle player also and I cant hold a flame to you. Have you heard of Merlfest? its a bluegrass festival in north Carolina and its where i started playing.... keep it up, you'll be better than Mark O'Connor pretty soon! ;)
Adam, go here to find out everything you ever wanted to know about this beautiful song. You do an incredible outstanding rendition of it. Jay would be proud. Thank you for posting.
This song was written fairly recently by Jay Ungar. It's Civil War connection is that it was the background music for many of the scenes, including the soulful rendition of the Sullivan Ballou letter, of Ken Burn's Civil War documentary.

Very nice tune. You sure have a great second on the guitar too. I hope someday you could film that feller playing with you at the same time. I'd love to see you both. Again, thanks for sharing this beautiful tune.
my goodness thank you for that great comment..sorry it took so long for me to find it...I love this song. I thought it was an old song from civil war but actually not..i think..if you have any information on this song pleasee let me know...
Actually, it is a 1982 piece by Jay Ungar. It was used in a TV series on the Civil War in the U.S. which is what made it well known...and the reason most who hear it at first think it is a civil war piece.
