  • What a zhenjiao!

  • San Ti Shi should be the start! Then the five element fists!

Simple theory: the internal power does not come from your hard musle beats. it comes from the deep silence and in a relaxed and calm condition by the exercises.

The old classical internal martial arts are fine and elegant and could even be hard. The power is without limit, it depends on your mindset!

  • Want-to-learn-so-bad O.O

  • he does white crane spreads wings very differently. I would like to see the practical use of that move.

  • once upon a time in china, lol

  • Completelly agree with jinchiller1, this nick sure deeply understand Xing Yi Quan and inner styles.

  • and is he really as jacked as he is in the opening picture? cause if so, he's got it all

  • wow, his fajing is incredible

  • So much Chi behind every strike

  • Awesome!

  • Thank you for the hint

  • could someone please tell me the name of the second song playing

    thank you

  • i think we can learn from all practitioners, whether or not we think they are doing it 'the right way'.

  • that is not internal martial art, not xing yi. Just sport.

  • Are you saying Xing yi is not an internal martial art?

  • No no, I mean I didn't see the internal things. Xing Yi is one of the 3 internal martial arts, that is sure! But I miss the internal qi movement, six harmony and so on...

  • ah okay, i misunderstood then =)

  • Well, I wouldn't waste my time comparing people publicly unless one was particularly fraudulant. I feel that Master An is very powerful, and I'll keep myself to promoting positives, rather than focussing on other people's negatives. I don't know Master An, nor have I trained with him, but my vote is that this is a real flower of Quan, from whom we can all learn something about correct power generation. Just as we can learn things from other videos.

  • It Wu Shu Hsing I, over stylized like wu shu usually is. The 1:49-51 part is over stylized Pao Chuan I think. Over done for my tastes....

  • Been watching this video once more and franckly, i don't think his xingyi is that good. After all the xingyi video i've seen on youtube, he's the only guy doing this tiptoe thing. I don't understand why he is doing that. When i see xingyi, i see straight step, boum! His step is kind of sloppy. I'm sure he is a great wu shu performer, but for what i see of his xingyi, very unusual!

  • yeah not so sure me too!

  • Xing yi is a short fist style with long steps..

Power must be carried out proper. Observe the basics tiger neck, bear shoulder, chiken stride and so on. then his Xy should be high level .

The right step takes a long time to perfect.

  • i was going to say something similar. i'm no master but it is quite obvious that he is physically in great shape and the power of his movements are coming form his athleticism not his intention. i don't see any body connection.

  • Dream on.... This guy is awesome.

  • I think he's playing Jackie Chan singing the Wong Fei Hung song in the background of the first form.

  • hate to get punched by him

  • Not an expert or anything myself. Just a guy who loves Neijia Gongfu and has been studying hard for quite a while. And sharing (teaching) what little i know for a nice bit of time as well. Hats off to this gentleman. Cheers.

  • After looking at this more I have to say as I said b4. Very nice! And i have to concur that this branch like all branches has its own flavor and nuance. His jing is crisp and he obviously better than just 'good'. Hes excellent. My curiousity about the effects of practicing Baji and XY together still stand though. The two methods are similar in simplicity and intent but very different in jing. If I was a Baji guy, I wouldnt feel I needed XY. And vice versa. 1's jing may corrupt the other.

  • Bull, ba chi quan, this isnt it

  • No shit. Never said this was Baji.

  • Very nice however his XY looks "Baji-fied". Not the best idea to practice XY & Baji, theyre too similar, and too different. Much stomping accompanying his fa-li and it is Baji that utilizes stomping as part of the power. In XY stomping actually minimizes the power thru the respective striking weapon as some is sent or lost into the ground from stomping. In XY when issuing, the less you stomp, the more jin that will emit from the part of the body that is hitting. Just my opinion. Cheers.

  • Hey, this looks like excellent down to earth XingYi. Wish I could do only half as good.

Will try to come by when I hopefully make it to Beijing soon!

  • I'm inspired. . . think I'll get off youtube and go practice Xing Yi

  • I still want to know what's the deal between 1:49-1:51. What's the application of that? Please explain, it looks quite interesting.

  • Wow, he has an unbelievable Fajin! Does anybody know where he lives? I really like to visit him one day!

  • to ''kick'' his ass with muay thai!?:P

  • No, to learn from him.

  • i saw this

  • I liked his spirit, and his power, but theres something odd in the way he steps. He first tiptoes in then steps....and it seems to get in the way of power generation. Is there a hidden reason you could explain?

  • It's called 發勁(FaJing)

  • Stepping with your toe in a cat stance and then stepping again is called Fahjing? I dont think so.

  • Yes lol, fah jing isnt only for big movements o_o

  • or you can just let him hit you and you'll see if it's fah jing or not

  • Youre just 16, right? go get some Ritalin. Im not talking about fajing. I meant a stepping thing he does that i dont see anyone else doing. Ill only pay attention to the clip poster's response to this.

  • rofl i dont know why you look down at 16 years olds, people practice wushu at younger age, like 7 or younger. but if he's able to use his body weight as power after stepping like Xu Bu then he's fine

  • i that hes too lazy to lift up his foot

  • The reason he makes the little step is so that he can release a stronger burst of power (发力 / 发劲). It can be applied in just about every form or Chinese martial arts.

If you practice Xing Yi or another form of Chinese matrial arts you can try to do it to understand what I mean...

When doing a movement control your energy and power and release it at the very end.

  • (for instance when punching, don't use all of your power from the moment you start moving your arm, but only at the last few inches before just hitting the target). It's the same principle with the little step. When taking one big step with a lot of power, it's almost impossible to get the explosiveness at the end.

  • @JoseAlbn - It's because raising his heel like that before the strike allows him to slap it down harder. You're right that it makes the forward strike weaker, but the slapping noise tricks people into thinking it is a powerfull strike.

  • He makes Xingyi look as beautiful and especially deadly as any of the more widely seen arts! His speed and pwer ar amazing. He's the poster boy for XingYi for the young generation.

  • Between 1:49-1:51, which would be the application?
