Taiwan needs more pilots, not airplanes. They had to disband 28th TFS & put 20 brand-new F-CK-1 into storage due to pilot shortage. @fox730518 對,不只是BVR,中華民國空軍的F-16是全世界F-16推力­水準最高的.就算只是A/B型,性能還是高於C/D型,目前我國­批次20的F-16跟Su-30的虛擬實戰比數是1:3! 而且我國需要C/D型其實是因為要替換老舊的F-5,而不是F-­16!

As for the powerplant, a good start would be license manufacturing or remaking of larger engines, maybe the ones which were used in the Starfighters. These engines are old but much more powerful than the IDF engines and Phantoms, which outperform MiG-29s are still in active service in many countries. F-4 Phantoms turn,climb,fight and bomb better than MiG-29s.

Still, Tawain only got the mini-me F-16, and not sure how good the Mirage-2000s are. Taiwan needs the EF-2000 and Super Hornets.
