Anyway, Belisarius took the majority of North Africa, and Italy, the Goths actually wanted to sign a peace treaty, but Justinian said no. In the end, the Byzantines ended up losing Rome and all the conquered territory.

Basically, you have to type in your CD-Key where it says "Change CD-Key." Do NOT type in your CD-Key where it says "Enter Name."

It's wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy different than Campaign. When I first started playing online, I had the advantage of never playing the game at all.

So I didn't have the Campaign mentality in me. As for people who Campaign 24 hours a day, they get owned hardcore when they first go online because they don't comprehend the differences between a human opponent and an AI opponent.

It's really just a generalization. I suggest you log-in and see what it's like.

Some of the things that Campaign plays are guilty of are poor micromanagement of troops on the battlefield, slow reflexes, a desire to hit "pause," using tactics designed for the AI against humans, etc.

A more "recent" one would be Lord Mahon's "The Life of Belisarius."

Belisarius was a shrewd general, he would add more men to a unit then and add less to another to throw the enemy off in guessing his strengths. To bad his campaigns in Italy were hurt by Emperor justinian, who after in incident where Belisarius pretended to accept the postition of western emperor from the ostrogoths to get into their city. But he regained justinians trust later

Belisarius was definitely cunning. It'd be nice if I could get more literature on him. Almost all of the books by Procopius are out-of-print.

Well, Procopius harbored some hateful feelings about Belisarius and repeatedly smeared him and Justinian in one of his works(though chiefly Justinian) some of things that he wrote about Belisarius' wife are nothing short of digusting and low. He was definitely not a very good secretary for Belisarius, and he compared Justinian to the horrible emperor Domitian, which is definitely unfair(though he acted maybe even worse than him in during the nika riots) but anyways he was not a reliable source

Well something that most people don't know, is that Cataphracts also used a plethora of weapons: lances/spears (kontos), swords, maces, and even the bow. They could be an excellent example of a multi-use unit. There is a bit of a misconception, however, in that most armored cavalry in the Roman Empire were considered Cataphracts/Cataphracti quites (Clibanarii)...but the true Kataphraktoi was much more. Nothing like firing a volley of arrows into the enemy before charging with heavy lances.

And I know my army wasn't historically-accurate, but I was commenting on the proportion of cavalry to infantry.

Hmmmm theoretically you could do all of this without camtasia or any other downloaded software. Use the windows recorder tool to record your voice while playing, and then use the windows movie maker to splice it together with the Fraps movie. I've never tried that myself, but I don't think there's any reason it wouldn't work.

I also prefer antiquity, but in terms of rts battles, NTW2 is by far the best and most balanced. All units are absolutely deadly when they fire a good volley, but they can also be killed or routed easily, so everything depends on solid tactics and maneuvers.
