  • what is the backround music to this clip, its amazing!!

  • @BlacklampMedia au contraire - the square root of 0.01 is 0.1 - but the square root of 1% *OF THE POPULATION* is another equation altogether. The math is as follows: Let x="the population." (0.01x)^0.5 = (0.01^0.5)*(x^0.5) = 0.1(x^0.5). Hence the square root of one percent of the population is not ten percent of the population, but ten percent of the square root of the population. QED.

  • why do we need this when we have chuck norris

  • The square root of one percent is ten percent...

  • what a waste of digital space, and a load of horseshit, best advice is from grandmother dont pick it ,it will become infected

  • Great but indeed the music deforms the voices that carry the information.Although the title is for curious people it may be a good idea to call it something like:''Solving the crime problem without violence''.I mean it does not have to be by meditation per se & a lot of people won't even try to watch it then. Or give it 2 names.Besides ,the roots of organised crime may be harder to tackle. It is a fine idea & I hope it will have worldwide succes without backlash. It depends on a lot.Good luck !

  • they should try smoking pot. works for me.

  • Wow, I guess the old TM-cult isn't gone yet... Before anyone gets sucked into this, they would do well to listen to some of the experiences of previous customers so to speak. Check out minet d org for good resources of that nature.

  • f you intend to affect something with thought.... square the amount of intent that you ultimately plan on using the knowledge for BEFORE you start meditating, and you will affect vast amounts in "no time".

If your goal is decreasing the crime rate by 400 percent, and you had enough people with 400 percent more intent than required to reach the goal... it will happen at light speed.

Follow Phi and the law of squares.

  • This movie rocks!!? Wooooooo! Guys I just watched this at

newwatchmovies site and its effin awesome!

Don't forget to put d0t after newwatchmovies

  • Wow meditations in prison, that population alone would tip the scale, to global conscious, but how can you see what their putting out there? At any rate, better than crime and hate. I say house them and harness their minds, dismantle harp with their mind, equalize global climate with their minds, Fuel peace and love with their minds, Maybe if we were half as concerned with the well being of inmates and their useful revitalization, Prisons could become global think tanks for peace. Much love.

  • huh....peace

  • Thank you it really makes a change to see something going in the other direction to hell.=)

  • I like it...I favorited it...I downloaded it...I am going to share this with others. Everyone do the same. This message much be spread...don't think...just do it. This is going on my page. Do the same.

  • where did you download it? I really want to watch this movie

  • Nice to see such things shown on national tv:)

  • Take some time and learn before making uneducated remarks. Meditation is arguably the absolute best thing for the human mind, body, and soul. It is the only state of consciousness in which the entire brain is communicating with itself. Through meditation we learn to take our creative, intuitive mind and navigate through it with our analytical mind. Seems like you should try meditating, it definitely helps release tension and unnecessary emotional outbursts.

  • sigh, they are just dozing off... no shit they are less stressed. They get naps in school. FUCK YOU ALL, this is stupid.

  • you're getting paid to say this shit aren't you.

  • @johnnybunz To download ANY youtube video...just do a search on the web...search "save youtube" and you'll see a few sites come up...just copy the link of the video you want...then go to one of these sites...paste it where they tell you to...and walla!...it starts to download.

  • @johnnybunz I wish.

  • does this film really exist? I cant find anything which would indicate it does ... its always just link to this video :(

  • What is the name of this song? It's sweet!

  • praying is a form of meditation.

  • Is this still being made?

  • that was fascinating

  • Stop the shit music. Cant hear what is being said. Fucking useless

  • 0.1

  • Beautiful !

  • I NEED to meditate after struggling to hear the information over the WAY too loud music! sheesh!

  • Have you tried it with headphones? Were you listening on a low quality stereo? Do you clean your ears often enough? Are you partially deaf? Was the room you were in full of noise? Just posing some possible questions one should ask when faced with these kinds of hurdles. How did the meditation go?

  • One more simple question; is/are your equalizer setting or other basic setting out of balance?

  • shhhh

  • @grs9769 LOL

  • If it's so good - how come the prisoners get to experience it first and not the warders?..

  • so it didn't work?

    just watch the news...

  • Meditation on this existence is essential. We must take time to reflect, otherwise we become distracted with illusions of fear and forget the positive potential for our consequences.

Consider that with this physical world, if America spent its defense budget (greater than the next 15 countries combined) on providing clean water, food, clothes and education for all of humanity, we could abolish fear and reassert ourselves as one human family, denouncing condemnation for the wiser choice: Love!

  • you speak the words of a wise man i agree also, why fight on a planet that jah gave us (im not using god because the word is evil or something , look it up)

  • this song = instant chill

  • Thanks for this great video. This idea is being continued at least in one place now. Search YT for "The Great Intention". Weekly event for Sq.rt of 1 %.

  • thanks for the video

It would be nice if you could lower the volume of the background music quite a bit, it really makes listening hard.

    All the best

  • Interesting.

  • Its funny to me how quickly people will dismiss the possibility of Peace..why is this so hard to swallow? Why not try and see? Why are you so hung up on "theory" and "1% is actually 10%" Who cares!!! The bottom line is after two months of 4, 000 people mediating on Peace in DC the freakin crime rate dropped 25%!!! Good Lord!! What else do you need to see????? It friggin worked! So shut up and learn to meditate- focus on Peace and see what happens!!!!

  • The square root of 1% is 10%. So if you say "It will only take the square root of 1% of the population" you might as well say "it will only take 10% of the population". Unless you take 1% of the population, and then square root the answer, which would only be about 1800 people, LOL!

  • What the bleep do we know?

  • A square root is biologically impossible.

  • You're right

  • Too bad the square root of one percent is ten percent...

  • pft! almost like a year later and i still wanna know what song this is.

  • I read it from another One Percent trailer vid, and apperantly it's a piece of Gandharva Veda's music. I'm searching it right now.

  • The music is too loud. But, I know what they are saying. My comment is:

Think about World Peace and if you can learn TM and do it every day at 6am and 6pm.

Remember, how you treat others is how you create world peace. Treat everyone kindly. How you treat others is the energy you send out in to the Universe. When you yell at others or treat them badly you give negative energy to wars, crime and domestic violence. Help by just being kind. It's not expensive.

  • Can anyone PLEASE tell me what music is this and where can it be found? I know its Gandharva! I love it!! Thanx

  • I love the music too...would love to know the specific song or where to find it as well.

  • I was one of those meditators who helped to reduce the crime rate in Washington, DC in 1993. I remember how much more peaceful the whole city felt. No wonder the crime rate came down! Yes, we can actually create world peace with just a few thousand people. I'm really glad to see there will be a movie about it.

The music is a piece of Gandharva Veda music, the ancient music of India. The words in this piece are the names of the notes. Instead of "do re mi..." it's "sa re ga ma pha da ni sa".

  • I've checked the figures quoted here, the crime rate didn't go noticably down at all, it just didn't go up as much as the "scientist" said it would, the 25% figure was gained by data manipulation, or "time series analysis" if you prefer, adding all sorts of weather related nonsense. And the murder rate actually went up!

I can't wait to see the movie, I predict it recieve the sort of scientific panning that greeted What the bleep....

  • Take a more objective look. Many factors, including weather, are so closely linked to crime rate that any expert in the field can reliably predict it.

The 25% reduction was measured against a prediction made by a group of experts, including many skeptics, such as the DC police.

Time series analysis is a standard technique among social science researchers. If you have an issue with it, you have an issue with the whole field.

It's true murder went up, but all other violent crime went down.

  • Strange then that the DC police (or anyone else) didn't adopt this as a standard crime reduction technique, if it's so effective.

I do have an issue this, if you can't tell the signal from the noise without massaging the figures like this how powerful is it really?

Let's wait til the movie comes out and see what sort of response it gets from scientists.

  • Police do notice and are grateful for any crime reduction below expected levels. During the assembly, I and others noticed that we felt better.

The DC police became a coauthor of the study. Thus they agreed that the data analysis was done correctly and endorsed the conclusions.

The DC government almost decided to fund a permanent meditation group but pulled out at the last minute. The government of Mozambique did use one for a number of years. During that time, their guerrilla war ended.

  • I'm sure YOU felt better during the course but the crime rate didn't go down! Check the figures anywhere, it's data manipulation, of course the goverment wasn't going to fork out for a permanent group.

And the civil war in mozambique ended 2 years before TM was introduced to the goverment.

The TM movement are clearly better at propaganda than they are at getting governments to keep these courses going, perhaps because they don't actually work?

  • Aarthoor, you admitted before that the crime rate did go down during the DC course. The board that endorsed the data analysis included many skeptical scientists. Perhaps you should talk to them.

TM in Mozambique's government started in 1992, shortly before the war ended. For several years afterward, the government promoted TM. The country remained peaceful -- and crime dropped.

I know TM works for me, and I know it works for many other people.

    Soooo - who's propagandizing here?

  • I didn't admit that it went down-it's only afetr the time series analysis that it appeared to drop twenty percent. Get onto the

official crime figures for 93 and see.

Cissano in mozambique learned TM in 1992 but didn't make it government policy until 1994.

I'm sure it made him feel good, I do it myself you know.

Would have been more convincing if the war had been stopped by groups doing yogic flying. But it wasn't.

  • If it's so good why not do it in Afghanistan or Iraq?

As a matter of fact they are doing it in India in groups large enough (accoring to the theory) to create peace on earth. Still waiting.

They also claim it improves the weather, yet

in Iowa where there is a major group doing

flying for Americe there have been storms and floods, and the economy is in trouble. They edit those bits from the movie.

    It's propaganda.

  • The TM organization has repeatedly stated its willingness to train peace creating groups anywhere, including Afghanistan and Iraq. Only funding is needed.

I'm glad you mentioned India, where several large groups of yogic flyers have been building up. In that time, the number of conflicts worldwide has dropped significantly.

The press generally plays up conflict and plays down peace. You may have gotten the impression that war is still common if your only source of information is the news.

  • You must be joking. Iraq, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, Somalia?

What about worldwide reccession, global warming. It don't sound very age of enlightenment to me.

But, as always I hope the optimists are right and applaud them for giving it a go. You never know, it might all change tomorrow and we'll know who to thank.

  • If you focus on the same five bad things that happen in the world every day as covered by newswires like the AP, Magnum, Getty, etc, then your world view becomes inundated with the idea that all is war and conflict. Aarthoor, not every glass is half empty. Focused intent does work. Group intent can heal many things. Sometimes when things happen that are less than ideal, you might want to consider that it happened because of past decisions based on fear, insecurity, greed, and thoughtlessness.

  • And then what happens is by that point, it becomes like a car with no brakes, it has to work itself out in the destructive nature of what brought it into its existence, before healing and going away from that into balances and equanimity can occur.

  • Again, it's a nice idea but it doesn't appear to be happening. All of the good things that happen on earth are claimed by the TMO as caused by them, even the Berlin wall coming down!

All the bad stuff is also now being claimed as caused by them in the form of "purification" a sort of settling down that just happens to result in the sort of things we see happen as a consequence of war and financial impropriety.

  • Did you know that the floods near the so-called invincible America course were blamed, by people in the TMO, on immoral living in the student towns nearby?

It's cult thinking, they believe in a magical force called nature (actually God) that you have to be in "tune" with or your life goes wrong.

All good things that happen to people who do TM are called "support of nature" Isn't it sweet, all us sinners will have to face the floods.

  • Nothing will stop on a dime. Actions have their own physics to them. A ball in free fall will not stop mid fall, no matter how hard you meditate on it. Data manipulation appears to be occuring with you as well, aarthoor. You are looking for crime, and wherever you look, surprise, surprise, there you will find it.

Thoughts create reality. Emotions create intention. If you focus on changing the thought and the emotion, the outcome will be altered. The unified field theory is real.

  • Looking for crime and finding it isn't data manipulation, it's honesty. Your ball analogy fails because it was supposed to have stopped being thrown because of TM.

I don't believe the unified field theory of consciousness and nothing I saw in the TM org convinced me.

J Hagelin would be a laughing stock amongst physicists if they knew he was claiming to have finished Einsteins work, there is still much to learn. Better to be honest about that as well rather than claim he knows everything.

  • So what you're saying is, if we all think about flowers instead of the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and now Georgia they will stop?

How about the financial recession or global warming?

It's a nice idea but I think your glass is half broken or full of new age rubbish.

What the TM org is saying is the world's problems can be stopped by meditating and they can quantify this. I'm saying they haven't quantified it. Not even close, Hagelin was cheating with the figures on the washington course.

  • Are you saying that closing prisons is a bad thing? That the school children who are doing well by the TM program should stop what they are doing? Additionally, you are clearly biased. They have more than the proof needed to show this works, and yet you remain a skeptic. Nothing has been manipulated but your staunch distrust of this practice and the evidence they happily provide.

By the way, just curious- have you ever even tried TM? For five months or more? It might do you a world of good.

  • Ive been doing TM for 15 years and the sidhis for 10 years. I used to believe all of it but after working for the movement and doing many courses realised they were all dreamers and there wasn't really any evidence at all. Not for the ME anyway, of course people should do it if they get benefits though.

I still meditate as I enjoy it but have dropped any idea that it is going to create world peace, I wish you well in trying to prove me wrong. We could do with a bit of peace on Earth.

  • there are 2 types of people on this earth, those who know and live for the truth, and those who know and try to hide it.. what separates the 2 ? CHOICE.

  • I don't even understand what this means. But as we're here the 'maharishi effect' that the group in Iowa are supposedly creating is supposed to improve the financial health of the country. Need I say more?

Does anyone still believe that the 'maharishi effect' exists? The evidence speaks for itself, it's all a load of rubbish.

  • it's the truth, and i'm sure u already kno, u've jus' DECIDED to choose the scientific way out

  • Erm, this stuff is supossed to BE science. If the facts don't fit the theory the theory must be wrong.

The invincible america course has been going two years and is the world a better place? No, therefore the theory is wrong because it predicted all sorts of wondrous things. Understand where I'm coming from?

  • No, you sound like a pompous ass. What the fuck do you even know about theories. They call it a Theory because it's the most valid explanation of a given event, phenomenon, or realization. If there was something that explained it better, it wouldn't be called a theory anymore. It would be dismissed as wrong. Tell a physicist their unified/super-string theory is wrong.

  • Hagelin's data manipulation isn't the most valid explanation of anything. The crime rate didn't go down, it only APPEARED to after he added his time series analysis. How many times have I got to say it? There is no evidence for it to be a theory of.

There is something that explains all this much better: New Age wishful thinking and desperate crypto-religous belief systems. This bunch are a fundamentalist Hindu cult. I should know I used to work for them!

  • I would put a bet on string theory being wrong as I think it's a clever mathematical construction with too much it doesn't explain and is also background dependent and not a fundamental theory of anything because if there is one thing we do know it's that space and time are relative.

Hagelin is bullshitting outrageously when he claims to have finished Einsteins work. If he ever made that claim to a bunch of serious phycisists he would have to hand his PHD back. The man is a brainwashed idiot.

  • You are repeating yourself with "Einstein work", you said the same thing 3 months ago.

Do you believe in the theory of evolution ? Why don't you apply it to yourself, come with fresh ideas, re-create instead of re-peat.

  • Hey it's not my fault people don't listen!

BTW "re-create" sounds like doing the same thing again as well.

  • Who said it was your fault ? I do not think it is a matter of fault, I see others as not guilty.

What is worth a message which is not listened ?

Yes, it is to make again a different way. At least creative process makes you feel different than repetition, and the whole world does not change and the whole world changes.

Maybe people would listen if what was said was expressed a different way ?

  • The square root of one percent is a goal maharishi set for us, not a biological figure. Whether or not it is real, or has any reality to it whatsoever, there have been studies that have shown the number that is equivalent to the square root of one percent with in a small area of people doing something, the skill will pass to the rest of the population. Probably because of Quantum Physics or something though.

  • "There have been studies" I can tell you are a true TMer.

Please don't bring quantum physics into this it has no place in the macro world.

John Hagelin would like you to think otherwise of course as it's the only escape he has to get you to think that this peace creating effect works.

  • ya ure probably right, but wishful thinking never hurt anyone, and its not like saying something that isnt true that not true in this case is hurting anyone, i mean, religion has been doing it for thousands of years.

  • No wishful thinking doesn't hurt. I used to enjoy it rather a lot too ;-)

But the amount of money it generates that might be better spent on things that really make a difference to major problems, like 3rd world hunger, is a problem for me. Not to mention the amount of otherwise productive time people spend with their eyes closed.

Each to their own I suppose, and you never know it be working!

    Have a nice day.

  • I think you'd have to be here in Fairfield, Iowa to understand.

  • Hmm you still meditate and do sidhis? well quite a big difference between meditation and sidhis for one, and if you are continuing to do your sidhis twice a day than you would know that if everyone in the world did it, how could there be anything but peace? Nobody who practices sidhis also steals, murders, rapes like it says.

  • I don't think TM changes people that much, didn't someone get murdered on the TM campus a few years ago? Doesn't sound too peaceful.

Do it for your own pleasure if you like (I did for ten years) but I think the world peace bit is nonsense.

  • ya i heard about that, bout a decade ago, dont know much about it tho, might of been one of the fairfield locals, but its the only murder in fairfield i think in the past two decades.

  • rofl this sure is premeditated murder

  • Meditate for how you want our country to be. Meditate for Ron Paul! Think Positive! He will win with our help. He has turned it over to the grassroots to become delegates for the convention.

Ron Paul: The Only Positive Change

  • Man, if only the people in those schools and prisons meditated earlier...

  • wat song is this?

  • Love RONPAUL2008

    OM MANI PADMI HUM

  • While iving in Atlanta this experiment took place there since African-American boys were being killed. The killings went on for a very long time and the police were not able to acquire clues! People came together to meditate to see if it was possible to stop these murders. Not only did the crime rate go down significantly during the time these groups meditated, but the murderer was also captured and convicted of the crimes.

  • this video got me high

  • What is that soundtrack? Sounds awesome.

  • Oh my God awesome!!!

  • I just hope people realize its not just meditation on a individual basis that will bring self awareness and peace but it will be all humans meditating together to kill all the reptilians :)) we dont have to go in their holes and attack them we can will them out of existence if we work as a team

  • Yeah I think that's cool... I agree with the meditation thing but why do you want to kill reptiles? Some snakes aren't posionness you know!

  • Theres been a secret war for a Loooooong time

  • we're not supposed to kill anybody

  • Whoa.

So this is going to be a movie?

    Hm...

    In the Summer of 08...

Well we will just wait until then...

  • Awesomee

  • could not veiw it?

  • could not veiw it any ? help please

  • Thank you for posting this :-)

  • awesome...

    bring on the revolution

    it is our hands....

    peace & prosperity friends

we are all in it together

  • prisonpsych, Meditation, when starting out isn't easy... thus this isn't easy... if it were to happen to try and get a large group to meditate and to do it every day for 2 months, that is not an easy task. So the success of this program would not be the result of something easy... but rather deep concentrated effort.

  • Yeah I agree somewhat. One minute a day... I don't know if that's hard though.

  • Now we're talking.

  • does anyone know when this is supposed to come out??

    I'm dying to see it...

  • at the end of the video it mentions the date 'summer 2008' so i guess around then :)

  • this is amazing it will change the world

  • pretty goddamn confusing...

    but iget the point

  • How awesome. Meditate on that!

  • The best

  • Note to self: when doing stupid, worthless experiments, include the name of a scientist whose work most people don't understand.

  • It is!

  • Were it this easy.

  • I Love the man responsible for this project!

  • Rather interesting!
