  • Great job over all! A little more time tuning the harp strings would do this performance a great justice, and the tubular bell hammer should probably be padded a bit to cut back on the clanking sound. I would have loved to have been a player in an orchestral performance like this in school. Huge kudos to a job very well done by all the musicians and the conductor.

  • the rhythm is good but the tune is a bit off

  • Keep it up! :D

  • hmm not that good. The flutes and the violines did a quite good job but the rest... Far too slow and - well you hear that this is alot of beginners

  • That was really cool, I'd love to be part of something like this..sounded like animusic but the flute was more like a pan flute...and I dunno what the deal was with the bells, they were too...tinny. I want to learn this on my harp!

  • the bells were horrible, EVERYTHING ELSE WAS AWESOME

  • it is cool

  • Very nice!! :) great job!

  • In the actuall performance of Animusic Aqua Harp, the bells only play once, not twice, but it does sound nice!

  • sound a little bit fals, but hey, very nice !

  • yikes!!!!

  • Tubular bells aren't very good... should have picked a better set of them.

    Apart from that, lovely.

  • Looks like they didn't have caps on the top =(

but yes they did do a very good job!

  • @MozartJunior22 I think he only needs a soft hammer ;)

  • ambitious effort, courageous, well done. splendid.

  • Oh my god ! It's sooo beautiful !

    Thank's for this video.

    They are so cute !!

One day I would like very much playing with others like that.

  • i cried too :)

  • this sounds vary odd by the original

  • 30 people missed the like button!

  • the tempo was really slow, then fast, its pretty impressive, but also the flutes need to work some of the breathing, needs a steady tempo, other wise its pretty impressive...

  • Yes, I cried. They did well!

Thank you for uploading this live performance.

  • a few of notes but hell does it sound nice outside the relms of animusic......dont know why but i could cry !!! listening to this piece of music

  • @animesquirt yes, somebody messed up at 0:23

  • @fireflies985 Ya, I thought that did not sound right. Nice that this song is being played though (outside of animusic).

  • Awesome! Good job!

  • Just watched my animusic dvd again. This is very well done considering you have 1st year students in the orchestra. I played it on my 6 and 12 string guitar. Anyways ... Compliments to you teacher and students

  • well done

  • very nice rendition of this song, thank you for sharing the talents of your students with us, they're great.

  • the nicest version - with a little mor excersise it'd be perfect. Or a studio version of it... The version of Animusic is superficial electronical cold garbage...

  • your version is the nicest one - no question... Because of the orchestra.

With some more excersise and being a studio version it'd be perfect. It's such a pity that this doesn't seem to exist... The version of Animusic ist artificial and not deep - electronical rubbish...

  • wow O_O nice! i am such a fan of Animusic! Aqua Harp is my 2nd favorite (to Future Retro)

  • I would like to learn this instrument, it's so nice... maybe I'm too old, but i can do it anyway. First I need money to buy a harp... -___-

  • Amazing beautiful music !

  • So beautiful. I only with the sound quality saw a little better.

  • We need an "Animusic LIVE!" tour now.

  • i always loved that piece ever since i saw it, those people are great

  • lovely class!! ...thanks for posting this! i was inspired to learn the harp while visiting the netherlands, (where i was born) and my first piece was by "ank van campen" - so despite my good laugh at the above "language comment" ;-D) i can let everyone know that the dutch don't only play good football (we'll see who's better soon ...) but have fantastic musical schools and academies (specially for jazz) - correct?

    cheers from germany!

  • @kalthaushummel Hi, Thanks for your comment. Yes, Holland has a lot of good quality music schools and conservatories. Some of which with special attention to Jazz (harp) see also jazzharp.org for the academy this fall.

We'll see who's best at football this sunday? ;-)

    Greetings, Janne-Minke

  • the tempo is quite a bit slower.......

  • pardon me but is there an alternate name for this piece of music?

  • I have seen the song done by animusic and I thought u guys did the song very well, u performed it very well and did the song justice. and the 29 people who disliked it are just jealous cause they cant do it too.

  • i liked the way u guys did that. i have seen the animusic one and thought u did it justice

  • amazing. i played this song for a talent show on a synchronized organ. this video is 5out of 5

  • Aww man, if this had been done as a Lights Out show with glowing finger tips that would have been awesome! But it was cool once a groove got going. Nice.

  • prachtig voor pubers met eerste klassers erbij O.O zou ik niet eens kunnen als derde klasser

  • Great job, but the timing is off.

I can do this song on my keyboard.

    With the flute and everything

  • For a mix of little kids and youngish teenagers, they sure do a great job!

  • Zo, dat doen ze goed! :D hier en daar een foutje, of onzuivere toon, maar voor de rest prachtig! :D

  • It was a bit haphazard in the beginning, but your guys nailed it towards the end - was awesome :D.

  • cellos are amazing! :3

  • I love it! I've always wanted to see real animusic! Only one thing, shouldn't the chimes/bells sound better, or is that just the camera?

  • Hes not striking the top of the chimes. That's reinforced not to ring like that. Probably just nerves.

  • He is hiting the chimes in the wrong spot..you need to hit the top edge for the best sound..thats why it dosnt sound very good

  • too many harpists, too little skill to keep them consistently together

  • Agreed completely... they're all off...

  • rally wonderful, I liked it slowd down a tad like this!

  • :D :D

  • That was awesome! I was getting prepared too to hear the awful screaming of flutes but heard a pure lullaby instead. I wish the flutes in my band could be as good as yours. I also wish I knew how to play the harp.

  • is it just me or did someone mess up on the harp in the very beginning??

  • they did mess up in the beggining and some other parts :p nice job though.

  • I admire what you did here. Someday, I am going to hear this live myself. This is my very favorite song, and your students did an EXCELLENT job playing it.

  • Beautifully done! *claps*

  • very nice

  • Soms valse nootjes :P Maar verder heel goed gedaan!! :D

  • You must be very proud of your students, for this was truly lovely!

  • awesome groeten uit nederland!!!

  • I don't know what they're called, but I would have used those soft (timpani?) mallets. For the first year, that was excellent!

  • A little rough at the start, & the chimes didn't sound quite right, but otherwise not bad!

  • wayne lytle would be proud

  • Lovely interpretation. Well done.

  • by any chance you can send me the flute part?,

  • it was good.... :]]

  • i don't blame anyone or anything for the mistakes but the students may have not been as experienced so they maybe get keys wrong and the chimes.. well lets skip, but ever all it might not been as good but its more beautiful than the animusic video, its got more soul.

  • Haha at the beginning there were mistakes 'cause they forgot to flip levers XD the f sharps. and the c sharps especially.

    but 'tis really nice. :D

the bells sound a bit weird though.

  • nice but you might want to switch to brass bells

  • It's needs a bit of improvement, but overall very nicely done!

Get a better set of tubular bells though, it sounded like you were hitting a radiator with a steel hammer.

  • I know, right? Very good, though, I must say you guys did pretty good!

  • Animusic live. A very good idea.

  • O Rei Salomão,cantava os Salmos com Arpas,Flautas e Pandeiros.Hoje,tão pouco se conhece os artistas talentosos tocando um instrumento tão belo, como a Arpa.Parabéns.

  • beautiful. very nice effort that your school made. ^_^ nice job.

  • I think we need to keep in mind the human element here, and that the video seems to have been recorded on a hand cam. I'd be willing to attribute most of the flaws in this video to that.

In my opinion, there is something beautiful about what was trying to be achieved here. I think I'd have enjoyed this show thoroughly.

  • it was playable not exactly the gretest or best thing i have heard...it was a nice shot at it the conductor was off and the chimes sounded horrible sounded like hammering on steel in all it was a nice effort

  • not great but beautiful

  • it had some rough spots but overall it was pretty good.

  • the intro sounded a little sketchy but over all it was a great performance

  • the conductor was so off!

  • Absolutely spectacular.

  • Ha, this is pretty good. I always thought some group of people should reinact Animusic. I give you 4 stars (because of the tubular bells and the fact that two picks magically flying in the air plucking the harp are much better :P )

  • i like the atmosphere in the animusic video strangely enough. the music seems like something one would listen to by oneself.

  • not perfect but stil nice to do it with so many :p

  • I have to agree, the chimes (or tubular bells, I guess?) didn't sound all that great. But otherwise it was beautifully done.

  • Yea, the tubes needed to be different and made of brass. Brass has a lower, warmer sound. But, good job putting it together.

  • This is almost perfect, only problem...THE ANOYING PEOPLE !!

othet than that and the bells, PERFECTO... :D

    4 Stars...

  • Dit is echt mooi zeg, ik hoop dat je ook "Resonant Chamber" gaat spelen, die zou ik graag willen horen. Knap van jouw studenten dat ze dit zo rustig kunnen spelen! 5 stars

  • Very nice rendition. Never thought of this as an entry piece for 1st year students before, but it's executed nicely. I just cringe a little on the Tubular Bells. What's wrong with that thing? Almost sounds like it toppeled of a cliff once.

  • just a small ding is enough to throw the tuning out. and as an entry level song.... not bad at all

  • what a beautiful song

  • unusual instrumentation - but I love it! carry on!

  • chimes suck

  • those clocks are aweful the rest is beuatiful !

  • wonderfull

this is the best (and only ) harp performance ive seen

it may be the only but its still great

  • wonderful

  • For first year students... very good. I've been there. I know how tough it can be to perform in front of others. The timing is really good and the musicality is fine. Tell your students they did a great job.

  • Love this piece of music.

  • Music is a wonderful universal language and this is a very nice rendition of Aquaharp:-) So in Dutch or bad German..LOL, the music tells about their hearts.

    Cheers!

  • goob jod

  • how dare you?!

  • just a question under the info is that a really bad attempt at german??

cuz spelen is close to spielen which is german for to play, and muziekschool is close to musikschule which is music school in german?

    just a question

and de is close to die which is the in german

  • Ha ha, LOL, that is really funny. In fact you are stating that Dutch (our language in the Netherlands) is a bad attempt at German. I'm from Holland, that tiny country in between Great Britain and Germany. You will find that all countries around here have distinct similarities in their languages. Should I write the text in English then? Hope you liked the video though!

    -xx-

  • They had a different set of those chimes in this video. That's why the sound is different.

  • nothing to say, it's just awesome!

  • This was pretty good except for the beginning

  • Me gustó mucho esta version tocada por niños. Hay partituras en internet, para arpa??

  • the chimes sucked. they sounded bad, i heard some wrong notes, but atleast they did it

  • I agree; the chimes could have been better.

  • i think they suck, are out of sync and have no sense of rythm

  • people in the audience just don't know how ta shat up, do they?

  • people people you do not understand the heart of music i think this sounds beautiful and i get i photo in my head of a peacful lake and flowers lets face it without music your heart wouldnt have a single beat.

  • I mean I'll give them 10 out of 10 for effort but the music sounds lazy. The beginning with the harps is not coordinated. The flutes are too loud. And they do't hit the unison with the strings at the end. And another thing. This is a lot slower than it should be. And that noise from 2:24-2:45 is atrocious. I'd fal asleep from it like the animusic, but I'd only have nightmares.

  • I agree with 2:24 - 2:45 ...

  • No no no. All wrong. The animusic is way better.

  • Good grief I think that guy on the tubular bells was doing it wrong... I'm a trumpet player and even I can see that's wrong.

Great arrangement and good performance =) Kudos!

  • sucks... the animusic is 10x better

  • As one who has an earned B.A. in music technology, I think this is an excellent performance! You stayed true to the original animusic composition. Great job!

  • Which does not make your opinion worthier.

    Great performance!

  • is good

  • wow utterly amazing, i love that song to death and that just made me love it so much more thank you so much for the vid!

  • That was great! You must be so proud of your students! I would be!

  • It's great that you have the song, the video just has bad audio quality.

  • Yes I know, thanks for your comment. Next time we should use an external microphone. The sound quality in my other videos is better. (the condutor playing)

  • I still think you did a fantastic job on the song and the writers of Animusic would be proud to see their work wonderfully arranged. You all should do more. I'm sure they make great concert pieces.

  • btw, did the conductor have ANY idea what she was doing? This looks nothing like what a real one should do..

she's just waving at the kids

  • I dunno, I see a pretty clear 4-pattern there.

  • yes, but a normal one is always 1 beat ahead, so the orchestra actually has time to respond. She's just showing the beat actually, nothing more.

  • A good conductor would NEVER be "one beat ahead." As a professional musician and music educator, this is one thing that will remain permanently etched in my brain!

  • I'm not a professional conductor, I'm a professional harpist and these are my students, some of them only have lessons for a few months, so I'm very proud of them. I thought when I make really big movements maybe they notice me.

    Greetings Janne-Minke

  • I hope i'm notinsulting anyone, but that class

sounds just so darn off key!

  • MY god this sounds terrible :|

    they should have atleast practiced

  • I'm sure they did. They're kids, not professionals. Don't be so judgemental.

  • The sound quality of the video isn't the best either, so it makes it sound off. I do think they had a few too many instruments...and I think a pan flute would be better than a normal one. These kids worked hard though to even get this far. They still did well.

  • lovely.

  • LOLOLOL @ THE GUY WITH THE HAMMER!!

  • Pretty good compaired to the video

  • it's good, but to be honest it hurts my ears too much after 2min

  • thankyou i thought no one would understad!

  • au contraire my friend, they do. It's just a pretty difficult piece for a bunch of first year students.

  • these ppl has got no sense of music -.-'

  • i like the out of tune parts, sounds honky-tonk and bluesy, lol

  • A lot of this sounds out of tune cuz on animusic they tune it better. And I think this is supposed to be faster.

  • actually the animusic recordings are processed MIDI recordings, so they are perfectly in tune

  • Very sloooow but i liked it

  • thats amazing somthing iv'e really wanted too see was an animusic live 5/5

  • That was supposed to be in response to madman987654.

  • on animusic it sounds more pure.

  • On Animusic it's a computer doing the work. This is a young class hard at work, but we hope you can appreciate it. Just uploaded the aqua harp dance mash, this is the midi version. You might like is better.

  • no, Wayne Lytle actually plays the instrument, well, yes, by the keyboard, and then finishes up the sound, (tuning it) with his computer softwere. The parts were is all the computer is the animation.

  • tears in my eyes :')

  • really it should be just one harp, one flute, one bass, one violin, and one tubular bell. so it would all be a solo for each section.

  • dude, your right on.

  • Yeah, but then where would the rest of the class be?

  • scratch the bass and violin. add cello and viola. now you're spot on. ;)

  • That was superb. It's easy to tell your director was happy with your performance she even applauded you before she took her bow. Your lucky to have someone who would take the time to arrange that for you. great job!!!

  • actualy i really didn't like it.

its not close to the real one+there are lots of notes that didn't fit sorry but noe more than a 2...

  • How did they get the music to animusic. Is it copyrighted???.it should be.

  • I love the novelty of taking something electronic and then converting it to "real" music - and a nice piece.

Amateur conductors always give themselves away by waving both arms symmetrically - can't think why no-one tells them about this!!

  • it's a bit different with the flutes but cool nonetheless

  • this is what it would be like if you'd see animusic in concert

  • Amazing. I haven't seen a real version of Animusic yet, so this is amazing. They even got the music, which is really hard. Think about how Pipe Dream would be. The only other thing about this was that it was significantly slower than the original, and those aren't good chimes.

  • Do not try to compare with the electronic version. This is not a studio performance neither a professional recording. I think the idea is excellent and you can hear the enthusiastic ovation at last. That tells me, it was very touchy and turn on the audience. I wish I could be there.

  • they haven't perfected it, but it's good.

  • Well if you see it's just a bunch of young kiddo's, some of them just in their first year, I think it's pretty good!

  • really? ok, that's kool

  • Much kudos for doing the song!

It's hard to convert a midi sound to actual instruments.

But yeah. that last note sticks out like a sore thumb. and those chimes produce a sound that is just to rich. shorter ones would have worked.

  • yea, i meant it as a note. it doesn't sound good with everyone playing a different note to "make it sound good". the way they did it (with everyone picking a string)doesn't sound right. i also don't like that they accent every last note of a part. i also don't think that it sounds right. but, of course, it's MY opinion.

  • Harga Dinga Dargen!

  • that very last note was TERRIBLE!!!!!

  • yeah, its supposed to be one note, not a chord.

  • geweldig :D de video van animusic zelf is al vet maar dit maakt het toch net iets mooier om te zien hoe mensen het spelen 5/5

  • Gaaf heh, en de jongste leerlingen hadden nog geen jaar les!
