what dial positions on the monotron do you need to have the aux input kaossilator sound the same in the output? it looks like you just turned peak all the way up
people don't yet seem to understand that the monotron is an ANALOG synthesizer. It produces an analog sound, just like the headphone output on every other synthesizer. You can use it as a filter for ANY instrument/music device, that puts out an analog sound. If you plug it into your computer (mic aux), you will be able to record it using i.e. windows soundrecorder :)
say i wanted to use all the circuitry in the monotron as is...but i want to use an external keyboard instead of the ribbon input. could i hook up a simple 61-key electronic keyboard through its headphone jack into the monotron's aux input and use a synth -type sound setting on the keyboard? would the VCO and LFO function properly, or is it only the VCF?
@KorgUSAVideos Of course, if you're not worried about the warranty (and hey, since the thing is so damn durable and affordable), there are totally sweet mods for the good ole' Monotron.
And of course you could always plug in a cheap keyboard into the aux input and just filter it through.
im wanting both of these devices and im curious to know if when they are both plugged in if i will be able to have the track created, by BOTH of the devices, be inputed into my computer... can anyone answer that question?
@liamfitzCYA No... The monotron is purely analog, and has no way of interacting with a USB port. You can, however, get a USB-audio interface, and connect the monotron's outputs to it.
@KorgUSAVideos how? i got a monotron for christmas, and ive been trying ever since to get it to interface with logic, or do anything, i want to record into logic so i can sample it...how do i do this? please help =[ using a novation nio 2/4 interface with a mini jack lead? is this even right? haha
@JugGaLoHuStLa Connect the 1/8" line out on the monotron to any available inputs on your computer's audio interface. If desired, you can also connect the output of your audio interface to the line input on the monotron, to process audio using the monotron's filter.
I'm not sure if you can follow requests, but I would love to see some of the new Korg Keyboards presented if possible. I can imagine something like "microStation in the Studio" or "An Introduction to PS60".
Looking forward to more videos involving new Korg products!

And is it a good idea anyway? I don't want to kill the electronics xD

@AquaticCheese Out of the box, the monotron cannot be controlled with an external keyboard.

@gunghoman414 With the setup shown in the video, you'll need to connect the headphone output of the monotron into your computer's audio input.

@KorgUSAVideos yeah i've tried this, but logic pro doesn't see the monotron at all, neither does my interface for that matter. =[

so is a monotron an alternative to the mini kp?
are they the same?
if so which one is better?
tnx
devilbatstungun 1 year ago
@devilbatstungun They are pretty different! Though both of them can act as 1. instruments 2. effects
To begin with, one of them is Digital and the other is Analog. BTW see my several Monotron videos for ideas ;-)
