@blackilluzionz Windows 7 sells one copy every 7 seconds i believe. It has sold 240 million copies ( 100% True ). Apple has only like 12.5% of the market share. Dell has 23.6% and HP has 24.2% market share. Sure Apples only one company but windows seven is a far superior OS. In my opinion of course.

So Apple has been selling tablets for months now and all HP can come up with is a 15 second video that shows absolutely nothing? A bad and desperate attempt to keep people attention that they're going to make a iPad too and this one has features no one cares about unless you hate the iPad.

@dokzero5 you must understand that this is an actual computer while the iPad is an overpriced, oversize toy. The iPad won't even print to hp printers, and the cord to hook it up to a Television cost over 40 dollars too. The slate, however; uses a standard Laptop AV cord. The slate can also support adobe flash and if you ever wanted to you could play halo on it. Apple took a great leap forward when they released the IPad, but Hp is proving it to be a step in the wrong direction.

HP doesn't get it! Taking a full fledged notebook and ripping away the keyboard, does not make a 'touch' device. Every single app on the iPad has been written from the ground up to handle multi-touch, adding touch to a desktop OS, that was designed for a mouse and keyboard, is doomed. And a full OS invites the same problems as all Windows computers; viruses, blue screens of death, all the other Windows headache. Try an iPad, try a Slate, and you'll see what I mean.

Archos 9 is terrible, but I have my fingers crossed for the EEEtablet.

I'd rather have a watered down OS than Windows if the interface is going to be as clunky as it is on the Archos 9. It and the Asus T91 both run extremely slow atom processors. Watch some realtime demos, not CGI'd teasers.

Since HP won't release info on which Atom it's using, I'm assuming it'll be a z520 or something like that.

They really should just make a separate Windows touch-screen tablet version instead of 7 starter.

the truth is, if apple plans on selling the ipad at all, they won't market it as a "tablet" pc. they're trying to make something different. it doesn't do alot of things a tablet pc can do but i think that might have been some strange idea apple had... or something. i don't know really what the ipad is truly useful for, but to me, the ipad is an extremely user friendly web surfing device. and that's pretty much it. not a tablet, not an iphone, an ipad. but where's the real apple tablet?

I've touched and played with the "ipad" trust me it sucks. I have a feeling that the "HP Slate" is going to embarrass Apple when it is released. What the ipad lacks and doesn't do the HP Slate will. Think about Apples old Newton device is more capable and useful and does a lot more then the ipad when imputing information and manipulating data. They have a mother board, a processor, RAM, HDD, a graphics card. The display information on a monitor and input is through a mouse and keyboard. The are PCs, computers created for personal use.

The fact that they have began to include Intel processors and nVidia GPU's wasn inevitable, Apple wanted to make a product that would force the consumers to buy everything from Apple but no one was biting. That is why the original MAC has become more and more like the common PC (even though technically, both have always been Personal Computers).
