When they were together they were the best to do it. I was too young for Jordan/Pippen, so Shaq/Kobe were the greatest. Wade/James may upset that, you never know. But thats what we cant forsee. The quickest why they split? Jealousy. Two players who couldnt share. Both wanted to be the "Leader" and it couldnt happen so Shaq walked away.

@medog12 I think management needed to a better job of constructing that team around them and both Kobe and Shaq needed to keep their ego in check. The year they lost to the Spurs, Lakers were crumbling with no help as Shaq came into camp hurt. Also LAkers medical staff fucked up on the diagnosing the Malone injury. Malone was a key part of helping that team make the Finals. Payton was a horrible fit to the triangle.

Perhaps if Pat Riley and better supporting cast, they could have won.
