I've had stones all my life. But some of your story don't add up. Why'd they transfer you so much, and why'd you get so many tests when a cat scan is all you need for it to show up? And the stone don't hurt till it's OUT of the kidney and into the uretor, then it stops hurting once it reaches the bladder. Don't know how you could feel it in your kidney. Lmao.
@ThugLuvinGrl 1)In Australia we go to a public hospital before we go to a private. That's why I was transfered ONCE to a major hospital better able to cope. Then ONCE more to a private hospital. It happens all the time here.
2)They found the stones by CT scan after an accident at work. That's why I had so much pain & the stones were stuck in my ureters. All the other tests/scans were routine to follow the stones.
3)I didn't feel pain in my kidney but in my back from the accident.
@ThugLuvinGrl Totally agree. I get a couple dozen a year. Most pass without incident. I've only had four that required a trip to the hospital. Had 6 or 7 lithotripsys also. Fun.
i just had my first kidney stone this past thursday, i'm an 18year old female and i had mistaken the pain for really bad period cramps at first. went to bed on thursday afternoon at 12, woke up at 7pm unable to sit up or anything so my mom brought me to the ER. didn't get in an examination room til about 2am but was unable to see the DR. so we stayed the night, friday came along, had a CT scan, it was a 1mm KS, moved rooms, still no DR., saturday i finally had surgery because i couldn't pass it.
@somethingspecialxox - for the record, that was definitely the worst pain i have ever experienced in my life, not that i have experienced much, but i promised my parents they didn't have to worry about me getting pregnant any time soon lol. i may have to take a pill every day for the rest of my life in order to prevent more kidney stones from forming if there is uric acid in the first stone that i had. they are testing it and i will find out in 3 weeks. hoping i won't have to take the pill.
@somethingspecialxox Where was the darn Dr?Was it busy in the ER?Although you would be Triaged a 4,which is a long wait.So you saw no Dr at all??Yet they still admitted you?Or just moved you in the ER?So did the surgery help? And how bad was it?
I put off surgery as I knew what they were going to do,& I work with these people.
At least it's out now.You didn't get any lower back pain?Only stomach?Which is the worst bit.Hopefully no more for you or me.
(1/2) @balckbettystack - yes, i was sent straight to triage. it was busy in the ER, we got there at about 730pm and i didn't get into the examination room until 2am. i didn't see a DR until saturday i believe .. from thursday - friday i just saw nurses which was annoying as hell because i just wanted to get out of there asap. the reason i was admitted so quickly was because my boyfriend's mom is a nurse there and she had spoke to the DR, he ordered me to be admitted.
(2/2) - i find that the surgery did help, there is some manageable pain ... i had to get the surgery though, i didn't have a choice, because i was unable to pass the stone as it was too far up for my bladder to push it out and the DR was concerned that my kidneys would start to fail. it wasn't bad at all.. but they had a hard time getting it out so i was in there a bit longer than it usually takes, which is .5 hrs and i was in there for 1.5 hrs. i did get back pain, and yes hopefully :)
@SilentToe They offered that to me as it was taking too long to pass. But I knew what they were going to do and avoided it.
So have you found that it's better pain wise?
Had surgery the same day! Wow! What sort of hospital was that? We can wait 24 hours for emergency surgery and stones aren't considered emergency.Unless at this hospital in video, you can get it done the next day.
@SilentToe Germany has a better system than us.Although it's free & insurance if wanted,it's budget is stretched to the limit.
At this hospital because they have everything there,it was just a matter of waiting a night for the Surgeon to be free. But decided against the surgery. They were going to blast mine. And it had been 9 days.So I had,had enough.Especially since my Dr was only giving me small doses of low pain meds.
I woke up yesterday morning to have the worst pain in my lower right abdomen. After a long hospital visit it turns out I have a kidney stone. I'm assuming the pain was simply the stone passing through into the bladder, as I felt the pain move and, eventually, stop.
Next bit is getting it out. Not looking forward to it..
All they gave me was paracetamol ( acetaminophen ) Oxyconton. That's all. I was in so much pain myself but the treating Doctor doesn't believe in strong medications.
@thedaniel2997 If it's hurting you that bad you need some pain medications and drink water like there is no tomorrow. Try and drink 3 litres whilst passing a stone. If you don't it will take longer and longer. The more you drink, the more you pee.
They say kidney stones is as close as a male is going to get to giving birth, but I found birth was easier.
@thedaniel2997 I didn't say I had it bad at all in my videos.
I passed 2 stones. One was 2mm the other was 5mm.
Doesn't matter what our age, your urethra is still the same size as an adult. It's just that children don't have a pain tolerance as high as some people. I have seem some grown men cry at little things too.
Have you been to the hospital? Did you get any pain killers?
The pain is at it's worst as it moves from the bladder through the urethra to outside. So it's almost over.
@balckbettystack i just came back from the hospital after being admitted into the er for kidney stone pain in my right flank. man o man it felt like i was being stabbed by a red hot glowing sword from hell and the wound never healed or something.
they pumped me full of toradol and flowmax during my stay. i havent passed them but they are clear of my kidney. they are both in my bladder at the moment. both are 4 mm
@hostelowner It hurts like crazy doesn't it?It's hard to discribe the pain,it's beyond bad.I felt like I had a red hot screwdriver rambed into me.Stone pain goes through a few,not as bad though, phases in pain. They hurt when passing from the kidneys to the bladder, because of the ureters. Then they hurt the worst when they goes down the urethra to the outside. But that passes a lot quicker than the other.1 was 2mm on me the other 5mm.They discharged you with pain meds? And told to heaps drink water.
@balckbettystack do they hurt lmao. hurting is an understatement. like you said it's just too hard to describe. i passed one yesterday at like 2 in the morning. thankgod the intense pain only last a few moments because your peeing it out but still. this just isn't something i would wish on an enemy at all.
@ balckbettystack : I don't have insurance so it costs like $200 dollars at a generic doctor for the visit(what a rip), so I have to go to the hospital(I have Plan A). hello, welcome to YouTube! You can quit your suffering easily without going to the doc. Seems you have not seen this video! How to dissolve kidney stones!
/watch?v=bVjLdBwTVjM
alo check out the related "Lemons Can KILL Kidney Stones!" and his followup video.
your not alone., it hurts like hell I know and feel your pain
I dont go to the docs for crap and when it first dislodged I was a hero wasnt saying I'll be fine but that dont mean it didnt hurt like hell
come the next day I had my first major movement and let out a howl that musta had the neighbors thinking their was a massacre going on., I knew right then I was going to the docs
hydrangea root and marshmellow root have been proven to relieve pain assoc. with kidney stones within minutes, and will dissolve most stones within a few days for only about $25 dollars,, u decide
the harder the pain i have the more I love it cause it reminds me of the extreme pleasure the body can also give you . Cant have one without the other. they define each other. Pain and pleasure are just moments in time.. ;]
i passed one last night-got pain in my left side bout 430pm-1 hour of extreme pain-almost passed out-on way to hospital the pain decreased by half and i felt fine by 7pm-passed it at 10pm-my doc said shed rather give birth 10 more times w/o meds instead of passing another stone-and i belieave her. so much pain from such a lil guy-unreal.

It is not the first so knew what was going on when the pain started and i peed blood.
But oh man! the pain is like nothing i have ever fellt. i´d rather break an arm or such.
went to the hospital. had surgery the same day.
they put some kind of tube from my kidney to my bladder.

well, they weren`t sure if the stone could pass. so they told me it was the best option.
and it is. had the same thing 5 jears ago. and for me it is better then peing it out.
you have to drink stuff that disolves the stone for about 2 or 3 weeks.
after that the tube comes out.
it is not realy an emergency surgery.
but waiting 24 hours while in pain from the stone?
never heard that happen. atleast not here in germany.

how do you pass a kidney stone?!
jpakajw 2 years ago
Very painfully.
It comes down the ureters out of the kidney which KILLS!Then into the bladder then out the urethra.
I missed out on having it surgically removed by a tiny bit thank God.

the harder the pain i have the more I love it cause it reminds me of the extreme pleasure the body can also give you . Cant have one without the other. they define each other. Pain and pleasure are just moments in time.. ;]
