o.o... youre scaring me because i have a crossbite. (i have a crooked jaw but hardly noticeable, only if i turn to the side) I never realized it until 5thgrade ..I'm im highschool now i and i never had braces in my life. I heard they really hurt... Maybe when im older ill get surgery too. >.<
i have an underbite and a crossbite too. i want the surgery really bad because i would like to actually smile in a picture for once in my life. i would probably die if i actually did have the surgery, like literally. im skinny and i hardly eat with a surgery-free jaw. i couldnt handle it
So anyways may I ask what is it like approximately 12 days after the surgery? Because 12 days later i'll be going around visiting relatives for the lunar new year :X and i'm quite afraid how i'll look and how moody i'll be... haha. It will affect your emotions right? Cos I expect that i'll be moody from having a swollen face and inconvienience and all...
Hi your video has been really informative and helpful!! Glad to have people posting up advice on jaw surgery so that I can be mentally prepared for it :X I actually feel a lil cheated now because my orthodontist told me that it won't hurt much at all and all i'll get is a tingly sensation around my jaw and nose area because of my nerves stretching and all.
did you get the braces in an attempt to fix the bite or were they not able to correct your bite at all? also did you always have the crossbite or did it come after you injured yourself?
I'd also love to see before and after pics, but thank you for sharing this video! :)
like suring the surgery do they have to do that tube thing that they well u know put up you so while your under you pee in it ?....... thats the part im smost scared about im really scared if their going to mess down their ya i dont want that at all lol ???????????
@celinegonzo No for me they didn't hook me up to a tube. But I had to have a nurse walk me to the bathroom every time I had to go... which was a lot. Haha
@Goergebenson Dont get me wrong, your cute but a little annoying like Paris Hilton. Actually paris is dugly! thats dumb and ugly. I just made that up so dont steal (or something like I guess, oh my god, like, uhh! thingy!)
@Goergebenson Honestly what's your point of commenting on this video? You're just being blatantly rude for no reason. If it annoys you, don't watch it. Not my problem.
I just wanted to point out that if you stopped playing with your hair, it would be easier to focus on what your saying, instead of sitting here thinking 'could she stop playing with her hair'
I guess I just went about it the wrong way.
Take it as constructive criticism.
Sorry you had to go through so much pain but I hope it works out.
thank you! I'm a little sad because I'm going to be wired up for 4 weeks 4!! but i guess its worth it i look so much better :) i just cant wait to start eating again I'm starving lol
Did you ever have a problem with your bottom teeth hitting your top brackets? I just got my braces yesterday and it is a terrible feeling. My ortho said he could put bite plates in but didn't want to. He also said if my front top brackets happen to fall off, to just clip the wire. I was like, you know, I think I'd rather just drive an hour to get you to fix it. Ugh. I just cringed thinking about my mom with pliers in my mouth. If you or anyone else had this problem, how did you deal with it?
random question..I'm thinking about jaw surgery to correct an overbite and one thing that really freaks me out is the numbness. I know you said yours went away within 3 months but did you ever find that it is annoying to eat and speak with the numbness. Also I'm worried about being numb and not being able to feel my boyfriend kissing me! I know that's a lame excuse, but that would truly suck haha.
Hey thanks for the truth, a lot of the people in the other videos said it was a peaceful experience and that they experienced no pain at all and I find that hard to believe.
Do you have any before pics because my case is exactly like yours, i.e i have a cross bite and an underbite
hey....I'm getting jaw surgery too. i have a cross bite and a open bite...so i really appreciate all the advice because I'm definitely going to need it! thanks again for posting this! :)
Hey, how old were you when you got the surgery? I have the exact same this crossbite with underbite Ive had braces for three years now I'm 16 and I want to have surgery but I need to get insured first I'm just wondering if my age is going to be a problem...
We went to my Orthodontist and I'm supposed to be getting braces over the course of the next few months. I have a cross bite but he said he can use an expander to correct mine, did your Orthodontist try an expander on you and it wasn't able to correct your bite?
@Deathprincss My orthodontist tried everything, I had braces for 5 years before I got my surgery so I've had everything you can imagine! Haha. My case was too severe for an expander to work (although I did have one on the top for 6 months, and on the bottom for like a year) in the end the only solution was surgery.
It is nice to see you able to speak so well after surgery. I am 24 now and was diagnosed with TMJ when I was 23. I wanted to be on insurance, could you tell me which insurance was it that you used? Coz I saw online that most of the insurances do not cover TMJ due to the confusion whether it is dental or health related one.(I am sorry, I am an international student, I dont know much about insurances in this country. All I had was my school insurace and it did not cover TMJ visits.
@mohammad7171 Hi. I'm sorry to hear that :/ I'm not sure what insurance it was, my dad is a firefighter captian so he's offered a special insurance from his job... the insurance did not pay for the whole thing though. It was a 20,000 dollar surgery I believe, but in the end my dad only had to pay 9,000 out of pocket I believe. I'm sorry I couldn't be more help. Good luck!
how much did it cost you?

No but your flimsy vanity is annoying.
If your hair is always in your way, why dont you cut it off, or put it in a hair band?
Could you also stop talking as if your surprised that you can actually connect words together, like, or something!!
Thanks!

Pretty braces! Part your hair in the middle or pull the top back and you won't have to brush it out of your face every 30 seconds.
