Yea, pitching like this is effective because it looks like the ball is coming at you, it's hard to judge the break, and the release point can be disguised more so than your typical pitcher, but this is horrible for your arm. With age, all pitchers that throw sub and sidearm eventually have to change to 3/4 if they want to prolong their careers.
