First of all no offence to expert village, good intentions noted. But this video actually does more harm than good.

A lot of beginners will think that they are benefiting from this video as it allows them to do a shot similar to a light smash. But reality is that they will take on the bad habits presented in this video and hinder their chance of learning the actual skill.

I would like to see this video replaced by one that's done by an actual coach with some competitive badminton experience.

@reygasparplusme1 it's harder than that, this is a really basic explanation, any decent badminton player would say that. But beginners can't learn from this... a decent explanation should integrate footstep, weight change tips, grip, etc. So don't learn from this. lol

The way he is holding the racquet at the ready position is wrong. The racquet should be facing to the net, not to his right. Get a real instructor and don't follow his video. It is better to start it right.

*sigh* he has missed a lot of concepts. He should've showned how the forehand grip looks like, the contact point of the shuttle, and when this shot should be used. I would not recommend this video to people who are learning the basics of smashing. I suggest that every beginner should get a coach.
