Great photos! It's always sad to see part of your childhood torn apart, but things change (unfortunately.) I miss all the classic coasters (none of this bigger-is-better business for me!) and rides like the Rotor, Enterprise and Texas Twister.
Every summer was; Geauga Lake, Sea World and then the greatest of them all...CEDAR POINT!!! Then an Indian's game from the OLD Stadium, and maybe something @ The Coliseum. Can't forget Blossom Music Center!
You couldn't drag me from living in the South now, but I have some nice childhood memories of NE Ohio. Well, ok Cedar Point is Sandusky, but still :)

OMG. This is so bizarre. I was going to the park in the early 90's, and the guy on the Rotor was STILL THERE. NEVER got off. It was very disconcerting to me as a child.
A place of many fun times as a youth. Great place for famly reunions. Will never forget, everyear, when I was growing up(70's-80's) that guy who was always ther eon the Rotor. Does anyone else remember him. He was strange. Never got off the ride. All day, everyday, every year. Weird. Then he switched to the Superman ride, after the Rotor was removed.
it kills me to go to wildwater kingdom. alls i see is the big dipper sitting their all alone. i miss the days of going there. i ve been going there since i was 3. i am 13 now. i was only a half hour away from it. i miss it so much
I grew up within bicycle riding distance from this park, I grew up every summer going there. Up until 2006 It was a staple of my Summer , now here it is 2009 I drive by there and its a ghost town. Around 2 short year MANY Years have just decayed away! This video actually got m teary eyed!
I never go there fore 1 reason cuz i live in europe but please can somebody tell me who sing this song and wat's the title of it thanks allready and its 2 bad 4 u people that had fun memory's over there they close the park
The days of Traditional America are quickly coming to an end. The folks at Cedar Fair could care less about history and tradition. If you would like to visit a Tradional Park make a drive to Kenny Wood in Pittsburgh Historic rides and food
ohhhhh, the memories this brings back are so good. Sucks that it's closed. Ive been going there since i was 6 (im 16 now) and those memories are irriplacible
All i can say is this just blows i live in aurora and i remember when the traffic would be backed up for miles when people would go to the park
i had many great memories there and im really gonna miss it stupid sea world when u faggots got bought out by six flags it screwed it all up so screw you sea world bastards
I'm going miss this place so much,I went to Geauga Lake since the mid 80's.I actually went there, the day after I graduated High school back in 97'.RIP Geauga Lake.
i lived right by geauga lake and i always heard the roller coasters from my front yard. i hate looking at them tear down the roller coasters. all of the thunder hawk is already done and they have the whole loop and corckcrews down from the dominator

WHAT?!?! I sometimes visit my dad in Ohio and went a few times. This closure is definitely news to me. when did it close?
I'm so confused.
JasonBonitati 4 years ago
It "closed" 9/21/07 but will be open as "Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom" water park only. It's really sad.
